Came here for an AAPI event on a Sunday. Parking on the street wasn't terrible. This building is kinda big and I definitely felt inspired while reading all those encouraging quotes.
Staffs were nice. The event had 2 food trucks parked outside and another vendor indoor. The queues weren't long and glad we tried Bombay Fast. Made a wooden frame and took a few cards. So glad to discover this space.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 9, 2019
I came here for a demonstration someone that I knew was giving. Didn't really know what this was but I quickly learned it's free event space! You can just book rooms/space there. That's it and that's pretty cool!
There is staff available, too. I'm not sure how they get paid or how this all works. I guess it's part of the insurance company contributing and being part of the community. That's fantastic!
When I was there I also saw some other classes that were going on and that was really nice to see.
They also provided us with hot water, a variety of tea bag offerings, coffee, let us use a laptop of theirs, and were very kind on top of it all! What a truly great space to give!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Stacey L.Madison, WI208011853265Nov 3, 2017
After years and years and years of walking past the DreamBank and having no idea what it was, I finally stopped in for the first time for a lunchtime chat with the co-founder of EatStreet.
About halfway back into the building there's a kitchen space that doubles as a group gathering spot and this is where we sat for the talk. They'd set up a camera in the back corner to do a webcast and had a TV for slides. The talk was fun and informative and doubled as a networking event.
DreamBank hosts a ton of activities throughout the month that are free and open to the public ranging from yoga to crafts to kids' activities. I'm still not 100% sure what they do when you just walk in randomly during non-event hours, but other reviewers have given me a better sense.
It's cool that they've taken the concept and run with it and made so many cool community-building opportunities available to the public. Looking forward to getting to know the space better!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Christina O.South San Francisco, CA119317411Feb 11, 2018
Came to the Dream Bank for a free valentines coaster making event. This place is sooo inspiring. I walked around and took a look at all the rooms prior to the event starting. I love all the decor, the old Bank door, all the quotes that are posted, and the keys hanging from the ceiling.
They offer many free crafting events, yoga, and workshops, as well as some $30+ events. There website has a list of all the upcoming events to sign up for, which is recommended rather than just popping in. This will assure your spot.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have some yummy complimentary snacks (Swedish fish packs, pretzels, chocolate covered graham crackers, fruit gummies, and goldfish crackers) as well as coffee and water.
The room was very spacious and the event was better than I expected. We were all provided with four approximately 6x6 wooden tiles and paint to create scrabble coasters. I was expecting to work on small tiles, but really loved the wooden boards.
Definitely look forward to attending more events here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 7, 2013
This place gets a solid 4.5 stars.
I don't know how I missed writing a review earlier but I LOVE the concept and LOVE LOVE the building.
The dated architecture from a time long forgotten as we keep building newer more pre-fabricated looking communities make you appreciate the original design and pride when marble and slate were molded to show artist-man-ship.
On to the concept: Pen to paper and make a dream a reality so you can later insure it. I guess, it's indoctrination at it's finest BUT HONEY CHILD they do it so well that "Hey! We will bite the apple"
There more than enough - ADULT activities during the day and at night from lunch and learns to resume building to knitting for the advanced to meet Sorority Sister Soledad O'Brien and get your book signed by her to
activities for the KIDS - learn to drive safely in our simulator, meet the first responders, write out your dreams and put them in your "safe bank" but produce results, learn to knit, learn to a, learn to b, then c. Did you catch that I love this place? It's interactive with exhibits and pretty enough to host future events.
I intend on booking for a Dane County Foster Teen event. More to come!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Rowan C.Mount Horeb, WI365147406Apr 24, 2013First to Review
We have visited the DreamBank for kids events on the weekends and I have also attended various seminar and classes for adults here.
Different exhibits to help visualize your dreams and play with that idea. Grab a dream key and put it in the vault or take home to help you focus on your goals.
Kid friendly, super polite and attentive staff/ dream curators.
Vibe/ atmosphere is fun, friendly, stay and hang out for a coffee, listen to a speaker or sit in on a class, play with the cool touch screen TV's and get inspired.
NIcely finished interior & clean bathrooms.
Our kids always want to come here.
Totally new type of venue you should definitely check out!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jenna R.Philadelphia, PA1497311May 2, 2016
DreamBank is truly such a happy place! I have attended various professional development events, and have popped in during special events like Madison's Winter Festival when they were serving hot chocolate and facilitating family friendly activities in their space.
Beyond these events, I worked with Lindsey whose position title is "Dream Curator" in order to hold an event for the volunteer organization I'm involved in just a few weeks ago in mid-April. Lindsey was quick to answer all of my questions, showed us around the space, and ultimately helped us decide it was a perfect venue for our needs.
DreamBank is beautiful, and so many Madisonians do not know it exists! To center a whole space around the idea of positive psychology is incredible, and even though our event focused on our organization; guests still left knowing more about DreamBank and it's purpose too.
The events and exhibits hosted at DreamBank are always rotating and touch on everything from crafty Pinterest-style activities (supplies provided by DreamBank!), to landing your dream job or pursuing a small business venture. Seriously, there is something for everyone of any age! Do yourself a favor and check it out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anh Bao T.Madison, WI2803418Nov 25, 2017
This place is the stuff of dreams, literally. I was walking by and totally thought it was an insurance company, but I saw some happy people listening to a speaker next to a free event poster so I decided to give it a visit. I later found out they host free speakers and exhibitions here weekly and that it is a free space to work and network. I recommend coming in and checking it out and definitely coming for their craft nights.

I think this is my first experience with a true "concept" establishment.
What is Dreambank? It's all focused on looking within and how you relate to your community in order to help you achieve your dreams.
Abstract, I know. You walk into an entirely pleasant historical building with various exercises and exhibits about dreams (the future goal-making kind, not the "I dreamt my teeth fell out" kind) and community ideas. You can post your dreams on a wall, do little games where you allocate resources towards conceptual ideas, and take photos of yourself in front of an inspiring tableau. Oh, and in case you need to rest your feet, have a brief snack or drink, or use the restroom, you can do that too.
Most interestingly, American Family Insurance does not make overt efforts to sell to you. Insurance brochures are barely displayed in one area, and no employees ask you about insurance products.
Interesting place. Worth a stop.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Corey D.Madison, WI1559865653Nov 14, 2013
It's high time I write a review for one of my favorite Capitol businesses.
And given the number of workshops I've attended and the fact that these fine folks insure my home and car, it should come at no surprise that they are 5 stars through and through. What an awesome space to have in our community, chock full of resources, education and ways to deeper connect with friends and neighbors. I hope this space nets them the return on their investment of building out this beautiful historic space, I'd hate to see them close up shop in a few years.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
