These petit fours are so delicious! And they're pretty and make fantastic displays, too. Perfect as a walk-around dessert. They will customize for you (I had them spell out my wedding date for my engagement party). The folks were really nice and accomodating in general.
The downside is that we had to go to Sausalito to pick them up, but big whoop. Oh, and they're not super cheap. But I think they're a great dessert for pre-wedding parties or a chic alternative for wedding cake.

I almost totally forgot to include Dragonfly cakes in my reviews, and about a thousand other places, but it's Dragonfly cake time in this review! I also tried them at an Appel and Frank event up in SF and the owners set up a booth and had them out to try. Can I just say that I bought 3 boxes of this? They're beautiful to look at, smell delicious, and taste extraordinary. I love petit fours... or at least I used to when I ate sugar and desserts. Have been off sugar for a few months now, but may just have to cheat to have just one of these little cakes! They're made from the freshest of ingredients and I totally believe that, they taste amazing!
For baby showers, wedding favors, bridal favors, I'd go with these little cakes!!! Next time I'm in Sausalito I'll pay them a visit. But order it online, they come frozen I think...

And remember if you're allergic to almonds, you may want to contact them to see if they can make non-nutty petit fours...

It's true that before I met Brooks I never really knew that those little cakes were called petit fours. And even whenever I had tried them they were usually dry and boring. Then I was introduced to Dragonfly Cakes and have a new found appreciation for these delectable creations. I've since kept my eyes open and have been fortunate to find Dragonfly Cakes at many different events this past year- b-day parties, weddings, work parties...
Though food quality and customer service are usually a hard combination to find Brooks and her crew have mastered both. When you call to make an order or ask even some questions they treat you like family.
I will recommend these guys to everyone I know!
Thank you for being such a great business and part of the community!

These are a truly special treat. Not only are they presented perfectly, they taste as good as well...
My favorite is the Vanilla-Orange (think orange creamsicle), but you will also find me eating the Chocolate (which is odd, because I don't normally like chocolate), Apricot and Lemon flavors. Who am I kidding, I eat all of the flavors.
I was first introduced to this at Woodlands Market, but then found them again at a birthday party and again when I stayed at the Ritz on the East coast. I now order from Dragonfly for all of my events, get togethers or even random special occasions.

I used to think of petit fours as small, dry peices of cake. THEN I tried Dragonfly! Small, moist bites of yummy goodness! I have ordered these as thank you gifts and as favors for our banquet fund raiser. Brook is awesome, awesome, awesome! Now I need to find another excuse to order more!
I haven't even eaten the petits fours yet, but I am still giving Dragonfly 5 stars because of how lovely Brooke - the owner (I assume she is the owner) - is. I called her to order some petits fours, which I love, for my 40th birthday party. She was easy going and helpful on the phone, and when I finally decided that I would spend the extra $15 to have them UPS'd to me and gave Brooke my address, she offered to drop them off because my work is near her home. I was having a bad day and it was just such a NICE offer. When we finally coordinated drop off, the petits fours (numbered 1-40) looked beautiful, she made me an extra pink one just for me, AND made a handful of additional ones for my kids. I just really appreciated that kind of customer service, and I was having a really crappy week too, so it was really just what I needed.
I have no doubt they taste great, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow.
I actually ordered the all-occasion petits fours from Costco (4 dozen for $74.99 which includes 2nd day shipping). It was definitely a lot more economical than ordering from Dragonfly's website.
Since it is a special item made for Costco, the petits fours looked a little different than the ones listed on the Dragonfly website. (They're square, not diamond shaped and the designs were flowers and squiggly circles). The best part, however, was the order consisted of all 4 flavors (raspberry, vanilla-orange, lemon, and hazelnut). I got these for my sister's bridal shower and they were a big hit. Everyone thought they were so cute :)
The only petit four I had the opportunity of tasting was the hazelnut one and it was delicious and moist. The frosting was not too overpowering and sweet.
I also had a chance to talk to a Dragonfly employee on the phone and she was extremely helpful and nice. (There was a mix-up with the tracking number on my order).

Had these at an Appel and Frank event. They are the perfect Nicole snack:
Small
Comes in pretty colors
loaded with sugar
Still, others besides Nicole will enjoy these little crack-cakes.

I saw the reviews on Yelp about the petit fours at Dragonfly Cakes and I live in Sausalito, so thought I'd try them. The petit fours really are beautiful and delicious and I love the way they change the designs to match the season. This isn't a retail type of location, so it's best to check out their website to decide what you'd like and call them, before you show up there.
