There were shoes online that I wanted. They were flat patent boots. They were $$$ but they were SHINY!!!!!!!! I wanted it. According to the website they were only available online. I wanted to go to the store just to make sure, & yup they were online only. Now they don't even have it on their site anymore =[ I also wanted to try that brand for sizing, but I forgot to do that while I was there...or did I?
When they've got your size, get it, it wont be there next time.
It's nice to have a DSW location here, I don't have to trek all the way downtown.
I don't know about the shoes but I do know about the employees!
So my cousin Liz and I were doing the girl thing. You know talking about boys, getting our nails done and shoe shopping. Liz need a pair of hot black heels (you know the grown up heels). I need sexy "watch me walk" boots. She found her heels. I found an employee to vibe with....
As I was talking to Liz about being grown and sexy.... she mentioned Thursdays at the Academy of Sciences.... I said I always wanted to go. The sales associate who worked there not only helpful but obviously grown and sexy knew about Thursdays. She even knew how much it was to rent for a wedding ( my kinda girl)
Neways, bottom line cute shoes but even cuter employees
Shopping is an experience.
Meh... This place is pretty large, but the selection reflects the location. Not that Daly City is a bad place to be, it's just that the selection of shoes at this location are less "jazzy" and more casual.
But if you are in a bind like I was, having a DSW close to your house is a really awesome thing.
The staff at this location were all really helpful and very friendly. That made my shopping experience more pleasant.
It's smaller than their downtown SF location (though newer) and doesn't have the selection of higher end shoes. They have more sales shoes than I expected and some of them aren't bad. They're having a 70% off sale right now. I didn't find anything this time (the styles that I liked are too similar to the shoes I already own - short booties, black peeptoe slingbacks) but it's still worth a look. I did find some dainty satin slingbacks on another visit for an unbelievably low price. There are some good deals in the sale room (back of the store), e.g., hot pink Sergio Rossi snakeskin sandals (size 8.5) for $90 - I'd never wear them but it's a steal if they're your style.
The store is fairly new and a good size with shoes for men and women, from dressy to casual, athletic to evening. There's a cute seating area with dangling shoes overhead.
They have some brands that you can find all over (Nine West, Rocket Dog, Guess, Dollhouse, Franco Sarto, Report, Nina, Skeechers, Aerosoles, Naturalizer) and some that aren't as widely carried at outlet/off-price stores (Diba, Steve Madden Luxe, Clarks, Irregular Choice). Higher end brands include Coach, Michael Kors, BCBG, Calvin Klein, Tahari, Joan & David and Laundry. In addition to shoes, they carry purses, socks, slippers, scarves and gloves.
They have a free membership program (DSW Rewards). Purchases earn points and eventually you'll earn reward certificates.
This place would have been a lot better if they carry more small sizes instead of big sizes. I hardly see a 5 1/2 m for women no matter what the brand is. Also I bought a pair of Keds from this location and after I wore it once, it had a tiny hole. If you wear big sizes then come to this place to save your money.
The problem with being tall is having large feet. If I was tall and had smaller feet, I'd topple over, and we wouldn't want that. Shopping for shoes can be a disappointment at times [especially at the boutiques and at Macy's], but not at DSW. Their wide selection has much to offer, and when I ran in there at the very last minute to buy shoes for a wedding, they delivered. I stood at their door, waiting for them to open. When they swung open their doors, I ran in, tried on a handful of pairs, and ran out with the prettiest gold strappy shoes to match my dress.
I had to be careful in my selection, however, as the last time I attended a wedding, I was scolded by an aunt for wearing 3"+ heels. Apparently, I stood out. Oh no. As if I don't already stand out at family functions already... So for her daughter's wedding, I bought 1.5" heels. The things I do to accommodate family. *sigh*
Thanks, DSW!
Who says guys can't like DSW Shoes when it clearly spells out Daniel da Shoe Whore? I've been to quite a few DSWs but this is by far the best looking location with dim lighting, sophisticated green and orange backdrop, neat and spacious aisles, and nice chairs for trying things on. Best yet, they carry my style and size and also have a separate backroom for discounted items. Service is friendly as the sales associate shared the methods in which I can get nice discounts for my future purchases. The only limitation is their small men's section but hey who's complaining when no one else is carrying those snazzy charcoal converse kicks for cheap?!
I'm falling in love with DSW...
I'm on my feet all day and I need comfy shoes to keep me moving. This DSW has a great selection of shoes and you can find great deals on their clearance rack!
Along with finding great deals, I have to say that they have the best piped in music around. You can't help but bob your head to the beat of the music as you browse around. I happened to have my 4 year old grandson with me during my visit to DSW - and the entertainment value of watching him dance in the aisles was absolutely priceless.
If you are in desperate need for dress shoes come here. I went here as a last minute place to buy dress shoes for an event I was going to. They have a wide range of selections and also has a clearance rack in case you want to save money.
I ended up buying some hush puppies for 65 dollars. It wasn't a bad price and the condition of it was really nice. Also very friendly workers.
AHHHHHH ~~ I hear the Shoe Angels singing ~~
This store is freaking awesome! It is HUGE and there are rows & rows & ROWS of shoes -- not like at Ross or Target -- more like the Nine West Outlet, except here, they have ALL KINDS OF BRANDS and ALL TYPES OF STYLES annnnnnd the styles are still in season!!!!!!
The room in the back is for all clearance items. I personally think it's a waste of time unless you're absolutely desperate. There's also a section for men's shoes so ladies, if you bring your significant other, just send him to the other side of the room to entertain himself!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they also have some amazing handbags here too. Shoes AND HANDBAGS -- I heart DSW!
Shopping tip -- don't bother trying to find a parking space in the cramped parking lot right in front of the store -- you'll get stuck in parking lot hell. Instead, park in the newly built garage by driving around to the back. Trust me, it's not that far and you save yourself a lot of headache.
OK...what am I doing writing a review for this place?
Am I turning metro-sexual? No, it can't be!
I always blame the wifey for dragging me to this place but this is the one shoe store I don't mind being dragged to. A typical guy shopper goes in, gets stuff, go pay and gets out. A typical gal goes in and wanders every nook and cranny from side to side and up and down. I, for one don't have such patience when it comes to browsing shoes with the wifey; however, this place is different.
They do have a nice shoe selections for the ladies but they also have a decent selections for the guys. I've bought 2 pairs of dress shoes here and at a discount price. They have brand names from Kenneth Cole to Stacy Adams. If you get lucky, you can get a Red Tag sale and save 70% off from original price. They also have 50% off and 25% off according to the color code. Not unlike the stupid color coded government alert warning. So if you see Red Tags all over the place, it usually means a good thing. Plus, you can join as a member and be eligible to save more moolah.
Besides, someone once said, "Only a fool pays full price."
Read above review.. Imma not a clothes whore.. Nor am I a shoe slut either.. haha.. I see what I like and i just buy it.. No if, ands, or butts.. Takes me bout 15minutes total to see what i like and I just get 'em..
Anyways.. just needed some dress shoes cuz I left all my formal
-ish in LA.. DSW had a great selection and I just found what I liked..
I would of given them 5stars but I found a pair of dress shoes i liked in the sale racks but the shoes were different sizes : ( Luckily had a backup.. Service folks were super nice.. But... damn.. those 1st pair of shoes would of been nice.. Doahhh!!
I once went in to "browse" and went home with 5 pairs of shoes. But for less than $200 total, how could I resist! The sales here are great, and their membership is the best thing ever! You get a $5 GC for your birthday, and then you get points everytime you shop. You get 10 points per dollar (for regular, non-sale merchandise), and when you get 1500 points ($150 spent), they send you a $10 GC. They also have double points day, but it's usually hard for me to remember to make it. Their selection of women's shoes is impressive, but sadly it is more limited for men. Who cares though? Men's shoes all look the same anyway!
Now if only they rented out closet space for shoes...
After work, I decided to pay DSW a visit after checking out a potential sofa for my pad at Cost Plus. I'm so good at distracting even myself. Focus! I bought the most comfortable black and gray heels and I needed another pair of black flats. Two for the price of one - can't beat that!
Okay, so this huge shoe store is pretty sweet. Room to roam the aisles filled with shoes all standing at attention hoping to be plucked and purchased. The place definitely has a decent selection compared to Shoe Pavilion. For the most part, if you want killer shoes that look amazing and they're just sitting right in front of your face with service to boot, you may want to stroll over to Nordstrom or some boutique and spend a bit more money. Believe it or not, you can get some killer shoes at DSW if you look hard enough. Not only do you get your cardio walking up and down the aisles, you can serve yourself (like Shoe Pavilion but way more organized)! For the independent shopper, How awesome is that? Way cool if you ask me. I don't have to ask someone to get shoes for me. You like what you see, try it on, and buy it if you like it. Nice one!
Minus one star for accessories. For the uber girly girl moments, you're better off shopping at Forever 21. Overall, sweet deals to be had.
How much is too much??? Maybe its because I'm attracted to pretty colors and stiletto heels, or maybe its because I'm always up for great quality at a cheaper price. Either way DSW can cure any problem. Its wed. morning and I wake up realizing my boyfriend will be gone for 2 months and my dog is away at training school and I'm out of chocolate...Before my life completely resembles a country song, I get up and decide Ill go see what's going on in DC. I figure I'll head over to Walgreen's and pick up some chocolate to cure my pain when I look in the window and see a pair of 3 1/2 inch dark red heels staring at me. Like a puppy up for adoption I thought it would be mean to just pass them by so I went in..2 hours later I came out with 4 pairs of shoes 1 wallet and 1 new purse. Suddenly my heartbreak was cured and my feet were well dressed!!!
Here's to D.S.W. for being well organized, clean and a band-aid for heartbreak!!!!
It's a love/hate thing for me and DSW. I am easily distracted by the idea of looking at and possibly buying shoes be it high heels, flats, tennies, it doesn't matter especially since I'm here once a week at TJ's. Which reminds me you must try the Pot au chocolat. YUMMY! Ok that's for a different review.
I have to admit I do have a DSW frequent shopper card. It's fun to get the points for the $10 and $20 dollar certificates and the b-day certifcates.
My last trip 2 days ago would definitely be a hate or is that love since I didn't buy anything. How is it possible to look at what seems like hundreds of shoes and not find anything, even in clearance. I guess it's really a love thing since the last time I came I think I bought 6 pairs of shoes. I channel Imelda Marcos. But I did get some abfab Stuart Weitzman patent leather flats on clearance for $20. Can you say deal. These were almost $200 shoes. Don't get me wrong I'll spend $200 or more at Neiman too. Buy you never know what you might find here. Also in the back near the clearance there is sometimes some cute better leather bags from The Sak, Kenneth Cole, etc. Stuff that can feed my handbag problem but not break the bank like my Neiman's purchases.
Great shoes - deals deals deals in the back for the ladies! I got a pair of Guess heels for $26 that cost 119.00 at Nordy's so I would say go check em out. They have all types of shoes and decent prices. They also have good sales and friendly staff.
Efficient and Productive
If there was a quick analysis of a business that knew exactly who they were targeting and wanted people to have easy access to their wares as well as perusing at their leisure, I'd have to say DSW did a fantastic job of it.
I first came upon DSW back in the midwest in Colorado, to be exact, before it even hit the west coast. Somehow, entering the vast space that had nothing but rows and row of shoes on display was intimidating, to say the very least.
The only reason why I was here in Daly City and at their local DSW, was because I had worn my pretty little patent burgundy ballet flats and realized that my flip flops were still in my closet at home. Ballet flats were not going to work on the beach and the subsequent hike along the waters edge.
I found the cutest cutest pair of flip flops marked clearance to $1.99.
I'm still in the market for a fantastic pair of stiletto slingbacks to coordinate with a black dress I found at BR last weekend, so DSW, beware!
Much more classier and newer than the DT location.
I didn't expect much from DSW, because of the DT location. But I was wrong, They have great selection at great prices, especially the clearance section. I'm currently in love with wedges, so I got a pair of Roxy open-toe wedges at a bargain price. Plus, they gave my sister an extra 10% off for a little imperfection on her shoes.
I recommend it for everybody.
I can't believe they have so many size 6's! I went here on a shoe emergency. I needed black, covered toed shoes with a two inch heel and found 5 choices within minutes.
They even have a couple of Coach sneakers :D
This is heaven to me! I love shoes, and although I don't always come out with a new pair of shoes, I love getting lost in the aisles and aisles of shoes.
The selection is pretty good, and while I was working at Nordstrom, I'd see the exact same shoes at DSW that we carried, and for less than what I could get them for with my employee discount.
My boyfriend really doesn't understand how I find this pleasurable, but who cares!
Guess it's hit or miss here... I didn't find ANYTHING of interest even though I was more than willing to drop some dollars for shoes. It was one of those days, you know? I had the urge to just BUY something, but nope... didn't see anything I liked. *sigh*
I must say.. this location is WAAAYYYY better than the store in downtown. More parking and less people.
I went into this place thinking I was going to find some converse.Well,I didn't find any.The place is a decent size and I did see some cute shoes, but I didn't purchase any.
This place does have a wide selection, but it just depends on the taste that you have if you decide to purchase something.
I came here looking for ONE pair of shoes for a wedding - honest.
OK - I lie. I can never, ever go to DSW & come out with just 1 pair of shoes.
In all seriousness, I much prefer this DSW over the one in Union Sq.
For starters, there's a big parking lot and also, this location seems much more organized and clean. The staff is also very friendly and I was frequently asked whether I found what I was looking for or did I need any help. The discount shoe section is not as large as the Union Sq location but I managed to find 2 pairs of dressy black shoes for less than $30 each.
And in case you were wondering, I left with 4 pairs (yes, I am a typical shoe-loving gal with too many pairs of shoes).
I guess I should preface this by saying that I've NEVER been to any DSW. Onto the review...
From the outside you get the impression that this place would be small, but it's pretty spacious. It's very clean and organized, and the floor staff was friendly.
I wanted a brown, pointy-toed pump. I didn't find that, but I got a pair of pointy-toed brown shoes (Unisa, $49.95) that were adequate for my needs, though my feet hurt after wearing them for an hour.
I wanted a pair of those non-skid thingies that you stick to the bottom of shoes so that you don't fall on your ass, but they don't carry those! Aren't those a staple for shoe stores??
I think I'll be back when I have an income again--I saw a pair of sexy red heels that I was drooling over ;) Or maybe I'll go to the one downtown (I assume it's bigger than this place).
You can't go wrong here. I like the space of this place and seems a lot better than the one out in downtown SF. Depending on what look you are going for you will definitely find something for any occasion.
not as much selection as the santa clara store.
i went mid-week and everything in a size 6 or 6.5 that i liked was taken. i notice that when i shop in daly city.
DSW, I love thee. Well, most of the time. But who the hell is cleaning out Daly City's 11s?!?!? I can RARELY find an 11 on clearance to save my life, and even on the racks they are pretty sparse. LAME. How am I supposed to keep up my sprawling shoe collection if I can only shop at Nordstrom Rack!?!?
I'll start by saying that it's easier to park here than ever before. I haven't purchased anything here yet ( I have to really love it with shoes), but I browse often. There are some very cute shoes here along with friendly, welcoming staff. Definitely check here before the malls for affordable shoes.
Don't walk in here just thinking you're going to "browse" because I promise you, you will end up buying something!
I prefer this location vs the one in downtown. Downtown may carry a bigger selection but it's also crowded and a pain to drive to. I was surprised that this location carried LCD TVs showing football. Since this place isn't as crowded, you might be able to find your shoe size if you have small feet. The prices are good and the DSW rewards program (it's free) helps you save. You get a $10 coupon (about 3 month expiration date and you can even combine them with other ones) for every $100 or so you spend. There are double points day and you could get those reward certificates even faster. Look around the clearance section for deals.
Whoa, Nelly!! DSW in Daly City.. Now that can be a deadly thing for me... Shoes are my addiction.. I came here on a mission to find some work shoes and totally scored on a pair of BCBG pumps for $41.00.. I also scored Kenneth Cole flats for $31.95.. I was in heaven. So many shoes, so little time. I definitely will be coming here a lot now that DSW is in my area. My feet will love me but my wallet won't. =)
I love love love DSW!!! The one in Westlake particularly because it's alot less busy and I can actually hear myself think at this one. I like the fact that they have a HUGE shoe selection and even better....you don't have to ask the staff for your size and wait for them to go and fetch it for you. Like the shoe? Look for your size......not there? Move on to the next. I bought 3 pairs of shoes here the other day and I felt GREAT!
When I heard that a DSW shoe store was opening in the Westlake Shopping Center I was excited because I love shoes. They have a huge selection of shoes neatly displayed and below the display you can help yourself to your size. The bad thing was most of the shoes I was looking for they didn't have my size. They were mostly sizes 7, 8, and 9. I think they forgot about people with smaller feet.
I needed some shoes. I went in. I bought shoes. The end. Why is that so complicated?
Since most of their stock are closeout inventory they dont always have the most trendy styles. However they do have a huge selection of shoes. Most of the times that I've gone in to "browse" I've come out with a pair of shoes. I enjoy shopping here because the store is always clean and organized. Best of all customer service is excellent!
On my way to the zoo, I see a what looks to be somewhat new DSW. Excited to see this and thinking it is going to be bad ass because its in the SF area, we go after the zoo. After circling the parking lot for a good 20 minutes and dealing with idiot drivers who got their DL on http://www.imafreakini..., i find a spot and we head on in. WTF? This place is 1/3 of the size as ours in San Jose! The selection sucked! I was absolutely disappointed at this store.
SHOES! ....this place is huge w/ a good collection of designer shoes...iono what those 2 are talkin about, cuz i'm happy :)
why did it take me so long to venture in?! smack dab between walgreens and starbucks (okay, there's a few businesses in between, but i digress), i'm always walking by as i run errands and grab a quick caffeine fix during my daughter's hula class nearby, or before/after meetings at the kiddies school. had a little extra time one day and was in need of a new pair of black knee boots...and scored the most comfortable yet stylish and not cheap-looking at all suede pair at a decent price! the store was clean and well organized - not like the shoe pavilion (RIP) stores i'm used to trolling in the fidi during the lunch hour. some decent brands (nine west, kenneth cole, anne klein) at discount prices, with a pretty good selection of sizes. i didn't even make it into the regular shoe section, i was stuck in the boot section for quite some time! workers were friendly and capable enough and i was able to get in and out w/ a purchase in a short amount of time (good thing i didn't browse the whole store!) i will definitely be back....
i love venturing into this dsw when im in the westlake plaza.. besides i might as well make my trip worthwhile since i had to fight for that parking space.. but, i love this dsw because its not crowded at all.. and their selection is decent.. i gave it 5 stars because i just got myself 2 really really cute boots from here yesterday
