Neighborhood: Logan CircleIn a city of stores like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel everywhere I looked, it was such a joy to find Dragonfly. There are such exotic and unique items here.
The owner, Kim, is also socially active. I went to a talk on Tibet here, and I discovered that it was just part of a whole weekend of events like Tibetan music, dance and song.
What has made me go back to Dragonfly are the furniture and home decor items here like hand woven rugs,Tibetan painted chests, and Chinese tables.
There is one piece here that I have been drooling over: an antique apothecary chest that Kim told me dates back to mid-1800s China. Now, that would be a great place to store all of my beads and bobbles.

Dragonfly is a home decor gallery that opened up about a year ago on a small street in the Logan Circle neighborhood. The gallery is off the beaten track and doesn't get a lot of foot traffic, but the gallery is large and I highly suggest you take a detour to check out the predominantly Asian contemporary furnishings. The pieces featured in this renovated automobile garage are hand picked by the gallery owner, Kim Hessler. She travels throughout Asia and selects the pieces ranging from paintings, to armoires, to lamps and dishes. The gallery is intriguing and has a lot to offer anyone looking to furnish their home or anyone looking to check out something new in this up and coming neighborhood.
