I, unlike my friend denorama, am a definite shoe whore.  I have too many shoes to fit in my closet (unless you count the closet floor and don't mind that one show might be under a pile of clothes and the other could be under the bed.)  But I like to think of myself as a "recycler" of sorts, since I donate and sell shoes almost as quickly as I pick up a new pair...or two.

DSW can be paradise.  But it is, alas, often hit or miss.  This location is the best I've been to in the metroplex, but there are still days when I wander the aisles of the megawarehouse for over an hour with no finds.

Last weekend was one of the more fruitful experiences at DSW, though--I "managed" to get 5 pairs of shoes for under $300.  I'm known to triple-check the clearance sections, and I'm glad I did last time, since I found two pairs of Marc Jacobs shoes the third time around--I know, I couldn't believe I'd missed them twice, either.

I'm a fan, I just wish they had a water fountain and some better aircon in the summer--sometimes I feel faint after so much difficult eye-exercise...I may be getting squint lines! Oh no!

Okay...let me premise this by saying I do not buy lots of shoes.  I'm not one of these gals with a closet full of top end shoes.  I'm so flat-footed that all shoes go in the trash in 6 months regardless of how well they are made. Yes, I walk like the keep on truckin' guy from the 70's.

But when I went into DSW I sort of had this weird out-of-body-zen-shoe moment.  It was good.  A friend and I shopped for shoes for over 2 hours.  I wore every shoe in the place at least twice--I know, ew gross, but I had the little footy things on.

At the end of the night I had one pair of boots and three pairs of shoes from various high end shoe peddlers.  Yes, it's true, the Guess pumps make your butt look marvey.  I spent a whopping $86 dollars.

My best shoe buddy-who is a self proclaimed shoe-hound spent $110 and got two pair...one was originally priced $400.  I can't even imagine spending $400 on a pair of shoes.  They were red.  Enough said.

So I'm cheap........but hell, I still look good and always get compliments on my shoes.  This place has everything from pumas, to Kenneth Cole, and even to boot from NY.  Why pay more than you have too?  Plus now they have this thing that for every $250 you spend you get $25 off your next purchase and they send you $10 off monthly...combined...you really start to see the savings.
