I have been going to Dr. Mieger for awhile now and each time is a positive experience.  They are always super friendly.  So much so that I thought, this can't be real.  But it really is.  Dr. Mieger is really sincere.  She totally remembered our last conversation from over a year ago so she really does listen!  :-)  Beyond that, they get you in and out without feeling rushed and if you need a little filling or something they usually do it right on the spot so you don't have to come back.  I used to hate the dentist, but it's not so bad now.  I do really like the experience I have had for the last four years with Dr. Mieger.

Probably the most positive human I have met...oh and she and her assistants are great at cleaning teeth.  A real enjoyable process altogether.

I went to Dr. Mieger based on the Yelp reviews, and everything about the cleaning and the quick checkup was fine.  But every time I go to my appointment, I seem to always get the time  wrong.  I felt like I was becoming completely senile or insane because the appointment times I wrote in my calendar have NEVER matched the appointment times they have in their system.  It's been at least 4 times, where I think I'm having a dental cleaning/checkup on one day and time, and it's really 2 days later at a different time.   Even this recent cleaning, which I got a confirmation call and confirmed the time 1 day before - I wrote down 10:30 AM - Thursday, Feb 28 on my outlook calendar, I get to the office at 10:24 AM and the office folks are glaring at me like I'm late.  They said my appointment was at 10:15.  Whaaaaaaaaaaat??  Am I crazy or are they?

Another time, they thought I was Dr. Keyser's patient and not Dr. Mieger's patient - so they couldn't find my file and I saw Dr. Keyser instead.  Whatever, I don't need this grief, I get enough pain and grief getting my teeth cleaned - I don't need to deal with lame, crazy staff who can't get appointments and which doctor is mine right.

I joined Yelp just to review Dr. Mieger and I wouldn't even give her one star if that was an option.  I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone go to Dr. Mieger.

The first time I saw her, I loved her.  She complimented me on my teeth - how beautiful and great they are.  Since I'm used to getting bad news, this was a nice new turn of events for me.

She filled two cavities in my back  molars, and when I got home I was unhappy with the way the edges felt.  That and she didn't make enough contact between the molars and the next teeth so that small amounts of food were getting lodged and causing discomfort.  I went back and told her that the fillings didn't feel right to me, all to be told that they were fine and to just floss more.

The next time I went, they neglected to take x-rays.  I admit that I should have forced the issue, but I didn't.

The next time - sure enough! - I needed a crown on one of the molars that she had just filled a year ago.  Why - because it's too hard to keep so much space entirely free of decay.  She did the crown that morning - which should have set off alarm bells - and I ended up needing a root canal.

I went to another dentist who confirmed that it should not be the case that if you go to the dentist every 6 months that you should ever need a crown or root canal.  But, since they neglected to take x-rays, they did not detect the decay.  If they had most likely I wouldn't have needed the crown and root canal!

I was so incredibly upset, that I refused to let Dr. Mieger even put the permanent crown on!  A friend of a friend who had a crown done through Dr. Mieger needed to have the permanent sawed off b/c she failed to put it on correctly.

BEWARE OF GOING TO DR. MIEGER.  I guarantee that you'll end up unhappy.  I'm the third person I know now who has ended up needing a crown.  If you want dental compliments at the cost of shoddy fillings, then Dr. Mieger is your person.

Best Dentist Ever!!  I found her through a referral when I developed a painful, painful toothache.  Turned out to require a root canal.  I was skeptical at first... don't root canals only happen to old people???  Well, she took the time to explain it to me, convince me that the root canal was the right way to go, and then referred me to a wonderful specialist (hmm... Dr. Mieger admits that root canals are not her specialty and gladly refers patients on...).  The whole time I was in her office (and in pain), she kept me in the best mood with her cheery, upbeat personality.  Dr. Mieger is a great dentist.  If you're in need of one, GO SEE HER!

Very disappointing my appointment with Dr Mieger was confirmed by Dr. Mieger's office the day before with an associate.  When I arrived I asked about the change in doctors, I as I had made an appointment with Dr. Lynn Mieger.  The receptionist was scattered and could not answer my questions, the other assistant she consulted was very flippant and dismissive that I was concerned about this type of change.  I did not have any confidence in this office after that and left.

I agree with the other Yelpers, Dr. Mieger is chipper and a little over-the-top when it comes to complimenting her patients' teefs.  She did the same to me and made me feel real "special" as I sat in the dentist's chair, waxing poetic about my teeth.  Later, when my friends (who are also Dr. Mieger's patients) and I conferred, we discovered that she used the same line on all of us, regarding how "genetically gifted" we were to have inherited "beautiful" rows of pearly whites from our parents.  Although we all have yellow snaggle teeth and overbites, she did make us feel pretty good about ourselves.  Thus, if you are afraid of the dentist, you should try her to get over those fears.  Also, she gives the standard free toothbrush and floss, and that is always a plus.

Based on my experience, she is good, but her dental hygienist . . Not so much.

I was liking the experience because I was told nothing was amiss, which is odd since previously, cavities occurred (oh crap)...but I'm getting nervous with the sneaking suspicion that things are a tad off-kilter.  And alot of it has to do with the staff too.  Thorough cleanings and inspections these are not...cleanings are not thorough and the cleaning woman is a complete ditz who's more intent on flapping her own lips in utterly irrelevant chitchat.  Can we say 'shut the hell up and concentrate on what you're supposed to be doing????'

Oh, and once again, the office is poorly run and a hassle.  The billing person kept haranguing me about having to provide them with my social security number for no reason (hello, identity theft?!...hell to the no, I won't - fer feck sake, they've already lost last year's bitewing xrays!!) when my insurance kept assuring me the claim could be entered with my card ID number - can we say utterly clueless?!  I had to get the insurance company call the office in order to leave a stern message about how numbers work!

"beautiful teeth" and genetically gifted as well....wait a minute...WTF!  Darn it!  You mean...I'm not unique?!  Thankz to Yelp for exposing this ploy.

Update 4/08...~6 months after last Meager (pun!) Visit:
Won't be returning!  Two cavities found by new dentist...a cap in need of fixing as well...and I have inflamed gums - new dentist measured pockets, something I don't call Mieger doing recently at all!

I like Dr. Mieger personally, but I do not like her dental hygenist.  I generally agree what some have said about the practice, but the hygenist has some real issues regarding time.  I've been late twice in the 6 years I've been going there, once 10 minutes, another time 7 minutes, and I swear to god the chit-chatty-parrot of a hygenist (how am I supposed to reply anyways if you have stuff in my mouth?) was a passive aggressive bitch both times.  She OPENLY talked about my lateness in front of the receptionist as if I had committed some cardinal sin, made me then wait for a while as some form of punishment (there were no other clients, I verified this both times) but when she finally saw me she was all sweetness and light.  Today I had a meeting I COULD NOT GET OUT OF (sorry, I'm a working government stiff and emergencies happen in city government, what can I say?) and rather than deal with her shitty attitude about being 5 minutes late (which is all I would have been) I canceled the appointment instead.  I've decided to go to a new dentist with a more reasonable staff.  Too bad for Dr. Mieger, she is a nice lady but that hygenist has got to go.

Absolutely terrible practice.  I went to Mieger for maybe 6 months and during those six months I had a cleaning and a filling.  I swear, I was in her office once a week constantly getting the filling she filled over and over again.  Fillings should NOT fall out.  When I switched dentists, they had to not only re-do the filling but found decay under the filling she had filled.  Terrible.  I don't care if she is complimentary saying my teeth are beautiful, I want to keep my grill for as long as possible.  DO NOT go to her.  All my friends have switched dentists due to poor practice.  If I could give NO stars I would!

If you actually need quality work done, go somewhere else.  So what if she tells you that you have beautiful teeth?  As you can tell from all of the other reviews, she says that to EVERYONE!  I went to Dr. Meiger because everyone else in my office does.  But they only go there because she is right across the street from our office.

My cleaning was nowhere near thorough, in and out in 35minutes.  I worked in a dentist office for years, and I know what a proper cleaning should entail, this was WAY under par.  And man, did the hygienist talk A LOT!

Then I saw Dr. Meiger herself to have her fix a tiny chip in my front tooth.  She drilled away about half of my tooth!  It just didn't seem right.  My teeth just didn't look or feel the same after that.  I had to go back the next day because of some serious rough and jagged edges.

Then just yesterday, the entire bonded piece fell off and i was left with half of a tooth!  I had to go back to her this morning to have her re-fix the tooth and it STILL isn't right!  She completely changed the shape of my two front teeth.  I jammed and am now looking for a quality dentist who is judged for the quality of her work, not because she tells me I am gorgeous or because, as one yelper put it is "like a girlfriend you'd want to have a weekend brunch with."

When you're feeling down and blue, or just plain ugly, go see Dr. Mieger. She'll tell you you're  "gorgeous" and how "amaaaazing your teeth look! You're beautiful!" You'll hear the same dialogue when you're lying down getting your teeth cleaned and she's greeting another patient.

She is a pure delight and will talk your ear off if you let her.

Well, dang, I thought I was special when Dr. Mieger told me how gorgeous and fabulous my teeth were, and to thank my mom for the wonderful orthodontic work she paid for earlier in my life.  But no, apparently she tells everyone how nice their teeth are. Sigh.

If it's a psychological ploy, it's a good one. I did come out of there feeling really positive about my chompers.

Down to the details- Dr. Mieger really IS friendly, and puts you at ease right away. I asked for nitrous (aka "laughing gas" aka "what they give you so you won't panic") but she said I didn't need it. Sigh.

And no, I didn't. I'm afraid of the dentist, but she was very gentle (and used gum-numbing cream once I asked!). She sang me a little "ow" song when things hurt a bit.

She very carefully went over my x-rays with me, and pointed out areas that MIGHT eventually turn into cavities, and suggested that they'd be fine if I flossed more and took extra care.

When I told her I didn't have insurance, she cut me a break, so I ended up getting an exam, initial x-rays and a cleaning for $175! Score.

I'm definitely going back. Thanks to my boyfriend for recommending me!

I admit it, I am an anti-dentite - some days I even fall into rabid anti-dentitism.  But Dr. Mieger has made a believer out of me. She is fabulous and her staff is always very helpful, easy to deal with and nice. While poking someone in the mouth can never be a wholly pleasurable experience, I have never dealt with any major pain in association with seeing Dr. Mieger or any of her hygienists.

And, they say I have beautiful teeth - nothing like a little mental stroking from the dentist to leave my clean and fresh pearly whites open to a big smile.

I have used Yelp for awhile, but have yet to write a review - but my visit to Dr. Mieger's office definitely inspired me! She and her staff are so friendly and, yes, they told me i had beautiful teeth, too. Of course i hate the dentist like everyone, but the next day i'm still telling people about how nice they were! Highly recommend!

Dr. Mieger is really sweet, but her office is poorly run and that becomes a real hassle.  Who wants to deal with the irrate accounts manager who makes the same mistakes over and over?  ug.

Lynn used to be a dental assistant, so I think she knows how horrifying dental visits can be for some people.   She's very loud, but usually funny.  I had some really sucky work there, but also some good work.

I guess I'm saying that she is ok if you only need a cleaning and a laugh.

I, like nearly everyone, HATE to go to the dentist. I hate the sterile environment and the self-esteem blows, pounded into me, by a distant white-cloaked dentist of doom.

"You NEED to floss more. You NEED to brush more. YOU ARE A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PERSON!!!! Only IDIOTS DON"T floss.....let me show you picture AFTER picture AFTER picture of decaying teeth.......THIS could be YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...." .....or something along those lines.......

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

If I wanted to watch a horror movie - I'd watch IT again...

But......

After my visit with Dr. Lynn Mieger and her awesome hygienist - I have a WHOLE new enlightened perspective on going to the dentist.

Dr. Mieger's hygienist today, was unbelievable. She was thorough, energetic, patient, and friendly. She made me feel completely at ease and instead of just bombarding me with blow after blow about all the stuff I hadn't been doing, she was straightforward and cushioned her to-do advice with compliments - ahhhhhh the art of constructive feedback.

"Well you obviously brush very well...great job....but remember flossing is key."

Dr. Mieger was just as warm and radiant. I've never come across a dentist that actually lights up the room when she walks in it....until now.

Waking up for an 8:30 am appointment with sharp pointy and whizzing tools - was not my idea of fun this morning, but Dr. Mieger and her staff, brightened up my day, and as others have said in their reviews - I'm even looking forward to going back

......so I can boast my carefully flossed gums and well brushed teeth!

When I was a kid my parents used to take me to the dentist, a family friend who didn't have a gentle hand.  He was a competent dentist in that he removed my plaque, filled in my cavities, and took x-rays.

However, he often sacrificed comfort for a quick and easy cleaning and examination.  My mouth would hurt from his rough scraping, he would occasionaly cut me, all the while asking me how my parents were, what I was studying in school, and what I liked to do.

I've been to a number of dentists since then, none of them satisfactory until I visited Dr. Mieger.  I asked my sister one day who her dentist was and she said matter of factly, "Dr. Lynn Mieger."  She went on to describe her personality, attitude and professionalism that piqued my curiousity,  "Who is this  wonder woman?" I thought to myself.    The icing on the cake was when she told me, "Hutch loves her."  My brother-in-law Hutch hates the dentist and when I heard this, I quickly jotted down her number and made an appointment.

My first visit to Dr. Mieger was fantastic, my hygenist at the time, was incredibly kind, thorough and patient.  He took the time to educate me about my teeth, my gums and what preventative measures I could take to ensure that my future visits were quick and painless.  I sat there and listened.  And then while he continued to educate me he cleaned my teeth.  Damn.  He was good and my teeth felt fantastic.

After a couple of minutes with Dr. Mieger I left the office with hope and an appointment in the future.

A fantastic dentist with an incredibly sharp wit.  She's fun, professional and just a pleasure to be around.  This is one happy camper.

When it comes to friendliness and "chairside manner" Dr. Mieger and her staff are like the girlfriends you'd want to have a weekend brunch with, sitting outside, chatting about anything and everything.

When it comes to quality of service, they're straight forward, and thorough. My dental hygenist took the time to explain how blowing air on your teeth makes the tartar stand out in bright white - eww! - but only so she could make sure she got everything with her tartar scraper tool thingie.

And the best part, is that they were on time for my appointment.  If i have to pop out of work for a dental cleaning, an efficiently run and well managed business is key.

Been going here for several years.  I always enjoy my visits.  Dr. Mieger and her assistants are incredibly friendly and cheerful.  On my first visit, Dr. Mieger was overjoyed with how "gorgeous" my teeth were and showed them to the other technician.  I enjoyed the friendly attention, but a real introvert may have found that much attention embarassing.  The facility and equipment is rather average as dental offices go, and the place does have the unfortunate feeling of an assembly line.  Still, I keep going.

I was not looking forward to finding a new dentist once I moved here.  But, I found Dr. Mieger on yelp and called her office to make an appointment.  Their first available was a month away, but her staff called me as soon as a cancellation came up.  So I got an appointment the same week I called as a new patient.  Dr. Mieger is very friendly, funny and easy to talk to!  She ended up having to do a little work while I was there but it was all very painless and quick.  I recommended her to 2 of my co-workers.  1 has an appointment in a couple weeks.

Dr. Lynn Mieger has been my dentist for maybe about a yr and a half now. I can fully say that I have never had a better one. Like most, I dread going to the dentist, and have had my fair share of dental work (and its frightening expenses!). Dr. Mieger, and her staff couldnt' be more upbeat, honest, chatty, and fun. Going to the dentist is like going to the salon. So much to talk about- and great magazines to read! Forget the small talk, these ladies no how to have a good time. I walk out of there almost hoping the next 6 mo. checkup will come sooner rather than later. Last visit I had a porcelain filling done before work. The procedure and visit was all in under 20 minutes! sure, it was slightly painful, but thats a given. It was precise & speedy. I fully trust Dr. Mieger & her staff. If youre looking for a great dentist in the financial district, shes the one.

Went to Dr. Mieger based on Yelp reviews and price. First visit did not require x-rays (unlike every other dentist I called.) That shaved $60  - $100 off the price. I don't have any dental insurance.

Dr. Mieger was the one that actually cleaned my teeth. We talked about how funny Borat was. Enjoyable person, clean teeth, good price and good location.  I was out in under an hour including paper work for being a new patient.

Total cost was $150 for first visit cleaning and exam w/out insurance.

I actually look forward to going to the dentist since Dr. Mieger came into my life.

Not only is she a fabulous dentist (sans the 'tude), she's got integrity, a sense of humor, and good connections...my orthodontist, periodontist and oral surgeon were all recommended by her, and they were ALL spectacularly fantastic professionals.  No unnecessary pain or surgery, great follow-up, friendly staffs galore. I shudder to think about having to go through a trial-and-error for each one...brr...

Thank you Dr. Mieger, I owe my smile to you!

I fell off a bike and cracked my tooth, so needed to find a dentist quick.  Through some Yelp research, I went to see Dr. Mieger.  She is everything promised.  She was extremely easy to have a discussion with and explained everything in an easy-to-understand way.  Also, I am uninsured, and she'll work with you.  I can't imagine having a better experience.  I'm still sad about my hurt tooth, but I'm happy to have found Dr. Mieger!

let me preface this with ...I hate going to the dentist...I hate every aspect of visits.. the scraping..the suction...the x rays...blech

however I have to say Dr. Mieger and her staff  make it a lot more bearable. Everyone is super friendly...and the dental hygienist explained everything he was doing, and why you should do certain things, and how it relates to your oral hygiene... so that you didn't feel like they were just giving you a guilt trip.....

They've figured it out...guilting me is not going to make me floss more ; ) ...explaining to me how not to get periodontal disease will....

ahhh...enlightenment!
