10 reviews for Dr. Tatyana Borodulin, MD
Office doesn't seem to keep their posted business hours. If I call 10 minutes before 5 pm I get the exchange, same thing with 9:15 am. Come on - I have to accommodate these hours when working with them; shouldn't they hold up their end?
The two times I've been to see Dr. Borodulin, I've felt rushed and cut off.
This doctor's bedside manner leaves much to be desired. However, there are many excellent doctors with sub-par bedside manners, as I understand. Having said that, this doctor did not appear to be anywhere near the excellent mark, or even very competent. So where does that leave her?
I've had some fairly serious conditions recently that I had to self-diagnose over the Internet before I could get proper treatment for them. When I kept going to see the doctor, she was very nonchalant about my symptoms, kept the visits as brief as possible, and had no idea about how to proceed. After I was confident about my self-diagnoses, I had to LIE to this doctor and tell her these conditions run in my family (which they do not, of course), in order for her to actually take me seriously and properly diagnose and treat me.
This doctor also employs the most incompetent Russian-speaking doctors in her practice. Do yourself a favor- if you think this doctor is bad, NEVER book an appointment with the other doctor there. You will leave that appointment wondering if she even understood what you were saying.
The office? Well, you could be dying and they won't have room to fit you in. The receptionists are rude, unprofessional, and have no clue about basic medical issues. Their answering service also seems to answer calls much of the time, even when the office is supposed to be open, per posted hours. The one time I left a message with the answering service, nobody called me back.
Is this how medical offices are run in Russia? If so, I really wish this doctor would not bring her practice values here. I'm on the lookout for another primary care physician, for sure.
Obviously we all have different tastes in personality and look for different qualities in a doctor.
Especially when I'm a new patient, getting ready to strip down, I expect an introduction. When I first met Dr. Bourodulin, she did not even introduce herself to me. First big FLAG. If you're not interested in a doctor with bed-side manner, she may be the one for you. I, on the other hand, put it high on my list.
No personality from this one. May as well talk to a styrofoam 's'.
My husband has been a patient of Dr B for a few months and I just met her for the first time. She is no nonsense and doesn't sugar coat anything.
After many years at Kaiser, we are very pleased with how thorough Dr B is. Without going into details, she refers to specialists and explores every avenue, instead of just throwing an Rx at you. She also follows up to make sure you are proceeding on the right track.
The office receptionist and nurses were also really nice.
I am giving 1 star as her service does not deserve any better rate. I speak well both English and Russian and the only reason why I went to see dr Borodulin is because I needed a specific procedure that all European doctors know about. The problem is not that she has never heard about the procedure, the problem is that she doesn't care. She is probably doing her job, but she is obviously not the one who was born to be a doctor::(( Bottom line: My insurance will cover this visit, but I want my hour back (an hour of waiting and 2 minutes for the visit itself).
Dr Borodulin has been my PCP for almost 10 years - I wont go anywhere else even though we've moved farther away.
My husband and I started seeing her when she was just forming her own practice. She has a good sense of humor and is very professional and caring. She always returns our calls and she is very cautious/conservative when it comes to diagnosis and treatment.
Be prepared with questions and concerns before you see her - She seems to really appreciate that.
My wife and I started going to Dr. Borodulin in 2007. I've been twice, and my wife's been once. The office has been very accommodating, and I was able to get in to see Dr. Borodulin the same day I called.
She is very professional and thorough, and also quite friendly. I called the office back once for a question about medication, and got a prompt response (Dr. Borodulin reviews messages midday, and then her assistant calls patients back in the afternoon).
I've been going to Tatyana's practice for about 3 years now. My sister recommended her and I thought, well, maybe a Russian born doctor have actually preserved some caring towards her patients.
From the very minute I met her I quickly understood, this doctor is to the point no fluff and stuff. Which is ok with me as long as I am taken care of. She went onto maternity leave, and I patiently made appointments with another doctor, waiting for an appointment for weeks, but still, loyalty matters (I know, i need to get over this stuff). Anyway, to make long story unbearable, I just recently saw her again. And this is definitely my last time; I felt I was interrogated at super fast time, cut off on multiple occasions when I tried to explain the meds I took that made me sick. She sent me away to make some tests, with 0 advice on how to manage my condition in the interim. I made sure I got in to take an X-ray as soon as possible and called in today to see the results. The message from the doctor was: " the results are normal." Absolutely no information as to what I need to do to feel better, what I should or shouldn't do given the amount of discomfort I am experiencing. In short, 0 professionalism, 0 care, 0 time, 0 basic human empathy. I realize everyone has bad days, but I've waited for 3 years too long to figure out it's no bad day, just lack of care.
In a nutshell: I would not recommend Tatyana to anyone, unless you speak Russian and need someone who can communicate with you, I see no reason to stick to her. There are plenty excellent doctors in the Bay area, go take your business, health care, and time elsewhere.
A friend of mine has recommended Borodulin as a primary physician since her grandparents seem to like her. It took me a couple of days to persuade my grandmother to go. I should have stayed away. First of all, their receptionist is extremely rude and inpatient over the phone- completely unprofessional. Secondly, Borodulin kicked my grandmother out as soon as she found out my grandmother had medical in addition to medicare. My grandmother had high blood pressure at the time of the visit. Since when is kicking patients out appropriate? If she did not want to accept medical, she should have charged medicare and offered a self-pay option. What about that doctor-patient relationship that everyone talks about? I am shocked and disgusted.
Do not go there!
Dr. Borodulin has been my physician for four years. She's very competent and professional. Her diagnosis has been verified by the specialist as well. I highly recommend her.
