A nice little store with a well-edited selection of designer clothing. I liked the style of the place (Very New York) and the friendliness of the man in charge (Not very New York), but I can't say I found much. This is a problem with small second hand stores - the odds are better at the Buffalo Exchange. But I would definitely wander by again on the off chance that I would pull out something since the owner's taste is very good.
Plus a star for the cool boots in the window that didn't fit me. Doh!
(This was the downtown location, which has a nice vibe if you don't mind the drilling from the street)
After just stopping in to the small location one time when I was in that neighborhood for a meeting, I must say I really like this shop and look forward to going back.
I like the owner very much and her no-pressure approach to selling used clothes in great condition. Small selection, but I'll keep trying. For sure.
What a great find! These stores are tiny, but a boon for those that lust after high-end designer clothing. You'll find selection varies from Prada to Rachel Pally, all items in great condition and very good prices. I took in a few items and walked out with new items myself. Saw Sevens and Joe's, as well as a beautiful chocolate satin evening gown and a Marc Jacobs bag.
The Madrona store is a little more conservative, while the Downtown location trends towards the funky. Selection appears to vary weekly. Owner is very nice and approachable. Only one dressing room at each location.
I went into Driftwood while scouting for a place to consign some of my own items. It is very small with a limited selection of items. All of the items are in excellent condition and brand name. The prices are probably a good deal compared to when they were new, but were still a little high for my taste. Due to the limited selection, I was not able to find anything I like here. It is also kind of strange to shop in such a small space. It made me less able to relax, since I was the only person there besides the shop keeper.
I may go back, but there are a lot of other consignment stores in Seattle that I think I prefer.
