I was tormented by nightmares about the long walk down the white, sterile hallway of former dentists for years.  But those days are long gone.

Dr. Ken Cirka's office should be the envy of every dentist in the area.  The incredibly friendly staff has always greeted me with sincerity while treating me with the kindness of a close friend from the moment I walked through the door.  There's never a wait and the seating area is ultra comfortable even if there was.

Every room in the recently expanded office is furnished with flat screen TVs displaying everything from dental routines and processes to a live feed of the dentist working!  The VIP room even has a massage pad on the chair.  It's this sort of care that really brings Dr.s Cirka and Silva to a whole new level.  Both dentists have performed extensive procedures on my teeth and really inspired me to view dentistry in a new way.

You can't beat their Care-To-Share program and anyone in need of a reliable, genuine dentist should definitely check it out.  I really cannot express my gratitude enough for the exceptional service they provide.

Great experience with Dr Cirka!
Their front-office staff was friendly, smart and responsive. Very on the ball with everything.  Dr Cirka has the newest dental technology of any dentist I've been to in recent years including a massage chair (for your pleasure) and a tool that videos/projects the inside of your mouth (for your education).  Dental Hygienist Kim is super knowledgeable.  Highly recommend!

The day before my appointment, I got a phone call from Dr. Cirka's office.  Not someone from reception confirming the time, but my hygienist, introducing herself and saying she was looking forward to meeting me in person.  Awkward.

But kind of a nice touch and DEFINITELY an indication of things to come.  Everyone in the office was super nice and my hygienist was gentle and informative.  Also nice: both the dentist (I saw Dr. Silva, not Dr. Cirka) and hygienist steered me toward the best over-the-counter or rather actually-affordable options for fluouride rinses and that kind of thing.  As someone who doesn't have $100+ to drop on a fancy sonic toothbrush I appreciate the real life style advice.

The last good word: I'm not dentist-phobic, but my boyfriend is and he has (willingly) returned on multiple occasions for crown repairs and cleaning AND even went back for whitening.  Trust me when I say that's the best testimony I can give.

Two out of 70 get 5 stars in my book. One is a restaurant, the other is Ken Cirka. Suffice it to say that I moved from Philly to DC almost two years ago (Government Orders) and I'm so comfortable and at ease with Dr. Cirka that I've maintained the relationship.

I'm one of these folks with a primeval fear of dentists. All my life, the thought of sitting on a dentist chair would give me chills, sweaty palms, and a cold sweat on my body. Then I found Cirka's office.  Both him and Dr Silva's bedside manners are awesome. The whole staff is friendly and cheerful. Felipe, the office manager, is very organized and that sense of customer service spreads to their customers.

Needless to say, I look forward to my semi annual visits to the dentist. Plus, half a block from the L'Occitane store, Brooks Brothers, and Di Brunos. :-)

Dear Dr. Cirka's office:

Thank you for straightening my teeth and never making fun of my overbite.  Thank you for cleaning my teeth without making me cry.

Thank you for remembering my name, never making me wait for endless hours, and taking me as an emergency appointment when I chipped my tooth.

You rule the world of dentistry.  The only thing that is not perfect about your office is that "Dentline" show that is constantly on in the waiting room.  The "Before" pics of people with advanced gum disease and fifty years of smoking make me extremely queasy.  There is no where to get away from those frightening images.  Put Dr. Phil or sports on the flatscreen, 'kay?

Love,
Felicia and all her teeth

I am a person that is terrified ::edit:: TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. I put it off for 7+ years until my mouth hurt so bad, I couldn't wait any longer. Having recently moved to the Philly area, I didn't have a local dentist, but a coworker highly recommended Dr. Cirka's office and she couldn't have been more right. Katelyn, my hygienist, is so friendly and very gentle, even making the somewhat painful procedures not as bad as they could be. She explained everything that was wrong in a way I understand (I'm not a dentist after all) and what would be done to correct the problems. She is fantastic. Also, after my first visit I met with the office manager who explained all of the costs and gave me a pretty damn accurate estimation of how much my insurance would cover. I have never, NEVER had a doctor do that. Fantastic! Everyone on staff that I have encountered has been nothing less than friendly, accommodating and comforting.

I have to agree that the videos shown in the inescapable waiting room are terrifying and pretty much the last thing I want to see before going in to have my teeth worked on.

Highly recommended!

Dr. Ken is an angel sent from tooth fairy heaven.  After bolting from an office on South Street that felt like a dirty crack house, I feared I'd never return to the world of dentistry; Dr. Ken taught me how to love again.  Heated, vibrating chairs?  Live action mouth footage while you probe my teeth?  Refreshing mint rinse water?  I actually look forward to a routine cleaning, I can only imagine the ecstasy of a filling or a root canal.
