Bought a Saab Wagon from Tommy and Steve, and while Tommy was easy to work with and on top of all the paperwork; Steve didn't describe the car very accurately over the phone. There is a difference between rock chips and the car looking like it was towed behind a gravel truck the better part of its life. Other than a few minor dings and scratches, that was my biggest disappointment as I am going to have to have the entire front end re-painted, which was a cost I was not anticipating. Being in the car business myself, I know they could have done a lot better. Live and learn.

Hi Hunter ,
Honestly this is the first I have heard about your unhappiness with the paint . I do feel as another business owner , that the car was sold to you on a wholesale purchase , as you stated you were a dealer . The reason this is an important fact to point out in this public forum , is to convey the difference between a " wholesale " dealer to dealer transaction as opposed to a "retail " sell to the general public .
Bottom line though , it was not our intention to mislead you in anyway , If you feel you were we are sorry . - Ashley M.Bend, OR263528Jul 6, 2014
Worse place to buy a car ever!!!!!! We bought a 2009 VW Tuareg had it for 5 months, dropped 2200 on it and we were still having issues. So we sold it, for half what we paid.
Also when we bought the car they promised us a second key fab. They said they ordered it, kept saying it would be in "next week" bugged them several times and never heard from them.
My friend also bought a "nice car" from them and had had to drop tons of money on it.
These guys are the devil! They know what they are doing! How can you put families in these unsafe cars that break down?!!! Please do not give them your business or money!
You've been warned!
Now called high desert auto. Try to trick you with a name change, don't be fooled!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - John R.Bellingham, WA01Jul 2, 2014
I also just bought a car long distance from Dream Car Auto in Bend. We looked at so many cars online, ran so many auto checks, and talked to so many people that by the time we found the model Audi that we were looking for, fatigue had set in.
Like everything else, and especially buying a car sight unseen: do your due diligence! We should have insisted on high resolution photos instead of the fuzzy web site renditions. We should have found an independent mechanic to go over it instead of just talking to the one who "does a lot of work for them."
We found Tommy easy to deal with over the phone, and the paperwork and auto hauler pickup went fine. But the car itself is pretty beat up. Those fuzzy web photos hide a lot of the details. Surprise dents that are visible past 10 feet away, missing headrests in back, missing parcel shelf for the hatch back, broken latches on armrest and sun shade, missing spare tire and trunk tools like the factory jack and lug wrench. And what sounds like a dual mass flywheel rattle or timing chain rattle. The front end shakes side-to-side under acceleration in low rpms.
They still claim in email after we asked about these things that the book value is $3,000 over what we paid. Problem is that is for an "excellent" condition car, not a "fair" to "good" condition, which is $1,000 - $1,500 LESS than we paid. In our conversations, they offered up no negative information at all. I mean, they need to sell cars to make a living, but when dealing with a long distance buyer you might expect a bit more in the way of honest descriptions of the shortcomings and missing bits... So in summary, buyer beware.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
