i like dragon house but i think if your were to compare food its not as good as im hyping it up to be. i prolly eat there once a month only cuz i dont know too many trust worthy chinese resturants in union city. i like the war won ton soup. other than that everything taste like any other chinese resturant.
F.A.R sucks!hahahah jp.
I've lived in the Old Alvarado area all my life, and I've seen this place evolve and change hands. This place used to be a broke-down chinese joint set in a 60's style diner, changed hands a few time, cleaned up and renovated over the years, becoming an entirely new place of good eats. I'm just glad it ended up the way it currently is.
Being a former employee at Paddy's Coffee House, and you want lunch, you're limited to Toppings Too!, Bronco Billy's, or Dragon House if you can't get anyone else to buy any lunch/dinner for you.
I didn't mind that rotation of food, and I look forward to the Honey Walnut prawns. They're average at best, but still enjoyable.
"Lainy P." said it correctly when she said "the food is definitely worth the money".
The people are very nice, too. Awesome customer service.
Good sized portions, as well.

this place is actually pretty good...don't let the modest exterior fool you. i've only gotten take out so i have no idea what the dine in service is like. i've utilized their free delivery service several times. the prices are pretty reasonable and the portions are generous. their peking spare ribs are delicious.
This is your typical american styled chinese food. Very oily, msg geezy- some people like this but this is just not my style. Fast service and the waitresss is friendly though (very rare in most chinese restruants). Good place to stop by and grab something quick if you're not too picky about what you're eating.
The food is definitely worth the money. You cant ask for more. They deliver and the food always comes out fresh. Its not the best chinese food that ive eaten, but its not just okay. Try it.. youll like it

This is a pretty decent place. I'd passed it by several times and only tried it recently. Went there for lunch with a pretty picky foodie. He loved the food and so did I. Prawns with Stringbeans was tasty. I tried the prawn fried rice for takeout and it was again tasty. I'd definitely return for the food and the price. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.
This place may not look like much from the outside, but the food is awesome. As someone who's been born and raised in Union City, I also love this place because it was the first Chinese restaurant that I knew of to deliver to our area. They also offer up very fast and friendly service, and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for delivery. My favorite dishes there are the Green Bean Prawns and the Mongolian Beef. I no longer have Chinese Food cravings as they've been replaced more specifically by Dragon House cravings.
I think this is one of the best places to get chinese food in the tri city area. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because they don't deliver to my area. I crave their food sometimes, especially when I got to nasty buffets or these other mediocre chinese places. I usually get classics like "hong kong style pan fried noodles" or "honey walnut prawns." Even when you get take out they seperate EVERYTHING so the food doesn't get soggy by the time it gets to your house. Another bad thing is that you have to order at least $20 worth of food for delivery-which was bad for me when I was single, had a craving and no one else in my house ate chinese.
The service is good -- the food is decent. The first few bites of food are good..and then as you keep eating it, you realize that your mouth is all shiny and filled with grease. Then, the experience is not that great....but if you're too lazy to cook and want some Chinese food without a long drive..you can go here...
Love this place! Located on the outskirts of Union Landing, this lil hole in da wall does deliver! (no pun intended...well actually it was intentional hehe). Dining there, Picking up a to-go order, or delivery, I'm never disappointed. The shrimp or prawn friend rice is a staple at our house, mu shu vegetable or chicken is yum, and they can cook the chow fun with lil oil. Awesome comfort food and great service!

i remember when this place was called Pine Garden. When a giant sewer rat skiddaddles across the floor while you wait for your french fries, its time to go...and yes they served chinese. but the food was still pretty good.

Best Chinese food around. We order from work atleast once a week. Usually we have a very large order and we always opt for delivery. The lady who answers the phone is always pleasant. She always tells us that our order will take about thirty minutes to be delivered but we have never had to actually wait that long. Everything is good. I love the walnut prawns and kung pow prawns the most. The won ton soup is also VERY YUMMY!

We had the luncheon specials today, it was very good. My friend (yelper Chris K. ..his review also on this page) had the Mongolian Broccoli Beef and I had the Sesame Chicken. The prices are very reasonable and portions are huge. I'm lucky to be within walking distance of my house to this great place.
This place is great. I have only eaten here twice, 1 time for dinner, 1 time for lunch. I had the Salt-Pepper Pork Chops and the pan-fried noodles on those occasions.
Here's the skinny....wait was short, food came out pretty quick. Wait staff is good and attentive. Ambiance is your "hole-in-the-wall" location however it is one of those places that you come to eat and enjoy the food and not to bring your date to wine and dine!
This is another place that will be on my list of places to take good friends to and not be embarrassed about food quality. Definite thumbs up!

This place is litterly a hole in the wall. You'd never know about this place unless your very adventurous or someone referred you. I usually get the sweet & sour fish which is cubed, and the honey walnut prawns. The place is a little small maybe a capacity of 25 at max. Service compared to other Chinese places is great - they speak understandable English and prompt service. Don't mind the neighborhood it's in a very old area of the city.
This is my husband and I's favorite place for Chinese food!
They know us personally there, and memorized our order.
There aren't many places anymore that you can go to eat
and know everyone there. It may look like a hole-in-the wall,
but it's a nice family-oriented place with THE BEST Chinese food
ever. And with my long history of stomach problems, this is
the only Chinese place that hasn't given me a tummy ache
afterward. Oh, and the prices are ridiculously good!
YOU HAVE TO GO!!!!
I recommend: House Fried Rice and the Lemon Chicken!
Dragon House gets 5 stars from me!!!! I discovered this place when they first opened! I got a flyer in the mail and decided to try it. I normally do not eat chinese food because I got sick one time but wanted to risk it. They are absolutely GOOD! The Walnut Prawns is delicious!!!! My kids love their house chow mein! Anyways this is the only chinese food I will eat! Not to mention cheap & they deliver too!!!!

I read about this place on Yelp and thought I would try it out.
I went there for take out and ordered 3 dishes:
1. Schezwan Chicken.
2. Twice Cooked Pork
3. Hot and Spicy Egg Plant.
The service for takeout was good as I sat there for only 7-10 mins. The restaurant was empty when I first got there but 2 couples came in for dinner shortly thereafter.
The quantity was good, prices are very reasonable. So why did I give them 3 STARS, well here it goes.
The Chicken and Pork dish was acceptable, I have had much better.
The Eggplant dish sucked. It looked like someone threw boiled eggplant into a Pan and added some sauce and a whole bunch of Oil. -1 STAR.
-1/2 STAR for not giving any rice, have to buy Rice.
-1/2 STAR for a cold restaurant, I know I am being mean.
So Summary:
Recommend: Yes (good quantity for the price)
Will I go back: Yes, the chicken and Pork dishes were good. I have to try it once more to make a solid recommendation.
Romantic: From what I saw, that part of UC has an old time look and feel and this place has good window seats. I believe this can be a romantic inexpensively speaking.

You know I gotta give this place 4 stars. It's not the ambiance or the presentation. This place isn't fancy at all. It has been renovated but it's still a little hole in the wall cheap chinese food joint. That being said the people here are like family to those that know about this place and come here on a regular basis. Hell, even if they have never seen you before they will kill you with kindness.
The food is better than the tray table cheap chinese buffett that many people visit. You get a lot of food for your money and you can tell it was freshly prepared. Just pop a steaming hot snow pea in your mouth and find out.
I love their fried prawns and the sauce that comes with them.

Great place for Chinese food. They cook with love. The staff is always friendly. When I place my order on the phone for pickup, I never have to wait. They obviously know that the customer comes first!
I recommend the family dinners, they include alot of food for your buck!

I love this place! Generouse portions, nice, friendly staff, fresh food... what else could you ask for.
I get down every month or so, and every time, they remember who I am, and get my order just right. The prices are so reasonable, that I tip them extra just to ensure they stay in business for a long, long while!
Only thing I'd improve is the atmosphere, but it's not fine dining, but a quick lunch spot.
This is definitely one of my favorite places to have Chinese food. The portions are generous and the prices are so reasonable. It's a total hole-in-the wall and may not appeal to restaurant snots that need a pretty place to eat. However, if you're looking for friendly service and great food, this is the place!

By far, the cheapest sit-down Chinese Restaurant in UC! Big portions for a small price.
My bf and I got introduced to this when we got partly paid after house-sitting with a free lunch.
I love their salt-n-pepper pork, their sweet 'n sour pork, as well as their prawns with walnuts.
The main waitress is ultra sweet, and because they were doing so well, the place is newly renovated!
They even deliver!!
