Being first-time parents, we did not know which pediatrician to choose when we left the hospital. Initially, we were referred to another pediatrician in Monterey Park...which we totally disliked after the first visit. We decided to choose a new pediatrician, but as you can see from the insurance booklet of doctors...it seems like an endless list.
Finally...I asked my cousin who my 4-year old niece sees and he referred me to Dr. Hemant. From my son's first visit at 2 weeks to the latest visit at 7 months, both my wife and I have agreed that Dr. Hemant is a very good doctor. Usually when we go in for a routine check-up or immunization, my wife would have a list of questions to ask him regarding our son. He always takes the time to fully explain the answers, unlike other doctors who rush things...so they can see the next patient.
The doctor's assistants (technicians) are professional and can administer immunizations. This is really helpful when you are only there to get a scheduled immunization and have no need to see the doctor. They will have you in-and-out of the office quickly. Plus, the rest of the staff there are very friendly and courteous.
I would recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician...or when we have a 2nd child (LoL...I'll probably get an earful after my wife reads this part).
I'm surprised that this MD received a good review from somebody else. I thought I would come here and find a bunch of complaints. Either that, or my standards in the care I expect to receive from a Doctor are just really high. I gave birth to my son at HM Hospital and he was the Doctor referred to see my baby at the time. As a first-time parent you would expect to receive at least a satisfactory care, but we were let-down big time! His bedside manners were extremely poor in my opinion. Probably only popped in the room to see my baby for less than 30 seconds and whoosh out the door he went! No explanations were given to me on what my baby's status is, very poor communication skills. And he's always in such a rush you'd think someone's chasing him. The only consolation we got was at least he was showing up everyday for the time I was in the hospital (well he has to). I mentioned this disappointment to the Doctor who referred him, My OB was of good stature and I didn't want his name tarnished by referring people to this Doc. Good luck and I hope you receive a better treatment from this guy.
I think this guy is arrogant with a mean demeanor.
