The prices are good, the milk is great, the employees are polite and efficiant. There's a good variety of dairy products and other snack foods available. What more could you ask for?

Living in So. Cali, I bet my fellow Yelpers that You, reader, have Not been to a drive-thru dairy mart where the milk is actually processed there!
In front, it looks like your normal drive-thru convenience store - but in actuality, right next to it, if you drive South, is the actual processing plant where they import cows from the 909 area to spurt their creamy juices (no pun intended, seriously!) haha! =)
So the milk they sell at this store is actually really fresh and in my mind, tastes more 'creamy.' Smooth and silky!
As for the milk you buy in your local grocery store - you don't know whether it's been 2 weeks since its actually been processed prior to being placed on the shelves, or even a month!
I take my milk Seriously! Milk is pure nourishment for your body. Yes, it 'does a body good.'
My friends call me the 'cereal killer' because I can devour and consume so much of it in a single setting - it's my favorite snack!Listed in: The Creme De La Crem! LT's…

Driftwood is actually a dairy processing plant right in El Monte and they use this store to sell some of their products. You know the milk is fresh because the processing plant is close by.
I really have a sensitive pallet for milk. With fresh milk you can really taste the (natural?) sweetness and smoothness of the milk, and this place delivers.
I purchased a 10 oz bottle of 2% for 69 cents and it really hit the spot. They also sell other stuff like cigs and chips but why would you go here for that? Just get the milk, 2 gal for $6.99. -

GOT MILK?
Good stuff. I pass by this place pretty often, but never thought much of it. The milk is delicious and inexpensive.
The service was whatever, but I purchased the low fat chocolate milk and that stuff was pretty sweet and rich =) about $.69
I had to make mac and cheese and wanted some good fresh milk for it. So I also purchased a 1/2 gallon of their 2%. about $1.69
When I left the lot I noticed the cute little cow.. awww.... -

I almost feel bad blemishing this place's perfect score.
I drove here to try the milk and chocolate milk because of all the raves. I ended up getting a small container of nonfat milk and the next size up of chocolate milk for $1.69, so the prices weren't too bad.
Nonfat Milk: It was good. It definitely tastes different from cheap super market milk (fresher) but I buy Trader Joe's organic milk and it really doesn't taste all that different to me. Of course, at $3/gallon, this stuff is half the price of TJ's Organic, but then again, this stuff isn't organic.
Chocolate Milk: Definitely very tasty. But the best ever? I find that hard to believe...
It's pretty awesome that you can just drive up, tell the guys what you want and they'll run and get it for you, though. If you want to stop and get out of the car to look around, you can do that too - just park next to the wall or anywhere not blocking the way.
If you're thinking about stopping by, they've also got all kinds of cookies, some ice creams, snacks, and of course, milk.
I guess from all the hype and from the fact that it's a dairy store, I was expecting more choices in milk (specifically non-homogenized; organic not a huge deal but would have been nice too). If you're thinking about giving it a try, I wouldn't let this review stop you, but unfortunately, it isn't worth the drive for me. But their fudge ice cream sure does sound good, maybe I'll update the review after I give that a try.

Growing up here in the area and friends living by, what is better than this drive through dairy mart? This is the main distribution center for Driftwood Dairy milk where you used to hear about the milk man making their deliveries. It's like a convenient store but you don't have to get out of the car to get stuff. Forget Circle K and 7-Eleven, this was the first on the block. When you are in a hurry, got to pick up items for a BBQ or a small party or get together, there are chips, dips, drinks, snacks. More of a historical landmark for me because I used to pass by this place every day from school or friend's house.

I am REALLY gonna show my age here....I have lived in El Monte my whole life...and have been going thru the drive thru dairy since I can remember...((My mother worked down the street from driftwood at Vons bakery for 30 year's!)) Does anyone remember the 3 cow's sitting in helicopters,((Becouse it is in the vicinity of the El Monte Airport.)) That were hanging from the yellow arch way over the drive thru??? They were soooo cute....I loved going there with my parent's...I loved those helicopter cow's!!! ((I wonder why they removed them?!?)) Also The milk was alway's fresh,((This is the actual main processing and distribution center for Driftwood Dairy milk !)) So you know where it came from.....dated and stamped with their address...I take my son's through all the time....they have a side walk sunday ice cream bar that we are addicted to !!!
And chocolate milk smooth and creamy....ahhh....memories... -

I remember when I was a kid my pops would come home from work, we'd all jump in the van and head off to the dairy fo boxes of half and half bars or fudgesicles.
They are as good today as they were back then...and inexpensive too!
Plus the chocolate milk is a must have. -

Gotta love drive-ins where you can pick up milk, beer, and a bag of chips without leaving your car! Person always gives me fresh milk (not milk that'll expire in a few days) and prices are very reasonable.
