Delicious brunch option!
A piece of home-made apple coffee cake came in place of bread. It was sweet and crumbly.
I tried the pulled pork hash, which came with a couple of poached eggs and a delicious blanket of hollandaise. YUMMY!!!! Albeit a rather heavy dish.
The place was very quiet for a Sunday afternoon, which isn't a bad thing if you are looking for somewhere laid-back. They accept reservations but it's definitely not necessary for Sunday brunch.

Wonderful space, great for a chill Friday night out.

An approachable and elegant restaurant with a lovely menu.
The dining room is wide open and has an old fashioned quality about it. The friendliest staff I've encountered in New York so far.
Hands down the best mashed potatoes and roasted chicken I've ever had. Live jazz most nights and well worth a seat at the bar. Haven't been to the Friday night burlesque show yet but will soon thanks to a glowing endorsement by Amanda - a friendly bartender who will take good care of you.
Good for an early supper with family and an excellent spot to have a nightcap with friends.
Consistently good food and nice people.
So, as the people who have been reading my reviews should know by now, I don't tend to travel outside of TriBeCa too much. I feel that there are a number of great restaurants in my neighborhood, and it's nice to be able to walk to them. So, when I won a bet a couple of months ago that'd I'd beat a now former friend in one game of bowling, I decided that we'd go to Duane Park. Since she had been so convinced that she'd prevail, I didn't mind suggesting a more expensive place ;) Plus, I had brought her to a couple of nice places before, so I though she shouldn't mind springing for a nice place once.
I really like Duane Park's interior. It's refined, pristine and calming. If you're seeking a nice place to take a date, I highly recommend this place for a soothing atmosphere.
And, the food was pretty good. We shared the tuna tartare, and I ordered the shell steak. While it would have been nice to have a bigger portion of tuna tartare, it was delicious. And, my steak was prepared to my satisfaction.
As the resident unofficial TriBeCa ambassador, trust me that this place is definitely worth visiting. I highly doubt you're going to be disappointed.
After months of wanting to, we finally tried Duane Park for brunch. We were sick of edward's and wanted something a bit quieter. We didn't know how good we were about to have it.
First of all the complimentary bread with brunch is actually homemade coffee cakes that change daily - we've now been twice and had a cherry one and a blueberry one. But they are great because they are not that sweet, and they don't have crumble, so you eat them with a little butter.
For the mains, I had the french toast covered in roasted fresh peaches with rosemary and ricotta. delicious. And colin had the omelette which was perfect, with really great potatoes.
And to boot, you're sitting in a really lovely relaxing space and the people are all very nice. Just a great way to start a day. And on Sundays they usually have live jazz while you are eating. All for the same price (or less) as edward's around the corner where you eat elbow to elbow. Great value.
Then we went back for dinner and that was great too. Highly recommend the duck confit appetizer. It is almost a meal. Only complaint was that the portions were kind of random. The duck confit was huge and the other app (which I can't remember) was small.
I came here with a bunch of friends one Friday night for the Jazz and Burlesque show. It was actually a beautifully appointed space, largely in black and white, with gobs of elegance and class. Its what I would expect of a Parisian Salon in the 20's.
Apparently the only way to guarantee these particular events is to book the latest table they have for dinner and slowly drink and eat your way through to the show. I actually didn't notice that the pace was particularly slow and enjoyed the night.
The food was solidly 3 stars, as in nothing special to report, but competent enough. The music and dancing though was completely unique and wonderful. I have no idea where else to go for an experience like this in NYC but would go in a second. Brian Newman the Jazz lead was charming and had an impeccable voice. All the girls who danced and sang through the night were great as well.
The music was the rock that kept the night going and each time the set was broken up for one of the girls to come out it was a great bit of fanfare. I don't hesitate for a second to recommend coming to this.
If you can find a better place for two vintage loving writer girls to have a dinner full of gossip and fancy cocktails, I'd like to see it.
And naturally, they have french fries on the menu. You need that for your proper lady dinner, no boys allowed.
I received an email and this POPS out at me:
Crawfish and Shrimp Boil
What: Crustaceans flown in from Louisiana end up on your plate with corncobs and Creole fries.
Why: Jazzy bands get down while you get dirty.
When: Thru June 18. Thurs., 5:30-11 p.m.
Where: Duane Park, 157 Duane St., b/t W. Broadway & Hudson Sts. (212-732-5555).
Why?
Because I am from the South and this is how we get down and Durty Durty!
I was extremely excited and I automatically tell T about this and since I know T hates to peel and work for her food, I even told T I would be willing to do all the work for her if she would just come with me.
At first, I thought it was a Crawfish Park Festival but after clicking on the link, I discovered it was a real restaurant.
My other friends didn't want to go because it wasn't at a real park.
*sigh*
FINALLY, E and J round up some troops and we headed out there. I was super duper excited since HELLOS...eating my beloved crawfish here in the East Coast was like a dream come true.
The waitress told us the crawfish boil comes with LOADS of crawfish, three shrimps, corn on the cob, string beans and creole fries for Market Price.
Of course, 4 out of 6 of us ordered the crawfish boil. When the crawfish came. I was like pretty fancy for a crawfish boil, but whatever, I am ready to suck some heads.
OMG
If anyone have never sucked heads before, they would NEVER EVER want to after trying their boil.
It was so disgusting and where the hell is all the yellow yummy goodness?
GROSS! You couldn't even suck any heads here!
Then I tasted the crawfish meat, ummm where the hell is the kick or the spice?
I, then requested the waitress to give me the spice so I can add some damn kick. She looks confused and was like Tabasco?
Ugh, she's retarded...
in the South, people would already know what the hell you're talking and no need to break down what you mean by spice.
This place offered remoulade and butter to dip your crawfish in, ummm butter we do but remoulade?
I thought this was a crawfish boil and I thought there were going to be LOADS of crawfish, instead it was only half of a pound of puny sized critters.
Are they really flow in from Louisiana?
Gosh thank god, they gave you creole fries, because that's the only thing that was good that came with the boil.
The boil was disgusting so I would have given NO STARS, but two stars because their Banana Foster Flambe (Though I didn't see any fire!) was delicious.
We had to order dessert since all the crawfish boil eaters, were all still hungry.
And I don't want to even get started on the clienteles that patrons this place.
What a HOT MESS!
My jouneys to downtown Manhattan usually come to a halt at Chinatown (dimsum weekends) or LES (shitfaced revelry) but a special occasion brought me to Tribeca this past Friday.
I wanted to surprise him with a quiet, intimate dining atmosphere where we felt like the only two in the restaurant. Where the service was attentive but not smothering. Where the restaurant was bathed in dim lighting and surrounded by candles. Thus, we arrived at Duane Park.
Duane Park is reminiscent of a New Orleans manor, which is aligned perfectly with the cuisine and service. We started off with a trio of appetizers - slow cooked duck confit, tuna tartare, and a bacon and corn chowder. The duck confit was perfectly tender, slightly crispy skin, and atop a bed of sherry-marinated green beans and tomato jam. The tuna tartare was a delicious mound of fresh tuna, served alongside sesame tuilles. The chowder was chockfull of corn kernels and smoky bacon.
I was practically full after the appetizer. He ordered the pan-roasted organic chicken served with cippolini onions, olive oil-parmesan mashed potatoes, and natural jus. I ordered the skillet-seared day boat scallops with grilled California asparagus, orange segments, and baby arugula. The chicken was so moist and delicious and the scallops had a beautiful sear to them. Deee-lish.
I requested our server bring out the Mexican Chocolate Tart with a birthday candle and the card I wrote for him. As requested, he came out promptly with the cake and card.
It was a night to remember :)
I had a great experience last Wednesday at Duane Park, just stopped in for a bite at the bar, and they where having an Opera night, I hate opera, but have to say that it was fantastic in the environment and it was short spurts, so we still had time to talk and enjoy the always Delicious food.

Have to agree with Jeri E.'s review...
They have the "Vamps and Vixens" Burlesque show on Saturdays and Sundays, and really thus far, I think its the best burlesque around town. Its very classy and very 1920s! Lots of jazz and the woman that is known as Manning has an amazing voice! We had alot of fun. Yea..the drinks are a bit pricey, but really the whole evening was alot of fun, and well worth it! We had basically front row seats! We did peruse the menu, and nothing on it really excited us, yea I guess we are food snobs, but maybe we were just full...lol...will have to comoe back with friends and show them this kewl little joint that takes you back to the 1920s NYC :)
Intimate, quiet gem in Tribeca. We went early on Friday night which meant we had to miss out on the burlesque show which our waiter assured us is steadily growing in popularity and gets quite packed every weekend.
The menu upon first glance actually looks a bit run of the mill, but there's quite a meticulous attention to detail which makes Duane Park a bit different. My shrimp and grits were definitely the knockout dish of the night, while the bouillabaisse was spicy and very flavorful.
Drinks-wise, they do fantastic New Orleans inspired cocktails - my mojito was great, with tons of mint which is the way I usually like them.
All in all, I would probably come back to this pretty, cozy spot if I happened to be in the neighborhood.
What a pretty restaurant! Love the blue rococo-esque façade, c'est tres chic! It's the beautiful blue façade that attracted me to this place, and the interior was very elegantly decorated as well! This place just makes you feel so special, I just love dining at a fancy elegant place! I've only had a cup of coffee and desserts here, but the staff was very accomodating and friendly, didn't mind me not having a proper food. The cakes were very delicious, we ordered Mexican Chocolate Torte and Orange Almond Torte. The latter was my fave, it tasted like an ice cream cake with a hint of orange. I fell in love with this place.... I have to go back for dinner!
Their lunch prix-fixe is $24 but only available from Mon-Fri.
Last Wednesday, Duane Park hosted a Tequila party featuring Vanessa Trouble as the entertainment.
The atmosphere was delightful, the party a triumph and the music sublime.
Trouble & friends will be performing there on Wednesdays... check out this NY gem!
I went here mainly with a group for the weekly jazz and burlesque performance. So, I wasn't going to set my expectations too high. Overall, I did enjoy the evening. The decor was very fitting... almost too decadent I thought. We were well tended to with service especially how tightly they packed the place- I think they were just starting to get online press a few weeks back. So, it was filling up with the usual MPD crowd. Kind of a shame on some of the patrons because the performers were actually well recognized and not given attention to their sets. As for the food, it was good, but not blown away to come back just for. I see this place for smaller groups or a date night. Good change up from the usual after work bar crawl.
Loved it. Went on a Sunday night to participate in the $25 prix fixe offering. This is totally a "take your parents place". Live jazz from 7-9pm, The room is beautiful, indoor columns, a chandilier. You must go. Great date place.
I had a $35 prix fixe dinner as part of a school event and I thought that it was a great value.
I started with the scallop & crabcake appetizer which was flavourful and crispy, though I couldn't taste any scallop and was disappointed to find crab shreds instead of lump crab meat. Oh well. It was delicious anyway.
I moved onto my main course of peppercorn crusted halibut in a pool of tomato sauce and found it very fresh, flaky, and generously-sized.
My dessert of frozen vanilla mousse with strawberries was pretty good, but it tasted like they had served us some frozen Cool Whip.
Service was good. I would come here again.
I can not believe I have never noticed this place! I live nearby and walk by all the time. Went here for dinner last week on Friday evening. I was not disappointed. The food was very good. I had the scallops and they were delicious. Everyone else at the table had the steak and that was good. Nice price as well I have to say. The rice pudding was not very nice as dessert (Not mine thankfully :)) but the chocolate dessert was good. Their wine list had nice affordable options, so this is another place to remember.
Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Charming space in Tribeca, friendly staff and a lovely 3 piece band accompanied our meal. Had the scallop dish, perfectly sweet, lovely portion sizes. My father ate the chicken and declared it one of the best chicken dishes he'd ever eaten. A gem in a city of gems.
This is one of my new favorite Manhattan spots! I stopped in there last evening to check out the "Vintage Vamps & Vixens" Burlesque show and was blown away! There was a live music performance & the singer was charming & super entertaining (I think the band is called Gelber & Manning's 1920s jazz band). The burlesque performers were lovely & there was even a tap-dancing show! Drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but they were well-made and the overall experience was phenomenal. There will be more burlesque shows every Saturday and Sunday during the month of March, so try to stop over and support this wonderful establishment!
What a fantastic place if you like delicious food in a cool, non-rushed comfortable atmosphere! The staff is so friendly and attentive. The old Duane Park was stodgy but the new ownership has brought fresh ideas with a unique, well-designed rococo decor (love to grab a drink and lounge on the blue banquet under the 18th century etching wallpaper!) The food is superior--love the duck confit and even the beet salad. The pork chop is great-the helpings here are always generous--even the chicken is tasty and fabulous as is the seafood. And you can just as comfortably bring a date one week and your parents the next. A real jewel. Oh yea, and late night burlesque on Fridays is a wonderful and fun idea!
My new favorite spot in Tribeca...and that's saying something. Food it great, service is really friendly, I even dig the funky decor. Kind of a New American Cajun mix type of menu I guess. I had the hangar steak last time and it was great. Even the potatoes were delicious! That's right...I just said the potatoes were delicious. The kitchen got backed up a bit last time I was there but the server was really cool about it and bought us a round of drinks. Her attitude more than made up for any time lost between courses. Great place for no attitude fantastic food. Highly recommended.
The redesign/redo has done a lot of good. A lovely place for a holiday dinner or romantic interlude, the restaurant's menu offers a great array of options including: Frissee salad, Short-Rib Ravioli, a shockingly good Chicken dish and an extremely memorable sauteed cod.
Maybe it was an off night, but I did not experience any of the great food, cozy atmostphere and warm service that the other reviewers write about. I found Duane Park to be totally mediocre and a big disapointment. My salmon ceviche appetizer was ok as was my tuna entree. 2 of my dinner guests had ordered the pork chop but were told 10 minutes later that they were out of it. This was a huge disappointment and I don't understand how they could run out of a staple on their menu - it was only 8pm and the restaurant was not full. I will not be going back.
New ownership/management. Newly renovated. Was always a wonderful dining experience, yet the food is better than ever and now enjoyed in a luxe, sophisticated, elegant yet relaxing room of white and blues. Not to mention the beautiful toile wall murals, lovely dark-stained floor, and the inviting blue banquet.
Of the entrees: the Sauteed Cod is a must if you love fish; typically, chicken is the last thing I'll order, but the Pan-Roasted Chicken has changed my mind; the smoked-paprika aioli gives the Hanger Steak just the right subtle touch that makes it fine dining. Among the appetizers: the Short-rib/Mushroom Ravioli is divine; Frisee salad refreshing and satisfying texture (the candied walnuts); a new crispy Kaitifi Shrimp with passion-fruit nage and a peanut-cucumber salad is a great balance of taste and texture.
Can't wait to try the other dishes. Want to go for brunch soon to try the Pain Perdue.
Also look forward to returning, sitting on that lovely blue velvet banquet and drinking a few of the special cocktail of the house, Undine's Curse.
Can't say enough about the new Duane Park!
The owners definitely know what they are doing, catering to a clientele that likes food without feeling the rush and and the need to be a celebrity to get decent service like so many of the trendy, high-end restaurants in New York today. Completely unpretentious yet completely posh, Duane Park offers great food in a tucked away location. My favs were the scallop and crabcake, scallops were delish and the skate. Other notables were the tuna tartar and the softshell crab.
went with about 15 women. all the dishes were very good, the atmosphere is gorgeous, and it's a classy but low-key place. would def go back for a nice meal.
Food was okay, show was entertaining. The MC was mad cheesy but the music was good. Be prepared to not talk during your meal once the Fri Night burlseque shows have started. You can't hear anything. Service was good and the ladies are hot...put a tassel on it.
