I stay here occasionally because it's right across the street from my work, it's $100/night less than the Marriott across the street and just as nice... (actually I've had some really disgusting experiences at the Marriott that would make me inclined to say the Drury Inn is nicer)... People at my work make fun of me for staying there when I could stay at the Townsend, but I don't mind...
The rooms are recently remodeled... It's easy and cheap ($10) to upgrade to a room with a seperate shower and jacuzzi tub w/ marble bathrooms...
I've gotten smoking rooms before when non wasn't available, and that was kind of nasty.
The housekeeping seems to be above average from other hotels I've stayed at in the Detroit area.
If you can put up with a slightly cheesey atmosphere it's not a bad place to stay.. the clientele is a different class of business traveler than other places... (more holiday innish)... they have a free happy hour ... and free breakfast .. And an indoor pool / hot tub.
