FANTASTIC DR!! I recently had my wisdom teeth out, and even though I was a little nervous, I was re-assured by Dr.Ehsan & staff it is a routine process, and not to worry so much.
Dr. Ehsan & his staff were both professional & friendly - a definite recommend!
..Now if only I could chew some wheat bread & nutella..takes a couple days to recover ;-p
I had my wisdoms done by Dr. Ehsan over a year ago. I picked him out of the Delta Dental providers because his name is a word in Urdu and means to do someone a favor or to relieve someone...
Boy did I luck out! He's a smart cookie...I tried to pull a fast one over him (I didn't have anyone to drive me back home and I was going to just take Muni back but he's hella sneaky and made me call someone who had to talk to his assistant and fricking come upstairs to get me.)
Also, I forgot my instructions and ate some food before my surgery but when I remembered, I drank a ton of water and threw it up. My uncle who is an MD told me not to go ahead with the surgery because if you have food in your system and you are under anasthesia, you can drown in your vomit or something...I told Dr. Ehsan about the morning and told him that I could NOT take any other days off for a while and he laughed and said "OK, we won't put you under that much..."
Whatever he did, I didn't feel it. My mouth healed fine, I lost 15 lbs and I didn't have to take any time off work. And, thanks to Dr. Ehsan, my drugged up ass didn't get kidnapped off the MUNI and murdered with my corpse to be found in Golden Gate Park!

Dr. Watson of South Beach Dental referred me here. I highly recommend Dr. Ehsan for 3rd molar extractions. He is definitely a patient advocate!
I was so nervous going in due to the horror stories my frinds had from whenever they got there teeth removed. Julia, Dr. Ehsans assistant, explained that everyone is different and they would take care of me. She put my mind at ease. In fact, whole staff was patient and friendly like that.
I did wake up in a panic and started crying after the anesthesia was reversed (I at first thought I was on my death bed for some reason, then I thought I had anesthesia awareness or something because it felt so quick and they were still working on the last tooth), but they explained to me what was going on and I felt better immediately.
Dr. Ehsan even asked if I wanted to take the fully impacted tooth out after my hysterics were over (he didn't want to go on if I was going to keep crying). We had talked about the cyst forming around my tooth and I decided we could get it out. He explained to me what was going on the whole time and put dissolvable stitched in where the incision was.
I don't know what he used on me, but I didn't feel groggy afterwards and I could walk fine. After the surgery, Julia explained everything I needed to know .
Dr. Ehsan called me 4 hours post op to check on me, make sure I was following directions, and to answer any remaining questions for me.
It's the next morning and I don't know if its the meds or him (I suspect a combo of both), but the only part of my mouth I feel a little pain in is where the stitches are. I'm not even swollen and I talk fine. I even had a get together at my place last night (though I stayed in bed) and still no pain.

I had 5 teeth pulled and it was great! My husband was not excited about me going under but Dr. Ehsan put him at ease-which is not easy to do.
I originally saw another surgeon but decided I wasn't comfortable enough with him so I tried Dr. Ehsan even though my referring dentist told me he would be considerably more expensive that the other doctor she referred me to. I saw him anyways and not only was he the $300 less, my insurance covered a portion of it which made him $1300 less than the other doctor.
About the experience:
They prepped me and I don't even remember going under. I woke up happy-no joke-because I felt no pain. My entire jaw was numb and I went home and iced it the whole day. The Vicodin made me sick because eating hearty food was impossible but I didn't even need it. I took 2 OTC Motrin every 6 hours and felt no pain. I never had any swelling or anything other than a slight ache which was totally bearable. I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and an root canal molar pulled and bone grafted, prepped for an implant and I can confidently say it couldn't have gone better under anyone else's care. If I ever need any more teeth pulled, I will go back to him for sure.
Ooh-I got to see my teeth but they wouldn't let me keep them. They came out very cleanly--a good job.
I work at home but if I worked in an office, I would definitely say take at least 3 days off. You wind up sleeping a lot because your body is healing. Do yourself a favor and prep some pureed soup the night before because you will find your stuck with soup and yogurt.

I recently visited Dr. Ehsan's office to get a wisdom teeth looked at that had been giving me pain for the past year. I had not gotten the tooth pulled yet due to diagnossis from a past Dr. stating that the tooth was to close to my nerve to be pulled. Instead it had been shaven down to give room to grow away from the nerv which it was taken forever and in turn I was tired of waiting and living with the pain.
So I decided to visit Dr. Ehsan's office after reading so many good reviews on Yelp and this office being conveniently located in union square. The friendly receptionist was able to schedule my appt to so it wouldnt be such a big deal to take time off of work. I come in and had a panaramic X-ray taken and 5 mins later the Dr. is going over it with me. He shows my that my tooth is @ a more than a safe distance from my nerv to be pulled away and he gave me the option of going ahead with it even though i was the last appt for the day which I refused due to have dinner plans that night but still thought it was great that he was willing to work with me even though it was past business hours.
So i came back a few days later to get the tooth taken out. They put me on gas and a couple of minutes later I was good to go. The Dr's assistant (i think her name was Julia or somthing the likes) was very friendly and attentive the whole time. Next thing i know the Dr comes in says Hi and shakes my hand. 2 mins later i feel a couple of tugs and im done. Off i go with a nice buzz and one less pain.
Thanks again Dr. Ehsan!

I've never been under... well, I guess that's all relative. Anyway, I was extremely nervous about being fully sedated. However, Dr. Ehsan was very helpful. He engaged me conversation to take my mind of the fear and before I knew it I couldn't formulate sentences and was OUT. Next thing I know, its 45 minutes later and my wisdom teeth are gone!
Today is the day after. Thanks to the pain killers I don't feel much pain. I'm also barely swollen on one side (last year with my other dentist, I looked like I had a golf ball in my cheek), and not much bruising either. We'll see if this stays the same.
The only kink is that he has SO many patients. He does surgery and consultation within the same hour. Who can blame him though, it seems like he does an excellent job. He is also not cheap, but you get what you pay for, his service and staff is excellent. I had a horrible experience with a dentist last year, and the last thing I wanted was to go through the same hassle this year. It seems like they are all pretty straight forward. I have my follow up next week, so I will finish my review then.

UPDATE:
Still awesome! Since my procedure, I've had a few coworkers go to him and they've been extremely satisfied.
Also, I got a letter from the office which looked like a bill. I immediately started to curse because of my horrible experience with Dr. Angela Leung... lo an behold, it was actually a check... I had overpaid!
LOVE that office!

Dr. Ehsan took out my upper wisdom teeth yesterday. I choose local anesthesia only option and was conscious. He explained the procedure and what I should expect before and during the surgery. It went very quickly and without pain. I started to have a slight pain on one side a few hours after the surgery but with pain medication, it's not too bad. The other side feels and looks totally normal like nothing happened. I'm happy with the results. He is very professional and skilled. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to him by Dr. Puno, and I'm glad she recommended him. He's very professional and informative. He takes the time to make sure you understand why you should (or shouldn't) have your teeth removed. The entire staff is friendly and equally informative, and they never push you to do anything you're not 100% about. I have nothing but positive reports to share about my surgery, thanks to Dr. Ehsan.

I am writing this review as an MD doctor board certified in Internal Medicine, specializing in gastroenterology. In my opinion, Dr. Ehsan is THE BEST oral/implant surgeon in San Francisco. His stellar reviews that you see on here do NOT lie and I know this from personal experience after having my #15 molar extracted by him.
Due to my busy residency hours, I had neglected this tooth that had had a root canal which I never got crowned. The temporary filling had long fallen out and the decay had eaten its way all the way through the tooth. I knew I had done a bad thing and was very apprehensive about seeing a dentist. The excellent dentist I selected (Dr. Matthew Keyser--see my great review of him) referred me to Dr. Ehsan for extraction of the tooth and implant later down the road. I was very happy and relieved that Dr. Keyser had chosen him since in my exhaustive search to first find a primary dentist, Dr. Ehsan's name always came up at the top of every list with the best reviews under oral surgeons.
When Dr. Keyser's office called him and expressed my concern about the tooth getting worse, Dr. Ehsan's office told me to just walk 5 blocks down to his office and they would see me right away. I was amazed at their efficiency and I was concerned about this with my busy fellowship medical training schedule. Dr. Ehsan and his staff NEVER ONCE implied that I was an idiot or "did this to myself" (which I sort of did--let's face it). I truly appreciate their professionalism on the matter.
Dr. Ehsan explained to me why I needed the extraction and that the implant was the superior choice afterwards. As a fellow MD, I really appreciated his dual background as a DDS AND MD--it really showed. I then talked to his staff who clearly delineated all the financial costs of my treatment plan, which made me feel at ease that I wasn't getting cheated. YES it is true, it was pricey, but in my opinion, WELL WORTH the money--how can you put a price on your teeth which you will have and need for life?
I explained to his staff that I was concerned this needed to get done ASAP and I personally had to perform a great number of procedures on patients the following week (I was seeing him on a Friday the week before this busy week). His staff person left to talk to him, then came back and informed me Dr. Ehsan was willing to extract the tooth that very same day. AMAZING! I really appreciated this.
The procedure itself was SO EASY. I admit as a doctor I am much less squeamish than the average person, but I only used local anesthesia and it was absolutely no problem at all. He was very efficient, from the extraction, to the bone grafting, to the suturing. He talked me through the entire procedure with ease.
He gave me vicodin but it is now 4 hours after the procedure and I haven't used it at all (though remember I had had a root canal before so not much feeling left there). I was so comfortable RIGHT AFTER the procedure that I literally walked out and decided to go straight to the movie theater to watch a movie.
Also, you may be interested to know that he also is on the Delta Dental PPO list, if this matters to anyone (it did to me since that is my insurance).
Bravo to Dr. Ehsan and his staff. I look forward to our appointments in the future when I get my implant placed. I'm confident he will do a stellar job. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Excellent. Professional to the core. Personally my visit to Dr.Ehsan's office was very good. I was made to feel comfortable during the tooth "extraction" process and the doc also followed up with a personal phone call to inquire about my well being afterwards. The insurance details and every step of the process was duly explained by the support staff. Dr Ehsan is an intelligent doctor and will patiently respond to any questions.I also have a follow up with the doc scheduled for next week and so far its all good...to be honest, I haven't felt any pain so far...maybe its just me..:-).

Go there for implants and wisdom teeth extractions; I had the latter done.
Office: Brand new with all the high tech gear. The views are what they should be from the 22nd floor in downtown SF.
Staff: They are all VERY polite, professional, warm, and helpful. I felt at ease once I entered the office and dealt with his staff face to face.
Dr. Ehsan: He is one of the best dentists/doctors/oral surgeons I have ever had to deal with. He answered all my questions during the consultation and made me feel confident my money was being well spent. He even called me the day after my surgery to see if I had any more questions.
$$$: After doing my homework, I actually feel I got a good deal going to Dr. Ehsan. You pay for what u get. I was very impressed at the condition I was in only a few hours after surgery. My girlfriend couldn't believe how well I felt. This was a testament to his skills.
Also, Dr. Ehsan's financial guru, who will remain nameless, is great! She explained everything to me during the consultation and provided all the different pricing scenarios I faced. She did not pressure me to spend more money or do anything I did not wish to do. Her professionalism is one of the main reasons I went to Dr. Ehsan.

I am a believer of reviewing health care because everyone deserves to know who the great and not-so-great doctors are, and let me tell you: the service you receive at Dr Ehsan's is superb.
Believe me- I've had my share of bad doctors/dentists who like to keep you in the dark and fuzzy up the details. In Dr Ehsan's office I can tell that they make it a priority to explain everything to you-- from the cost of my procedure to his explanation of why human beings are slowly evolving toward not having wisdom teeth. I greatly appreciated the effort to make their operation as transparent as possible, putting me at ease and making it easy to throw down the money for this operation.
Dr Ehsan is what they call a health care professional-- very intelligent, patient, and ready to answer any questions. His assistants were very helpful and respectful.
I did have an annoying experience with one assistant-- when she called to remind me about my follow up appointment, I asked her a question about my healing process, and she did not make any effort to answer my question nor to refer me to someone who would do so. But... it's not bad enough to lower my star rating.
Take out your wisdom teeth here. Dooooooo it.
Edit: They read your Yelp reviews. The assistant whom I had mentioned above called and apologized. Wow is all I can say.

I've been putting this off and dreading it for years - getting my lower wisdom teeth out. The surgery itself was no problem! Dr. Ehsan and his staff are very friendly and know what they are doing. The assistant for my surgery talked me through everything as she attached me to the machines. Dr. Ehsan came in and distracted me with small talk as he put the IV in . . .then I was out. At some point I remember being very cold and someone putting a blankie on me. Then I remember waking up and seeing Dr. Ehsan who told me they were almost done. I must have gone back under, because the next thing I know, they WERE done.
And let's face it - the recovery from having your lower wisdom teeth out SUCKS. But Dr. Ehsan and his staff prepped me in every way they could . Ice pack, meds, a sheet of instructions, and a phone call that night from the doc himself to see how I was doing.
I may just survive this after all!
UPDATE: I feel like such a girl. I had to call, on a holiday, to get more pain meds because I just can't stand it. Dr. Ehsan answered his cell, was super friendly, told me I was normal to be hurting this much still and he'd call in more meds. I could hear people in the background, so he was obviously off for holiday but he answered the phone and took care of things. THAT is great doctor!

He and his staff really are the best. They are professional, caring, gentle, and sweet. Dr. Ehsan is really brilliant at what he does and takes his time to explain and answer any questions you might have. I seriously have a crush on everyone in his office. EVERYONE! Seriously! LOL! Each person makes you feel so genuinely cared for. The next time I have to get an implant (hopefully never), I wouldn't hesitate to call them. They were great every step of the way, from dealing with the insurance company in a timely manner to the last stitch. Dr. Ehsan and his staff were consistently wonderful.

So Dr Ehsan is the best dentist i have ever been to. i had an infected wisdom tooth and it was starting to cause me pain on monday, i called on monday afternoon and got in for friday for a consultation and he decided to take it out right there with local anaesthetic. it was so easy, took 20 minutes, he answered all of my questions thoroughly and didn't seem annoyed that i asked him about 100 questions. he even called me the night of my surgery to check in and make sure i didnt have any questions for him and told me to call anytime if i needed anything. this is definitely a great place to go. super clean and nice office, pretty technically advanced and overall awesome. i would highly recommend him to anyone.

Hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had with a doctor or dentist. I had my wisdom teeth removed (two at a time). Dr. Ehsan was courteous, professional, and precise. I chose the local (no sleepy) as I wanted to see how good this guy was. Both my upper and lower wisdom teeth (2) were cut up, removed, and sewn up within 15 minutes. Competent is an understatement.
He also makes his rounds of calls at night (seemingly to all new patients). His office is clean, professional, and tech'd out. The parking within the area sucks, so you'll want to hit up the parking garages.

I have been putting off my wisdom teeth removal since high school; the inevitable puffiness and pain just weren't all the enticing (or attractive). But once I finally got real insurance (i.e., not the crap insurance you have when in school), it was time to stop making excuses and get those things out. Dr. Ehsan made everything so easy!
Dr. Ehsan and everyone at his office are so nice, efficient, and helpful. They explained everything for me, including a detailed breakdown of how my insurance would cover the consultation and extraction, and gave me a chance to ask any and all questions I had. Even better, the extraction itself was completely easy and painless (getting totally knocked out is the way to go!). Oh, and I never even got puffy. I could not be happier with Dr. Ehsan!

Beware of this office. I just received a bill for $494.00 when I was told during the "hard sell" pre-operation visit that my total out of pocket cost would be less than $95.60 which I paid that day.
When I was first considering having my wisdom teeth pulled, Dr. Ehsan's office knew which insurance I carried (Principal), knew which procedure I was going to have done, knew that I was going to require general anesthesia/IV sedation as recommended by his office, knew what would be covered by my insurance and what would not be covered, and based on all of the above, your office told me my out of pocket expense would be $95.60, which I promptly paid. Now, the office sends me a bill for an additional $494.00 explaining that "general anesthesia/IV sedation is covered only when required for complex oral surgical procedures" and the office acts as if they had no idea that the Principal dental plan would not cover this. As Dr. Ehsan is one of the doctors who are part of the Principal group and as his office must have done this exact same procedure on perhaps hundreds of other Principal insured patients, I simply refuse to believe that his office did not know that I would have to pay for the general anesthesia/IV sedation. I find it disingenuous, at best, that Dr. Ehsan's office did not disclose this to me when I was making up my mind to go ahead with the procedure. If his office had told me that I was going to have to pay a total of $589.60 as opposed to the $95.60 the told me at the "hard sell" stage, there is a good chance that I would have decided not to have three wisdom teeth pulled (that weren't really bothering me AT ALL) and I can only surmise that this is the very reason Dr. Ehsan's office did not present the true picture -- to lure me into having the procedure done and to line his pockets.

I don't have much experience in oral surgery but I was referred to Dr. Ehsan via Dr. Cox DDS so I figured cool, right?.
Beware, he's a smoooooth talker, he'll knock you the fuck out and take your teeth. You'll wake up seemingly ten seconds later in a fog wondering what happened. He says, "I don't know what you're talking about...", hands you a slip of paper that you take to a person in a white jacket who in turn gives you three orange bottles filled with "memory erasers" to make your week ahead seem like nothing ever happened.
I don't think he implanted anything into me... I've been wondering though, he is pretty smoooooth like that.

I got the follow up call in the evening after the surgery, but must have been knocked out on the pain pills and missed it! I had no complications, no dry socket or any of the other horror stories you hear about. I'm just glad it's done, thanks Dr. Ehsan!

I was really nervous about taking out my wisdom teeth when I heard all the horror stories of looking like a chipmunk and not being able to eat for a week from friends. However, I was very, VERY impressed with Dr. Ehsan. Dr. Ehsan was friendly, professional, and very patient. He made sure that all of my questions were answered. I could tell that he was very confident with what he was doing. He made sure that I was taken care of. Before the surgery, his staff made sure someone was going to pick me up. They gave me all the information I needed.
Right before the procedure, Dr. Ehsan was making conversation with me and before I knew it, I woke up and all my teeth were out.
The night after the procedure, Dr. Ehsan even CALLED me to see how I was doing and asked if I had any questions. That really blew me away.
As for my recovery. I had 1 impacted, 1 partially impacted, and 2 normal ones. I started to eat solids 2 days later. I took the medications as prescribed and no one could tell I had my teeth taken out. This is a large contrast to some of my friends who said they were practically bed-ridden for the first week.
After my follow-up appointment, I overheard a girl saying to a staff member that she came back for a second follow-up appointment just in case and the staff member welcomed it. If you have questions or want to be seen again for follow-up, you can go back free of charge. They really want to make sure you are happy and worry-free.
The staff is really friendly and super helpful. They dealt with my insurance the entire time and made everything hassle-free for me.
I highly recommend Dr. Ehsan!

oh man, imagine my surprise when my dentist informed me that, after putting forth a major effort to extract my #1 molar, she wasn't having very much success. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but hey, life isn't always perfect, at least it wasn't the last time I checked...
Luckily my dentist did have success numbing me, so the 50 minutes that I spent having her crack and pull at my stubborn stump while I struggled to keep my jaw open wide was almost painless -
This nauseating yet painless lack of success is what led me to Dr. Ehsan...
What was impossible for my dentist (who shall remain nameless) was very possible for the good Doctor. After quickly sawing my stump in half, he had the whole thing yanked in less than 5 minutes. I'm not going to lie and say it didn't hurt like a mother (parting with teeth, especially the #1 molar, is the sweetest of sorrows)but hey it was quick, and I was home on the couch in no time.
Dr. Ehsan is incredibly good at managing the psychological aspects of the procedure - He prepares you for the tough stuff and he maintains a very good rapport with the patient. He's very good at what he does. I was tempted to stay longer and have him pull all my teeth, but then I realized that while that may be good for eliminating cavities it wouldn't be good for eating unpopped popcorn kernels (what got me there in the first place).

I wouldn't go back.
Although the place is fully equipped with up to date technology and stuff, they are one of the most impatient people I met.
Due to medical reason, I have visited many dental offices, but this office, they need to slow down a bit.
I can understand that the doctor is popular and super busy, but with the money I pay for, I expected something more.
Even for the first consultant, he explained everything so fast, I felt like a whirlwind swept through my brain. Additionally the receptionists or assistants are sooooooooo eager to get rid of you.
I don't know how he received such good reviews so far.
Basically this is how I felt.
I went there, meaning they already have a hold of my money.
Provide everything as quick as possible to get rid of me so that they can move onto the next pocketful of money.
They do it with smile, thinking that will make everything polite and courteous.
They need to slow down, and listen to the clients.
And oh, regardless of how often a client asks, don't ever say, "again?"
That's just rude.
I just got my top two wisdom teeth out yesterday evening and I must say, I feel amazing! Dr. Ehsan is exactly how the previous yelpers describe him to be...so everything I am going to say will probably sound very familiar, but I will describe my personal experience anyways.
The service is always great at Dr. Ehsan's office even before you walk in the door. The front desk ladies, Eva and Linda, make going over appointments and insurance breakdowns effortless and they are super nice. When I went in for my surgery I was really nervous talking to my friend who was there to drop me off and pick me up afterwards, but when I went back into the surgery room, the anethesialogist reassured me all was going to be fine, set me all up for surgery with oxygen and heart rate monitor, and kept me in comfortable conversation until the doctor came in. When Dr. Ehsan came in he shook my hand and asked me what I had for lunch (to make sure I had not eaten anything 6 hours prior)...I told him that I hadn't eaten since that morning, so he nodded that was fine and proceeded to stick the IV in my arm. After that, it's a bit fuzzy...I remember I couldn't describe my job very well when he asked me...almost like I forgot what I did and what my name was. Then as I was describing something I do...I went out. I woke up to the feeling of the assistant sticking guaze in my mouth and telling me that the surgery went well and she was going to go get my friend to go over my after care instructions.
Later that night, literally 3 hours after I left the office, Dr. Ehsan called me himself (from his cell phone!!) to ask how I was doing and that if I had any questions to give him a call whenever. He prescribed me Vicodin and Ibuprofen, but I've only used a couple of the Vicodin-- I don't need them! The operation was just that smooth. And I'm not puffy- AT ALL. My bleeding was minimal and by the way things are going, I'm going to try soft more solid foods tomorrow (I'm living off of pudding, applesauce, and yogurt now...just to be safe). This is the best dental experience I've ever had. I'm in much less pain than when I had a deep cleaning done a few months ago by my regular dentist (who I love as well, but deep cleaning gums hurts like hell and I wasn't put under G.A. then, just local anethesia).
Great service, very nice man. Very nice employees. I highly recommend him to anyone needing oral surgery. I definitely can't imagine going to anyone else for any future issues I may have.
100% satisfied.
***UPDATE*** -- February 8th (a week after surgery)
It was an amazing recovery. So much so that today I went back for a 5 minute check-up and the doctor said that my stitches have dissolved fine and my healing is that of someone that would have gotten this procedure done a month ago. *I bow now* Ha ha...but of course I can't take all the credit. I'm sure he's just smoooooth like that. And you know, it's a nice feeling getting a good doctor (and by good, I mean the ones who actually care about your well-being and not just a paycheck) like that. I still feel the tiniest something back there in my mouth...but damn. Do I ever want to naw on a steak really bad!!!! I could never be a vegetarian. My body craves tearing into flesh way too much. ;)

Couldnt agree more with all the reviews..."
Had 3 wisdom teeth removed...some oral surgeons just want to make the most possible money, but hes the real deal - only does what is necessary.
Its expensive - but insurance covered it.
I had spoken to many friends who got their w. teeth removed and they had some horror stories. I can honestly say aside from my mouth being sore, i barely felt any pain, from start to finish.
Their office is extremely professional, courteous and just all around pleasant. Dont think about it, just go here, even if its expensive - some things in life are worth it.

I just had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted at Dr. Ehsan's office. And, like all the other reviewers, I was very happy with Dr. Ehsan and his whole staff. His very modern and hi-tech office space also feels reassuring.
All of the support staff were helpful, not at all intimidating, friendly, yet down-to-business. Dr. Ehsan was as well. I was clearly going in for what must be a very routine procedure for him. But he was thorough in his explanation of what would happen, stopping several times for any questions. He talks fairly fast, but I didn't feel rushed. It was more that he was professional and efficient (and frankly I didn't mind the feeling that the procedure I needed was probably something he's done hundreds of times).
The procedure itself was totally painless. Dr. Ehsan has good technique with a needle. I was out within seconds, and the next thing I knew his assistant was checking in on me and telling me everything went just fine. Dr. Ehsan called that night to check in, which I gather from other posts is his regular practice.
The recovery has been easier than I expected. Minor details about billing, prescriptions, and sending around x-rays have been handled by his staff quickly and courteously.
I suspect that Dr. Ehsan's office isn't the cheapest place to get your wisdom teeth out. Mine were about $1500 (but I'm sure it varies given one's particular situation). But, I'm not really keen on "budget surgery." So if you or your insurance can swing it, I certainly recommend Dr. Ehsan with no reservations at all.
He comes highly recommended and meets all the expectations. I recently had 6 teeth removed and it was a great experience, really. There is so much to compliment. First, there is the staff, everyone is super friendly and very respectful and accomodating. You get first class treatment as soon as you walk in the door.
Then, the Dr. himself, who is obviously very competent is very nice and humble. He explains everything thoroughly and answers any questions.
Other perks: the view is to die for, you get a SF skyline view as your getting worked on (or in my case, I was knocked out). The machines seem very advanced and innovative.
Really, this guy is the best!!!!

i went for my appt to take out my wisdom teeth today. my hands were sweaty and i was talking nonsense to the receptionists.
yes. i was really nervous
they were so nice and explained to me everything in detail. Dr Ehsan talked to me about my job to relax me and 10 sec later, I passed out.
I have absolutley no pain. No discomfort. And was only drowsy the first 20 min post - op.
no one got grossed out when i tried to drink water and drooled all over myself. haha.
and he just called me to check up on me :). yeyy.

thanks to a root canal gone bad, i had a tooth extracted and decided on a titanium implant. dr. ehsan and his staff are first-rate. they're all super nice and professional. he explained the procedure very throughly and everything went pretty much exactly as he said it would, and it was relatively painless. dental implants are expensive and usually there's no insurance coverage, but it was still money very well spent.
best part of it is the space-age panoramic x-ray machine, which gets a view of your mouth that looks like this..

the implant process takes a bunch of visits, but since i was dealing with a great group of people i didn't mind. plus, great city views from most of the exam chairs.

I had my tooth extracted by Dr. Ehsan over 2 years ago and i am still inspired to write in agreement with many others how easy and quick the experience was. I was extremely nervous and within moments, my tooth was out and i was on my way. I didn't experience any pain after that either...i was so very happy and grateful to him. I recommend using Dr. Ehsan if you are in need of any oral surgery!
he shakes your hand a lot! he yanked 3 of my wisdom teeth. a gentle and informative young man all the way through. and he's great with the IV! i have like nonexistent veins in my right arm and he painlessly got it the first time! then he started talking with his cozy voice as i looked at him and gazed at his dreamy smile and instantly went under. i woke up with a blanket on me. awe, he tucked me in! (ok it was probably his assistant because i was chilly and shaking but i don't know that) and then later, that night, he called to make sure i was doing ok! thanks!

when i came to (after the removal of three impacted wisdom teeth), it dawned on me that nothing at all could have happened during my surgery because i felt absolutely fine. in fact, i could only vaguely remember what had happened that day, but was reminded by the anesthesia tanks and I.V. and of course, the smiling face of dr. ehsan. what a nice guy - and let me tell you, i don't let just anybody get in my mouth!
my pre-extraction consultation was a comfortable experience as well. i was pleased with the immaculate office, great computer system, fun trashy magazines (us, people, harpers, etc), and the uber nice staff (yah myra). even the x-ray machine didn't freak me out *too* badly as it was pretty new and spiffy looking and thus hopefully lessened the radiation thru my physical being. (here's the hippie test: do you stand in front of a microwave if it's on? NO WAY! do you dread x-rays? OF COURSE!).
the first day after my surgery (thursday) i was sure i would be able to eat solid food by the weekend. HAH! its a week later and i'm still slurping soup (lord, i am so tired of blended and soft things). but i have to say, abundant amounts of motrin and vicodin did me good (minus the coming-off mood swings. watch out!). overall, i am quite satisfied with my experience but DAYAM those are some expensive teeth ($420 each + $600 anesthesia). they treated em like treasure too, cuz they wouldn't let me take em home. bah. and there's my only complaint.

Dr Ehsan just took out my 4 3rd Molars (wisdom teeth). Dr Ehsan is the best dentist I've ever seen - the whole experience was highly professional and virtually pain free. I would highly recommend Dr Ehsan.
