Review from F C.

I bought a beautiful antique armoire there for a reasonable price.
It makes me feel good every time I look at it.
The very nice owner helped me get it in my vehicle. A very
good experience shopping there. -

UPDATE 7/24/2010: The owner, Stacy, is very nice and helpful. I can see I got a bad day, sort of like going to dinner on Sunday when it's the chef's day off. This place is truly one of a kind, and has a lot of interior designer business for good reason.
Stacy stocks old gates, ironwork, old doors! so hard to find in SF Bay Area, and many other vintage items. Her prices are the best I've seen in the Bay Area. I have my eye on a reclaimed, leaded window from a cabinet and it is very reasonably prices.

UPDATE 7/11/2010: The owner contacted me and that makes me feel better. This IS a cute store and I will probably go back and try it again, hoping for better service.
I had such high hopes for this store! Always cute, always items outside and lots of traffic in and out for such a small store located in a weird, out of the way, industrial area near a lumber store and nursery across the street. Dream is within walking distance to my house, and I finally stopped in with another officianado of antiques.
THEY HAVE REALLY REALLY CUTE STUFF!
They also had someone working there that:
1. Didn't say hello or indicate she worked there;
2. Was sitting on a chair; and
3. READING!!!!
When we finally figured out she worked there, she barely removed the book she was reading from her sight to answer our questions. When I asked for a specific item, she made random motion to a garage. It wasn't until we were loaded into the car with our 2 dogs in their cages did we realize that she meant there was an annex to the store.
Too bad! Someone else will probably get my business since Ms. Librarian couldn't get out of her book. No matter how cute your store is, it does not, STORE OWNERS, MANAGERS AND CLERKS YOU NEED TO GET THIS: Nothing IN your store makes up for LACK OF SERVICE.

Review from Melisa B.
San Mateo, CA
Even though I own a store I also shop at other stores. I know right? I do love Dream. The selection is really interesting and when I'm looking to furnish a client's home I always pop in to check the wares. I find myself lusting after giant antique mantles, very antique wrought iron fence pieces and chandeliers. The prices are in the upper stratosphere but if you're looking for a specific French style antique or an interesting architectural tidbit, then yes, you should stop in. After you stop in and love yourself some Dream, you should move on down the road and come visit me!
