We had Lisa Lang and Elizabeth run a space themed birthday party for our kids and they did an amazing job! There were about 20 kids between the ages of 3-6. Lisa and Elizabeth kept everyone engaged, had very imaginative games and made sure every kid felt involved even as they made our birthday kids feel special.
Seriously, who needs Pump it Up? Dream Big is fabulous in teaching the kids how to have fun using their imagination.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Summer Camp is great. I'd been looking for a half-day theater program for my son and this is amazing. I knew it was going to be good because my son had taken classes from the founder/director, at his school, but my expectations were blown away. The classes are small and they really are doing some serious work on understanding what it takes to put on a musical (in a week of 3 hour sessions). The kids have a wide range of interests --- but they're all happy. I'm shocked with the level of thinking and dedication they're bringing out in my son -- after 2 days! This is doubly amazing because he's the only boy in the class and nearly refused to attend the first day. Now he's asking his sister to run lines with him and can't wait for the next class. Needless to say, this will NOT be our last session with Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop!
Specialties
Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop offers a variety of drama classes to children ages 2-18. Our classes are designed to foster creativity, self-expression and teamwork and, of course, to be a whole lot of fun! All of our teachers have had years of experience in theatre as performers, directors, choreographers and/or writers and have a passion for teaching kids in the performing arts. Some of our most popular classes are musical theatre, improvisation, story drama and dramatic yoga. Our classes are year-round and throughout the summer we offer unique theme-based 1-week drama camps. We also do birthday parties.
History
Established in 2006
Dream Big began in 2006 with one class of four students. It was a small class with big dreams! Over four years later, we have now grown to offer over 15 classes in and around the Chicagoland area, serving over 150 students per quarter. We currently offer our classes out of three locations in Andersonville and Lakeview as well as in numerous schools including Bell, Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School, Belding, Blaine, Boone, Hawthorne, Newberry, Peirce and Romona.
Meet the Business Owner: Lisa L.
Lisa Lang is the Founder and Artistic Director of Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop. She graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Elementary Education and Theatre Arts. Lisa has been performing since the age of five and for the past eleven years has been sharing her love of the theatre with children of all ages. Lisa Lang has taught Music at Lincoln School in Highland Park, Music and Drama at the AUTEC School on Andros Island, Bahamas as well as The Hyde Park Day School and was the Lower School Drama Coordinator at the Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School for six years, where she developed their K-4 Drama Program. Lisa has performed all over Chicago with companies including Metropolis Performing Arts Center, Light Opera Works and Chicago Kids Company. Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop is Lisa's big dream where she works to provide students a safe environment to express themselves creatively through the performing arts while having lots of fun!
