I stayed at the Drury Inn and Suites for a friend's wedding, and found them to be excellent in almost every way. Rooms were clean, service courteous, breakfast generous and mostly tasty with plenty of different options. The pool was pretty good, though I would have liked a bigger one. I thought the price was reasonable for what they offered, though more than I would normally want to pay.
They sent me a survey after I left and when I mentioned that I had had one problem (the pillows were lumpy) I got a nice note (I think a form response, but still a nice touch) saying that they were sorry my stay was not ideal and would check into my comment and see what could be done. The survey and the response showed that they cared what I thought of their service.
However, where they really went above and beyond to help me was after my stay. I accidentally left my cell phone charger in my room. I didn't have much hope of recovering it, but I decided to call them anyway and give it a try. It did take me a few calls to get someone who could help me, but I eventually talked to Donna, and after a few false starts, she tracked down my charger -- I believe still plugged into the wall where I left it! She immediately told me she would send it right back and asked for my address. Today it arrived on my doorstep. To me, that's true customer service. They did not say a word about charging me for shipping, as they surely could have since I'm the one who left it there to begin with. It was a very human interaction and kind gesture.
If the Greensboro Drury Inn is at all reflective of the company as a whole, I will certainly be looking to them for a place to stay if I need one in the future.
Yucky; kind of depressing and run down.
Got there late and had to prove that I had a reservation before they let me in (kind of not a good sign).
The first room I got reeked of cigarette smoke though it was "non-smoking"; they did give me another room (thus earning them another star from 1).
Think Days Inn-esque; I won't be back for work, but if I was on the road for a rugby road trip, I might go again.
