Review from Yumiko K.
I love DRY Soda because:
- It has so many interesting flavours. (Love Blood Orange!)
- It has a tasting room in Pioneer Square. ($6 for tasting and 4 packs of DRY Soda!)
They now have 8 different flavours, and all of them taste subtly sweet and excellent with food/on their own/in cocktails. The lady working in the tasting room was super friendly and knowledgeable about food pairing options. Who else would talk about soda and food pairing??!! This is especially fantastic for someone, like myself, who doesn't want alcoholic drinks but wants something to drink besides water with meals.
Unfortunately, their tasting room is open on weekdays only. If you happen to have a day off hanging out in Pioneer Square, you should definitely pay a visit to DRY Soda. -

This place is fun! My cousins and I were watching TV and were being introduce to this dry soda frenzy. We realized it was in Seattle and planned our day to visit!
The guy who helped us was super nice and we were able to sample all the flavors they had. I was surprised we were able to sample them for free ! It was really fun and he taught us all there was to know about Dry Soda.
We ended up buying a few and my favorite was the vanilla bean.
it's pretty pricey for a few bottles but I think it was just a fun experience. -

First time having dry soda.
Loved the lavender flavor.
Kids won't. -

I don't drink sodas. I hate stuff that's too sweet and I can't stand fake sugar. Met the CEO last night and had a chance to try a few, and was blown away. Just bought a bunch and am going to do a tasting with my daughters, ages 5 and 7. What a wonderful product that's healthy and tastes great!

I've never been to the tasting room, but I've tried their soda. It's amazing! I really dislike the overly sugared soda that one usually gets. It overwhelms any meal you eat, and it really just isn't that good. These dry sodas are delicious alone (it's a subtle but good flavor) and fantastic as a drink to pair with food. I really wish this stuff was more available, because I'd love to have it with a restaurant meal. I've mostly had their lavender soda, but I want to try the others.
My dad couldn't taste the lavender. I don't know why. I've always been very sensitive to different flavors (I always went straight for the all-natural cereals because I disliked the taste of the preservatives in the kid cereals).
I want them to come up with a ginger soda. I've had, and enjoyed, ginger ale, but I'd love a lower sugar version. I'm hoping to try more soon. -

I absolutely love the cucumber soda! It is so refreshing & not too sweet. I found DRY soda as alternative to Diet Coke and couldn't have broken my DC addiction without it. Looking forward to trying the new lime.

I spied this new brand at a local sandwhich shop and decided to give it a shot. I tried vanilla bean and while it has flavor its just not good. Plain and simple. Wont get it again.

It's nice that it's easy ingredients list, but I don't like the flavor.

I saw the lavendar on my recent trip to bevmo and bought it as a novelty. I drank it and was hooked.
It's a very simple soda with only 4 ingredients: purified carbonated water, cane sugar, natural extracts and Phosphoric acid (because you still have to get a little poison in you.)
My only gripe is that it costs $7 for a 4 pack and there's a lack of flavors at both bevmo's in my area.
BTW thanks Kati for the free passes. -

Keep up the good work, Dry Soda.

Love Dry soda, although I haven't been to the tasting room.
Take a pint glass, pour in half a bottle of vanilla bean, and fill the rest with orange juice (not from concentrate). It's like drinking a creamsicle without the brain freeze. Best non-alcoholic mix ever. Probably would go well with gin, too.
Then again, my wife thought it was gross (though she kept stealing sips, so maybe it wasn't that bad). -
Review from Katy H.
After first trying the cucumber flavor over a year ago, I'm addicted. In fact, each new flavor I try is better than the last!
I tried lavender and thought, "This is it. This is MY flavor!"
But then I had blood orange, and then I had rhubarb, and juniper.
Talk about creative! What will they come up with next? I can't wait. Stop in for a tasting, buy a bottle (or a case) and you won't regret it. The only trouble is... which flavor will you choose? -
Review from Ivan L.
I can't recommend the product but I can recommend a tasting at Dry Soda. I used to have an office above them and we'd come down occasionally to sample. The very idea of a soda tasting is a bit silly and usually one of the clowns I came in with would begin to challenge the server on that very concept. Then, onto the drinks. Giving out samples has to be counter productive for Dry Soda. Most everything tastes the same with only very minor hints of difference. I don't understand.

Haven't made it to the tasting room yet but every time I see a flavor in the store I buy it! The lavender is my personal favorite of the bunch. A great flavor, subtle yet definitely there. Sweet but not too sweet. Fizzy and mmm mmm good.
I love a good soda or fizzy beverage but I find your regular cola-type sodas way too sweet and the seltzer water flavored beverages not sweet enough. I found my happy medium with Dry Soda! Can't wait to visit the tasting room soon. -
Review from Jason R.
Like many reviews, this is for the soda itself. I hope to visit their tasting room someday, but...
The soda is dangerously addictive. The flavors are refreshing, and the light hand with sugar keeps the drink crisp. I love the lemongrass soda. I agree that these sodas would complement a good meal, and I can't wait to bring some to a nice spring picnic.
It's not a five *yet* but may eek its way up there as I try more. -
Review from Dianna D.
These sodas are really good. I don't like how sweet the soda is nowadays (I usually have to dilute them with water) so this brand was made perfectly to my tastes.
I tried the blood orange, rhubarb, and lemongrass. I would have to say the lemongrass was by far the tastiest, but maybe I am just biased because I really enjoy sour and citrus-y taste of squeezed lemons in plain sparkling water. -

Sorry...over a year ago I was all about 5 stars for Rhubarb Dry Soda then they went and changed it. I thought it was just a new bottle, but it is really sweet now and doesn't taste the same at all. I have no idea why they would ruin such a good thing?! :(

Since I stopped drinking booze about 6 years ago, I have been on the look out for a beverage to accomplish the task that wine and sometimes beer completed for me back in the drunk days - pair well with food.
I basically resigned myself to Pellegrino long ago, which is fine. It doesn't overwhelm the flavor of what's on my plate the way a soda, juice or coffee would and it offers a bit more excitement than a glass of water. Ho-hum.
I was DELIGHTED to find Dry Soda about a year ago for all of these reasons. This is a local company that creates slightly sweetened soda that is meant to be paired with good food. Hell, it's meant to be served in a Champagne flute - even more fun for the girl who drinks Pellegrino out of wine glasses.
At present there are four flavors: Lavender, Lemongrass, Kumquat and Rhubarb.
Lavender was the first one I tried ( I really like eating flowers). Great flavor and according to the Dry Soda website is best paired with cheese courses, duck, pork, desserts and chocolate.
Next I tried Kumquat - like a very subtle orange soda, but not at all comparable to say, an orange flavored Talking Rain. Great, refreshing, very, very nice. Suggested pairings: Oysters, mussels, sweet leafy greens, duck, white fish and risotto (though I would venture to guess it would really depend on the preparation).
Lemongrass next - what a nice one. Very tangy, very dry. Pairs with the obvious Asian foods, also suggested is shellfish, goat cheese and asparagus.
It took me a really long time to get around to Rhubarb. It has some floaties in it and it's the only on that isn't clear. But man - NUMMY. Crispy, sweeter than the others, sort of reminiscent of apple cider. Don't fear it - guzzle it. Pairings: Cow based dishes, and comfort foods.
I have found it at Chandler's on Lake Union, Uwajamaya, Whole Foods and QFC at Harvard and Broadway.

Sooo....
I'm not sure I should be writing this where all can see, but I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway.
I had a bit of an issue at dinner last night.
On the menu: Dry Soda
My predicament: No Lavendar
Readily available: Cucumber
And you see where this is going.
Now, I've had the pleasure that is Lavendar... But do I do the same with Cucumber? How will Lavendar feel? Can I keep these crazy escapades under wraps and still enjoy them both without jealousy getting in the way?
Not likely... since I am greedy and selfish and I want them both, all of the time, sometimes even AT the same time. *gasp*
Cucumber was equally delicious like it's flowery counterpart but just a scoatch more masculine. Refreshing and satisfying.
Let's see if I can keep this up. Did I mention I've got Rhubarb in the fridge? This could get ugly... but for now, I drink. And I enjoy. And isn't that what matters most?Listed in: Miscellany in Seattle., Local Yokel., BottleShops, Dry Soda

Why not spice up your next dinner party with a little bubbly? Not Champagne, that is sooo last week. I'm talking Dry Soda, the wave of the future! It's all the rage in soda sophistication.
Dry soda is not actually, physically, dry soda. No, it's not in powder form like baking soda. The term "dry" is used much like you would refer to a dry wine. In fact, Dry Soda was created to offer the same sort of complement to fine cuisine that you might expect from your favorite vintage. When you visit the headquarters in Pioneer Square, you can even sit for a tasting to sample all the flavors! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and more than happy to share some sips of soda with you while explaining the best food pairings for each flavor.
The flavors are exotic, but all very subtle and refreshing. You can choose from Juniper Berry, Kumquat, Vanilla Bean, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Rhubarb. They each stand on their own nicely, but if you want the full effect you can bring some home with the handy-dandy little food-pairing guide and go gourmet! A stop at Dry Soda is a fun foray into culinary chic, and the goodies you take home will make for an unexpected twist to your next shindig, whether you're stirring up cocktails or cooking fine cuisine.Listed in: It's Hip to P Square

Delicious! Refreshing! And oh-so-guilt-free!
I try to stay away from HFC-laden soda in general, but my ginger ale and cream soda cravings are alive and kicking.
That's why Vanilla Bean Dry Soda is so awesome. Its effervescence-ty subtle vanilla flavor satiates those sugar yearnings at just 60 calories.
Next time I have guests in town, the Dry Soda tasting room is totally going to be on their itinerary.
Added bonus: "You can't take liquids in your carry-on? Too expensive to check it? Oh no!...What? You want to leave your Dry Soda with me? ." Muahahah. (No seriously, that's how I tried all seven delicious flavors in the first place) -

Originally I started buying DRY Soda as a non-alcoholic alternative.... then I tried one of their cocktail recipes from online.... it was the one with whiskey & rhubarb DRY Soda in it... let's just say I am back to water as a non-alcoholic alternative.

Sorry, I just can't get on the DRY Sodawagon. The diluted, barely there flavors don't do it for me. And the thought of drinking lavender flavor makes me want to throw up. An extra Star cause DRY Soda is a local company, uses natural ingredients, and has cool packaging and visuals.

5 stars JUST for their Cucumber soda.
Seriously.
I haven't been to the tasting room yet, but I've been on the look-out for their Cucumber soda for about a month and finally found it at the Yellow Leaf Cupcake Co today. And... oh my god, it tasted like I was drinking a cucumber and it was somewhat strange but somehow a beautiful and addicting experience.
I've also had the Juniper Berry, Lavender, and Lemongrass. Those were all okay but did not really excite my taste buds at all. The Cucumber was a different story and the one I'll be having from now on.
PS: The people that were around me when I was drinking it for the first time probably thought I was nuts. -

Awesome alternative to sicky-sweet sodas.. pop in to their head quarters to buy up some Dry Soda! They even have a little bar where you can ask to taste flavors before you buy them. The sales lady was super duper nice and we chatted it up for a while. I brought home an assortment of their four flavors and my boyfriend and I had fun pairing them with different dinner & desserts! We don't drink so this place is an awesome find!!
Their website says; "all-natural culinary soda, DRY is non-caffeinated, flavored with fruit and herb extracts, carbonated with fine champagne-style bubbles, and sweetened with a small amount of pure cane sugar. In addition, each bottle of DRY Soda contains only 50-70 calories" - rad, it will help me stay thin too!Listed in: I heart Seattle!

Review from Amy B.
Dry Soda is perhaps the best beverage I've ever passed through my lips. Not only does it taste *exactly* how it should it also smells DIVINE. The flavors of lemongrass, rhubarb, lavender, and kumquat are exceptional.
The soda's are light, slightly sweet, not overwhelmingly carbonated, and delightful.
The website, http://www.drysoda.com gives food paring ideas as well as a few choice recipes.
The bottles retail for a little under $2 and are found at "better" grocery stores - Metropolitan Market, Whole Foods, etc (there is also a listing of restaurants where it is sold on the website). Worth every cent! -

Soda for those who can handle tastes above the usual high fructose corn syrup stuffed pablum.Compare this rating to my Jones soda rating.
Have you ever wondered why most soda and juice companies seem to stuff about 33 grams of high fructose corn syrup in 8 ounces of drink? Why does apple juice need to be as sweet as Coke? I've always wanted - at least as an quasi adult - a soda that was thirst quenching, not too sweet and tasty. Dry soda meets all those criteria and more.
Each bottle contains 16 grams of real sugar. No high fructose corn syrup, no weasel words "may contain", but real honest to goodness sugar and less then half the going rate for most soda.
The choice of flavors , at present, is limited to four. I tried: lavender, rhubarb and kumquat. All were dry, crisp and refreshing. I found the lavender well a bit too perfumed for my tastes, but others enjoyed it. The rhubarb is outstanding; it's refreshing, dry, clean and a bit reminiscent of rhubarb wine. I have not tried the lemongrass yet.
My only complaint is the price. At about $2 a bottle this stuff won't be a stock item in my fridge. Any soda that's pricier then beer is looking for a very limited, or nonexistent, market. -
Review from Denice R.
I don't waste my money buying pop and it's not good for a healthy body anyway but my exception when I do drink something like this is Dry Soda. It's refreshingly not too sweet.
I get it at Metropolitan Market on Admiral in West Seattle. My fav flavors are Lavender and Juniper Berry. Everybody I've served Dry Soda to so far has loved it.
It's an *adult* soda drink for adults with a J-O-B cuz it ain't cheap. -

This review is just for the soda...I haven't been to the tasting room. I picked up a four pack at Henry's last week and got one of each flavor (lavender, kumquat, rhubarb and lemongrass). As everyone else here has said, they are lightly sweet, almost more like a sparking water with an essence of flavor, but so sophisticated and with tiny bubbles. I enjoyed the lemongrass with Greek food and then the kumquat with pasta. I haven't figured out what to have the other 2 with yet...
Their website is awesome and I learned that the sodas were created by a woman who was pregnant and looking for something to pair with food when she couldn't drink wine (which is exactly the reason I bought them too!) It's so nice to have something elegant and tasty to drink with dinner that's also not bad for the baby because it's not loaded with corn syrup like other sodas.
Beautiful design, thoughtful, unique flavors and a great female-owned Seattle-based company. I think I've found a new thing to crave! -

I have to confess that while I'd heard of Dry Soda - I hadn't actually tried any until we visited their store in Seattle.
There we met a very nice gal running the tasting room/store who gave us a taste of their 4 current flavors. Very nice - not too sweet! And we now know more about the background behind the soda line, and even a few flavors they have in the works for later this year!
My hubby particularly liked the food pairings (he's a bit of a foodie) - and we thought of several friends that we need to introduce to Dry Soda.
A great free activity for tourists - like us - visiting Seattle. Yum! -

Dry Soda, you are my fizzy fantasy!
As a diabetic, I love having just a smidge of sugar from time to time, and this is just perfect. Dry Soda has just a touch of sugar and tons of beautiful flavor.
I am a big fan of the Lavender which I greatly enjoy consuming with a nice mellow white cheddar and crackers. Devine! -

My boyfriend and I tried their Tasting Room today, and it was very enjoyable. Got to try all the types they offer, and I was pleasantly surprised. My bf and I have been looking for an alternative to alchohol and regular soda drinks for a long time, and Dry Soda delivers. Ended up bring a Lavender soda with me during first Thursday art walk in Seattle. Rhubarb was a 2nd favorite, and both shocked me.
Definitely want to buy some to pair with food now. -

The guys at Dry Soda have such a keen sense of design, a visit to their Seattle headquarters will leave you inspired to paint your walls bright orange.
The soda tastings are unique and a lot of fun. Special "Dry Soda" champaign flutes are brought out so that you can sample the four different soda varieties. Although the flavors are very light, it is the simplicity of the ingredients and the subtlety of the sweetness that makes the soda surprisingly refreshing.
From the four flavor offerings, rhubarb was our favorite .. although all were worth bringing home to test out their food pairing recommendations. -

When was the last time you had a soda that was refreshing? Seriously, I love my Diet Coke, but it isn't exactly "light" despite being sugar-free. Enter Dry Soda. Not too sweet, not too flavored. Just right, Goldilocks! I love the Lemongrass.

I am addicted to this soda. I hate soda. All sugary things make my teeth hurt. Dry Soda only has 4 ingredients. A 5-year-old can pronounce them. Most importantly, it's friggin' delicious... Oh Lavender Soda... I crave it daily. If you don't want to get all cracked out like me, don't get into Dry Lavender Soda.

I really expected to love this soda. No artificial sweetener, not too sugary, interesting flavors ... should have been a home run. (One of my favorite homemade soft drinks is mineral water flavored with just a little bit of fruit juice.)
Rhubarb is one of my favorite things, so I tried that flavor as an accompaniment to an otherwise fantastic vegetarian meal at a very nice restaurant in Dry's native Seattle. I wish I could say I detected any hint of rhubarb in the stuff. Instead, it tasted like plastic. One of my dinner companions ordered the lemongrass Dry soda and couldn't finish it. I tasted some of hers and had pretty much the same reaction I had to the rhubarb. (Where's the lemongrass?)
Yes, the minimal sweetness could be a win. The problem is that the rest of the flavoring is even more minimal. As in, "nearly absent." -

On a weekend trip to Seattle my midwest friends and I decided to stop by and do a tasting. I was surprised that the soda didn't have more taste (even natural taste). Their flavors come from what I view as very strong ingredients, but the soda tastes watered down. Cool idea, good experience, great straws.
