I found this place off of Yelp as well, hoping to get an appointment with Dr. Mittl after reading so many positive reviews.  However, I ended up with her step-daughter, Alexandra Simpson (Dr. Mittle, Dr. Simpson and his daughter Alexandra all practice together).  I was a bit nervous just because I didn't know before I came in that I'd have someone else working on me, but that nervousness vanished very quickly.  Dr. Simpson is extremely competent, patient, and calm, and over the 4 visits I made there to complete a root canal and cap, I never dreaded it, nor did I ever feel any pain during any of the procedures.  She explained everything she was doing as we went along, made me feel very comfortable, and has a gentle touch.  

Incidentally, I don't have dental insurance so I had to pay out of pocket, and the prices here were also slightly lower than I had been anticipating, which was also nice.  I will definitely continue to see Alexandra Simpson the next time I need a dentist.

I found out about Dr. Mittl's office through Yelp; it had been over 2 years since my last visit to a dentist and I had a plethora of dental issues. Dr. Mittl was patient, thorough, and handled my issues and questions in a very kind manner. I had my cleaning with her, and in order to accomodate my work schedule, I underwent several procedures with Dr. Simpson, another dentist in the practice, and her husband. Both doctors were wonderful, very efficient, and a pleasure to deal with. Because of my irregular work schedule and location, I had to switch dentists, but if that weren't the case, I would definitely keep Drs. Mittl or Simpson. I highly recommend both of them!

I hadn't been to a dentist since 1997 and was quite terrified of the impending experience. But after seeing Dr. Mittl's reviews on Yelp, I was actually looking forward to my visit. Everything that I read from other patients was true. She is an amazing dentist and was very thoughtful with the way she treated me. She asked me questions about my background and made me feel very calm. She asked about my dental concerns and then addressed them all. As she cleaned my teeth, she explained not only what she was doing but why. And she warned me of any unpleasant feeling I might experience each step of the way and assured me that she would stop if anything was too painful. Honestly I had no problems with anything--it was genuinely the best dental experience I have ever had. I would recommend her to anyone and will continue visiting her practice in the future. Thanks!!!

My first visit was a great experience, a very comfortable environment.  Dr. Mittl answered all my questions in a well thought out manner.  She was a pleasure to talk to and made the entire checkup a breeze.

Never again will I have to shake and cry moments before picking up the phone to make a dentist's appointment. Dr. Mittl was recommended to me by one of my former colleagues in the magazine industry, and I'm pretty positive I'll be a patient of hers until she retires or until I leave NYC. (And maybe even then I'll fly back for my semi-annual visits). Her calm, pleasant demeanor puts me at ease every time, and her concern for your well-being and comfort is always evident. She is thorough, intelligent, and lovely to converse with, and she always makes sure that your general checkups are at least exactly 6 months apart (because she knows that some insurance companies will give you trouble if the span between them is any less). After every visit, I fill out a postcard that is sent to my home 6 months later to remind me of my appointment. Super efficient. Her staff is also pleasant and reliable.
