For years, I avoided any dentist office (bad experiences in the past with a mean & sadistic dentist), so I was a little embarrassed when I first came into Dr Groves' office.  I was worried that he would yell at me or something, since my gums were in pretty sad condition.  Also, I was scared that whatever he had to do to fix my mouth would hurt like hell.  Instead, he was awesome- and he fixed my mouth up really well, and was patient with my complete neurotic expression of my fear of pain.  (The only thing that really hurt was the novocaine needle, but he talked me through it in a really helpful way).
I've been going there ever since, because he and his staff are great, and good at explaining everything without talking down to me.  Dr. Groves is interesting- he does have a bit of a corny sense of humor, but this helps to make the atmosphere casual in his office.  His hygienists all seem to really like what they do.  His receptionist is my favorite person there- really sweet and friendly, and helpful with all the crazy insurance stuff that can come up in any medical situation.  I definitely recommend him, especially for anyone afraid of dentists!
