We went to see Sound of Music last night, the performance was flawless. We did the dinner package. The place was packed for New Years Eve. So, the food arrived a bit 'not hot' however was good. But my review is based on the performance of the play. It was really good. All the actors did a great job. They cut one song to get us out by 11:45pm- which was fine. It was a sold out crowd and things can get behind. If you haven't seen it, you should go.
Just be sure you get your tickets from Drury Lane. When I first went online, they were going to be twice as much because I was rerouted to a different site, however, the graphics all said Drury Lane. Probably calling is best to be sure, the tickets were half the price as on-line. $90 each for full meal and show, an excellent deal :)

Do you know what I really love about this theater? That people still get dressed up to attend. That doesn't even happen on Broadway these days! It's so nice to see!

I've been attending plays at Drury Lane since I was a child, when my mom would bring my brother and I to see "A Christmas Carol" every year. Most recently, I attended performances of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "The Sound of Music," both of which were beautifully staged with gorgeous, elaborate sets and truly wonderful acting and singing. Honestly, I have seen better performances at Drury Lane than I have at many a theater in Chicago or New York. "The Sound of Music" had me in tears and I can assure you that I am not prone to crying at live performances!

I've also attended plays here with a friend who is hard of hearing, and Drury Lane is always willing to accommodate, which is very much appreciated. If I was rating the performances alone, I would absolutely give Drury Lane five solid stars.

But the theater itself has a very interesting feel to it. I can't quite decide if it's elegant or dated. Perhaps a bit of both. It does have a rich, warm feeling to it, but at the same time, it lacks some of the character of the Oriental or Chicago Theatres. It has a distinct conference facility feel to it.

On that note, Drury Lane does have several meeting/conference rooms and a large banquet room for wedding receptions. It also features a bar/restaurant, but both are in the lobby of the theater, which makes for a setting that is anything but intimate. I have had drinks and a cheese board at the bar previously and I will admit that the bartender was extremely polite, attentive and friendly, and the cheese itself was a pleasant surprise. But would I come for dinner before a show? No. Taking cheese out of the fridge is one thing, and preparing food is another. Anyway, I prefer a quiet restaurant where I'm not watching people pick up their tickets, take family pictures or search for the restrooms.

    A few other notes:

There is a parking lot in front of the theater, as well as a garage next door, both of which offer free parking. The theater also offers valet parking for a fee.

It's been my experience that performances rarely start on time - there's usually a 10-minute delay (which can be wonderful if you're running late).

You can save yourself about $12 a ticket if you book directly with the theater. You can't choose your seats, but you'll be given the best available at the time. If you're attending with a group, this option can save you a bundle.

Finally, as I noted above, people do dress-up to attend performances at Drury Lane. You won't see many folks in jeans or sweatshirts here. but ou will see sequins and velvet and cashmere. You might even see men in a suit jacket! So please dress accordingly.

It was a beautiful intimate theater where I watched Sound of Music. The production was absolutely amazing - from the cast to the orchestra to the stage production! I've seen PotO and Lion King in LV and think this was even better!

The seats were not super comfortable and by sitting in Row 3 (CC), I missed some of the view when it was too low.

Banquet hall and theater facility.  What do you expect?  I do not see it as glamorous or fancy- it just is what it is. Things are in good repair, However, they are rather generic. It does not have an old school ambiance- it feels like a hotel lobby to me.  I have been here for plays in the way back past and very recently for a dinner.

First off- DO NOT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE if you are coming from the city.  They neglect to tell you that you CANNOT exit Cermack road if you use an IPASS.  The next exit puts you on I 83 (?) southbound (wrong direction) and you must go about 5 miles in the pitch dark until you can turn around in some suburb that begins with a W.  After you get all of that god forsaken mess sorted out, they say to follow Spring road slightly right.  In fact, you must make a full right turn onto a road that is (again) pitch dark and filled with condos (and does not look like it will take you anywhere near a theater).  It is not a SLIGHT follow of the road.  Just my opinion after circling for 45 minutes, but at least 20 colleagues and I agreed that they could have made the directions a SMIDGE clearer.

So after this great adventure, I was over an hour late to my dinner, at least I was not the only one.  The food was well prepared, all of the various dishes at our table were eaten!  The servers were quite friendly and helpful.

We had quite the laugh at all of the young possibly under aged people and just cheap of age people- peeking in our ballroom seeing if they could snag a drink at the open bar.  There must have been at LEAST 15-20 couples.  It would seem that Drury Lane might have staff that are positioned outside of events to prevent this from happening. Yes, we had a large event going.  Yes, everyone at the event knew each other, and no, they were not scoping the facilities.  They were all eying the bar.

The parking gets quite full but the valet who was there the last night I was was wonderful.

All in all- Drury Lane is an OK experience.  The facilities are nothing spectacular, the company makes the evening.  Be careful with the directions, you can lose a ton of time trying to find the place!

Drury Lane was alllllright. I mean The venue is beautiful, clean, and has plentiful parking. What else does it have? Mediocre food at best.

We came here for sunday brunch to meet some of my friend's family. We came late for our reservations and the hostess didnt seem to mind. We were seated and almost instantly poured a glass of champagne. Since We has drank the night before, this was a FANTASTIC pick-me-up for the residual hangover. They served OJ too...so we all know what that turned into...BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS! The food was presented beautifully in chaffing dishes. There was an omelette guy, a fresh doughnut maker guy, and a carving station. The eggs benidict seemed like it was sitting out for way too long as well as some of the other things.

Again the service was good. The dishes needed better turnover but otherwise I am sure it would be fresh. It just wasn't worth  the 30 bucks per person.

The room that we were in was the main brunch area but apparently they rent it out for special occasions. On this occassion they were holding an aerobics class. How fun.

We all had a blast and got aquainted so Drury lane served its purpose but i need is for the food to be fresher.

    Again Mediocre at best.

We came here to watch Aida and had a great time here. It was a bit of a trek for us because we were coming from downtown Chicago.  Thankfully the theater had a private parking lot and was free.  Bathrooms in the theater were plentiful and clean.  The box office was friendly and quick to serve us when we were picking up our will call tickets.  Sound in the theater was great. There is no bad seat in the house. We were on the side and were still able to see the entire stage and all the performers.  The seating was comfortable and there was A LOT of leg room.

AIDA was a great show. Great singing and great costumes. We even got our tickets for half off regular price through Goldstar.  To purchase half off tickets, click here: https://www.goldstar.c...

This is my favorite theater by a long shot! I started going here when I worked in the area and used to get free tickets. Now I am a season ticket holder and love going back!

Going to Drury Lane is so much more than just going to see a play. Drury Lane has beautiful chandeliers right when you walk in the door that set the tone for the evening. The ambiance of the place is rich and comfortable all at the same time.

We tried the bar food last time and were impressed for the cheap price we paid. The service at the bar is excellent. Our bartender had a lot of personality and made sure we were always happy. The crab cakes were excellent. We both had burgers that were ok. More my husbands style than mine so he ate 1 1/2. The wine selection was great and all of it was extremely affordable. The best part was there was no wait and we got to just walk into the play when we finished.

We ordered dessert before the show started and our server had our seats saved and our dessert waiting. The cheesecake was awesome. Anyone who loves desserts has to try it!

Men do not worry they have TV's in the bar playing all the games. So you will not have to worry about missing the whole game.

I have sat in all the different sections and can say there is no bad seat in the theater. I do not care for the first 3 rows but they are still not bad seats.

I recommend dressing up if you go. Most men wear slacks and a nice shirt but you will see the occasional suit. You will never feel over or under dressed. We have seen some men in jeans and a nice shirt. We prefer getting all dressed up ties and dresses for us! Make an occasion out of it because Drury Lane is not just a play but an experience.

Play was great, food was ok considering the price.

First, the meal:  I had the caesar salad and strip steak.  Caesar salad...hard to mess that up.  It was fine.  The strip steak was dry and overcooked, had good flavor though.  The other people at our table that got strip steak said the same thing.  The birthday boy had gnocchi w/ short ribs and said it was really good...I'll be getting that next time.  I should mention that our server was great, I wish I could remember his name.

The play we saw, Spamalot, was really really good.  It was hilarious, entertaining, great actors.  I was highly impressed.  Glad we made it out in the crummy weather to see this play.  Bravo!

Right now there is some construction going on.  So it was difficult for people to find restrooms and the bar at intermission.  The coat check person, Ruth, was very nice and helpful to everyone that seemed to be lost.

I like Drury Lane in general.  Next time though, I'll most likely just come for the play and skip dinner.

A great place to see quality theater for a reasonable price.  Drury Lane has been able to attract talent that rivals the bigger theaters downtown.  Featuring mostly classic works (Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Annie), expect to see a grey-haired crowd who demand (and are not disappointed) by first-rate service, plenty of parking, a nice bar with lots of barstools, and almost no bad seats in the theater itself.  The ambiance is rich, old-fashioned, and very comfortable.  Do not expect cutting edge theater that rocks your world, but do be charmed and enchanted by a lovely evening out.  I can't speak for the restaurant in-house, but the Oakbrook area has plenty of good restaurants nearby.

We saw SPAMALOT here.  A first rate production.  The music was great, the singing was exceptional and the dancing was, well, dancing.  This show is funny, funny, funny, especially if you love non-sensical and non-linear British humor.  Ok, if you are Jewish, gay, Finnish or French, I hope you can take a few jokes lobbed your way!

The theater is smallish and the view from every seat is great.  There is plenty of legroom, more than at the downtown places.  The decor is very dated though, 70s kitsch.  I suppose it goes with the demographic.  Definitely a much older crowd - I think there must be large organized groups of seniors coming en masse - maybe the buses load up at the old folks home?

I've never been here for a wedding, or lavish party...however I have been here for a play/event or two. It has much beauty potential ...however its not really for the younger crowd.

This place fills to the gills with the 'more mature' audience which makes me feel like I am at my grandmother's. Sit up straight, don't slurp, fold legs to the right....This, or get the dagger eyes.

The venue, however, is intimate, and I do not think there is a bad seat in the house. Not a completely bad place to go if you like the off Broadway scene.

My cousin's daughter got married and my mother made me go. "Janet always comes to our weddings."
"Mom, I eloped.  Nobody came to my wedding."
"Well, your brothers', she was at theirs.  We're her only family left, you know."
Italian moms, I argue, are better than Jewish moms at using guilt to get what they want.
So I drove through a snowstorm to my cousin's kid's wedding.

I was late so I had the valet park my car.  First impression of Drury Lane: nice!  You know, because they parked my car for me... in a snowstorm.  They also had a coat check and both were free of charge allowing me to leave nice holiday size tips for the workers.

I think there were two or three weddings going on that night.  I calculate in my head how much money Drury Lane is taking in on events that simply mark the entrance of two people into an institution that will work them harder than they have any idea.  I then congratulate myself on not contributing to this scam, especially since I am in the 40% that didn't make it to forever.

The space is really impressive, very luxurious feeling.  The food was mediocre, but I think all banquet food is.  What impressed me most about Drury Lane was the service.  The employees here are really on top of their game.  The banquet servers didn't skip a beat and were all over the seven courses we were served.  The coat check girls went out of their way to find me a pen when I needed one and the valet saved me from losing yet another glove this winter.

So, if you are silly enough to spend this amount of money showing off to your friends at your ability to get a man to put a ring on it then I recommend Drury Lane.  However, it's a much better investment to put the money toward a down payment on a house.  Or better yet: a 401K.  At least then if you join me in the 40% and the market goes bad you won't be stuck living with your ex until the damn thing sells.  I'm just sayin'.

I LOVE Drury Lane for the theatre.  Your feet actually don't have to be under your seat you have leg room.  The theatre is always freezing or 100 degrees so you have to layer but that is the only downside.  I often buy my tickets on http://www.goldstar.com which has half price tickets all the time.

Drury Lane was taken over by the orginal families son a few years ago and he has done an amazing job bringing awesome plays and broadway to the suburbs.

I have not eaten at Drury Lane in years but I remember it being good.

I had junior and senior prom here and it was pretty nice, but that was so long ago.

My best friend had his wedding here last weekend.  I forgot how nice the place was.  From what he told me, the prices were actually a lot cheaper than a lot of other banquet places.  We were using the two big rooms in the back hall.  He had his ceremony and reception here.

The whole atmosphere is just pretty magnificent.  There are huge chandeliers dropping from the ceiling and lots of space.  The dance floor is always small, but you can always dance on the non wooden area...

It was damn delicious!  Everyone is in their sunday morning getups from church and other gatherings.  People and service was just great.

For X-mas this year, my wife got me tickets for Spamalot at Drury Lane. I had never been to Drury Lane, so I didn't know what to expect. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised. They have a very nice theater, and from the look of it, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. We had drinks while we waited for the doors to open and the bartenders were very nice as well. Next time there is a show we are interested in, we will definitely try the dinner package as well. We were kinda disappointed we didn't do that this time since it seems like a fun evening.

We went to this place this past Sunday for my sister's birthday.  This place is massive!  And so is the buffet.  But looks can be decieving.  When we walked into the brunch buffet, seems like there is a lot of food; however, there are duplicate tables on the other side of the same foods.

Anyways, the food was good but not great.  I guess since the price is decent ($25), the food matched up with it. You get unlimited champagne, tea, and coffee with the brunch buffet.  The buffet consisted of a carving station with ham, roast beef, and turkey.  There was also a pasta station where you can create your own pasta dish. Then there was your standard omelette station and scramble eggs, eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, etc.  They had oysters, mussels, and shrimps.  Also, fruit and dessert as usual.  The desserts on the table are not that great.  Save your tummy for some of the fresh mini-donuts they have.  They are so bad but so delicious.  (Suggestion: Top your mini-donuts with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with hot fudge--AWESOME!).

So, if your on a diet, don't come here.  LOL.  Otherwise, it's a nice place to gather with friends and family for a Sunday brunch for a decent price.

This is a fun place to go for plays and feel a little more laid back than your downtown theatre.  The theatre is small and there's not a bad seat in the house.  The prices for the shows are very reasonable and it's nice to be able to have drinks and/or a meal before or after the show without having to leave the building.  The meal price is reasonable as well... $18 for a 3-course meal... or you can buy a dinner theatre ticket for the show and the meal is included.

You'll find a large number of elderly people attending, but don't let this discourage you (unless you get the snoring grandma next to you like I did this last time).  I've gone with my mom (who doesn't have white hair) and with a group of girlfriends and we've always enjoyed ourselves.

Parking is free, it's not as crowded as downtown, and it's about half the price.  What more can you ask for??

Well, I can say that I've been to Drury Lane for multiple reasons, and all were excellent...from what I recall.

    1) Saw "A Christmas Story" here like, 8 years ago or so.  From what I remember, it was an intimate show, but pretty well done.

    2) My friend Bev had her cotillion here 6 years ago, and it was the largest cotillion anyone I know had ever been to.  It felt like a wedding...and it was huge even by wedding standards.  Since I didn't help plan the event, I'm not sure how the management is, but it was a hell of a party.

    3) Came here a couple times for their massive brunch buffet, most recently this past Easter.

Protip 1: The selection is only half as big as it appears.  The food repeats past the halfway point.

Protip 2: Don't get tunnel vision.  The carving stations are on the edges, where you can get lamb with mint jelly...something you don't often see at brunch.  Also, along the wall of the entrance is the "kid" section, which includes mini corn dogs.  Awesome!

Sure, it's pricey, and you need reservations if you don't want to be waiting forever for a table.  But overall, there's a huge selection of food, I've never seen an empty station, and everything is delicious.  Can't wait for the next big family gathering to come back!

I'm only rating the Sunday Brunch.   Daaaamn it was so good.  An entire banquet room filled from end to end with delicious high quality food.  I read one review where a person compaired it to Golden Coral but that is totally not the case.  They have a meat carving station, a beautifully arranged fruit table, a pasta bar, waffles made right in front of you, omlettes to order and the kids bar is nothing to scoff at either.  I found myself going back for seconds on the mini corn dogs.  hehe.    There were a few things that could do with some changing, like the desserts.  You could tell they were premade and looks like something you would find at Sam's Club and the pasta station is right next to the entrance so you get a huge whiff of garlic right as you enter.

I don't know what he spent per plate, but the brunch was fabulous.
Oysters Rockefella, Salmon, Beef, Ham, Turkey, Omlets cooked to order, Keesh (sp?), & 3 tables full of good food.
They also had a desert bar, & a kids bar.
The waiter kept our champaign glasses full.

    Da brunch = da BOMB!

Seriously, save up some cash and take your parents to Sunday brunch here. They will love you forever (well, they already do).

The food spread is phenomenal. I come here every Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas and am never disappointed in the buffet options (and I am sooo not a buffet person). Word to the wise, though, obviously holidays are more crowded, but a non-holiday Sunday brunch offers more food options and calmer service. Before committing to any table, walk the ENTIRE length of the room. Some tables are duplicates, and some are NOT! You don't want to miss out!

The non-coffee/tea drinks are now a separate charge and no free refills - minus one star and boo!

Servers are ok, but they cover wide areas and you may not see them for a while. Flag them when you can!

Also, try to request a table NOT in the English Room - it is quite a walk from the buffet tables, and just not as much fun. See if you can grab a table in the Courtyard - tres pretty.

While a little pricey, they accomodate bridal showers, birthday parties and family gatherings quite well.

You can park your own vehicle, but prepare to stalk people who are leaving. The lot / garage are big, but always crowded unless you arrive for the first seatings.

And bring your camera. This place will remind you of your grandparents style, but you can always take your picture with the Debbie Reynolds poster. She's ALWAYS around somehwere!

P.S. You MUST have a reservation, no matter when you go, so phone first!

Saw Spam-a-lot here recently.  One of the nicer venues in the Chicago area to see a Broadway show.  Seating was clean and comfortable.  Parking was no charge and no hassle.

I remember the first time I came here was for a school field trip when I was in like 3rd grade. We watched A Christmas Carol and I fell in love with this place. This theatre is soo nice I love it! I came back here in Feb for the Funny Girl production. It was phenomenal!! The actors are so good. There's plenty of parking available in their private lot. I came here with a friend and bought tickets the day of the show. They had great seats available and we were sitting in the 4th row! I was surprised they even had any availablitiy since the theatre was packed. The crowd that comes here is older. Drury Lane has so much more to offer besides just a theatre. It also has a banquet hall, dining room, restaurant, bistro, and of course a bar. Check their website for more info. They also offer senior discount and large group discounts.

I came here for Sunday brunch.  The food was okay.  I sampled maybe a third of the food they were offering and nothing really stood out.  The desserts weren't that great which to me was very disappointing.  The best thing I had that day was probably the fresh piece of honeydew from the fruit section.  But I can't really complain since I didn't have to pay.

This place is huge so it's great for large family gatherings which is why I was there.  Decorations are a bit gaudy for my taste but I can see how this would be a great place to hold a party or to watch a show.  Plenty of parking so that's not a problem either.  I've only been here once for brunch so obviously my rating is based on that.

Just saw the closing night production of 'Rag Time' here. Beautiful theater with comfortable seats. Had a fantastic NY strip dinner followed by an amazing tiramisu. Love the restaurant and the theater :-).

I went here today to see the King & I.  Not only was it a great performance, this is a really nice place.  Very elegant, classy and very well kept and clean.  The staff was very friendly and helpful and there is plenty of convenient parking here.  The seats were very comfortable but it was offset being that they were very close together.  With me being a tall guy, I felt somewhat cramped. This was the only complaint that I had.

I saw my friend perform here last night.  Great theater, on the bigger side, yet intimate.  It's a little cheesy, the decor, but it's a great stage, great seating, and great sound.  They should have more exits to get out of the theater, and parking is a little confusing.  I found out later I parked in the hotel part.  Overall though, it's a good theater to check out.  Miss Saigon is coming in December :).

I was here to see the Miss Saigon show for the first time.  The location is convenient you don't have to fight a crown like in downtown and parking is free.  The  look of the place as you walk in is pretty nice not impressive.  For the most part a well dressed crown clean theater and good sound and visibility from all seats.  The staff was courteous and helpful.  During intermission the bar soon became crowded the bartender did an outstanding job serving everyone in a timely fashion.  The show was really good and and I would come to this venue again for a show.  I still would like to see a performance in Chicago first.

Meh...standing in long lines, getting elbowed by the elderly, and tripping over unsupervised children to get standard buffet fare is not what I call a 5 star brunch. But yet I make the trek to Drury Lane for brunch every Easter. The food isn't terrible, but if it wasn't for my parents strong dislike of 'change' I would never step foot in Drury Lane again.

This place is extremely racist.  When you walk in, it's like you're back in the Jim Crowe era.  The old ladies who are in charge are very racist and rude, and the only color they recognize is white.  They openly said to us that they are not having anymore ethnic weddings  . . . what the hell?!!!!  Jesse Jackson needs to rainbow push this place out of Oak Brook.

Great place for reasonably priced theater, especially if you're a GoldStar member. Cozy seats, great acoustics - I can't wait to go again. I'd like to spend a few days in the area and see what's up.

Dinner and theater, good for corporate events.  My company has used them for years and they have great service.  The food is pretty good for a giant banquet place.  I thought the seafood and pasta choices were usually the best.  It's usually musical theater, which I don't care for, but the productions are good if you are into it.

That's my second time been to Drury lane, first time I went their banquet hall for party, roomy, very nice atmosphere and food was standard. Second time, which is last week I went there for Miss Saigon show.  In general, great theater, small but great seating and great sound, just the decor is little bit old fashion style, but intimate. Good for Broadway show even though it is small so you can see the actors more closer, its a nice theater in Suburb area.

Went here for brunch on Easter.  OMG, this place was ridiculous, but it was Easter brunch, so that was to be expected.  I was a little puzzled by the layout of food for brunch.  I was also let down there wasn't an omelet station, or a waffle station or anything like waffles  (that I or my party saw).  Come on, other brunches in the area have those things, and Drury Lane didn't?  The meats were pretty good and the mashed potatoes were excellent, but other than that it was just a buffet.

I am typically a huge fan of the Drury Lane brunch but we had a reservation there for Mothers day and it was not very impressive. They upped the price for that day and then took away everything I really love about their brunch.

They normally have an omelette station as well as a waffle bar and a doughnut machine. I think it was replaced by extra carving stations which my husband really liked, but, and I think the majority of the ladies would agree with me, I love the breakfast stuff. It was Mother's Day and I truly love to go out for breakfast and brunch and specifically booked my reservation there so that I would have all that yummy breakfast stuff.

Not only did they do away with the breakfast but they also didn't have the fresh berries there. They did have the strawberries but no blue, rasp or blackberries. The little muffins were very dry, The scrambled eggs were runny and the bacon was soggy.

There was plenty of lunch and dinner stuff which all tasted good, but I think I speak for all the ladies and mothers. Save your carving stations for Father's Day, keep the breakfast stuff for the Mom's.
