I love Dr. London!

She was the closest doctor near my apartment that was covered by my insurance so I went with her. When I was a new patient I did have to wait 2 weeks to be seen by Dr. London, but since then I have been able to get in within hours or days.

I was having some problems once and expressed how I didn't want to have to take real medicine for it. Instead of just writing me a prescription, Dr. London offered a handful of alternatives to dealing with the problem. I appreciated that she took the time to offer alternatives instead of just medicating me.

She's one of the best doctors I've had. I'd recommend her to anyone!

This doctor is horrible. HORRIBLE. Not only is she abrasive and lacking in compassion, she will not admit when she's made a mistake. She misdiagnosed me three times within the last year. She put me on medication that caused me to gain weight and caused my kidneys to malfunction and then literally *yelled* at me when I tried to talk to her about it. (She claims I gained weight from eating too much and not exercising....um, no. I eat 1,200 calories a day,  walk 4 miles a day and do 40 minutes a day of cardio and yoga!)

Her office is filthy. Her staff is unfriendly and act like they can't be bothered. One "nurse" tried to take my blood and made a disgusting gash in my arm. Dr. London is arrogant, rude, she doesn't listen to patients, she seems to think the world of herself and she has serious mental problems. Do not go see this doctor. Ever.

Dr. London is unprofessional and rude. The office is filthy. She is not a good listener. She spends most of the appointment talking about herself (e.g. her ex-husband, kids, HER health issues). It was not a good healthcare experience.

Yes, it is hard to get a hold of Dr. London/her office in general, and it is quite difficult to get an appointment with her, but she's GREAT!  She's super charismatic and definitely knows her stuff (she has a very interesting background).  She's my PCP and I'll definitely be going back to her.  In order to have a successful doctor-patient relationship with Dr. London, you just have to be patient and be on top of it.  If you make an appointment 3 or 4 months in advance, write it down and remember it!  They will not babysit you by calling you every month to remind you of your appointment when they have hundreds of other patients.  She's great.

Typically I've had good luck finding quality health care in Boston, but my experience with Dr. London's office was so contrary to what medical care should be about that I had to put something out there!

After sifting through endless names of primary care physicians that came up on my insurance company's website, I settled on Dr. London and called to make an appointment. I was told her first available date for a new patient was FOUR MONTHS AWAY. Luckily, I wasn't in a huge hurry to get in, so I took the first available appointment.

When October hit, I had a hazy idea that the appointment I had made in June was approaching, but had received no confirmation from Dr. London's office. Call me crazy, but I was expecting a quick call to confirm, given that a) they're a doctor's office and confirmation calls are typically standard practice and b) it had been four months! When I heard nothing, I took the proactive approach and left a message inquiring about my appointment.

This morning at 8:10am, I received a call from Dr. London's office. The message on my voice mail said this: "Um, your appointment is basically in 20 minutes."

What???

I would have loved to have made it to this appointment. I was looking forward to establishing a relationship with a good doctor--hopefully one I could see for years--and had patiently waited months for this. But 20 minutes isn't much time to get out of bed and get ready for and commute to a doctor's appointment. When I called to apologize and try to reschedule, I was told, kid you not...

"If a new patient misses their first appointment, they are not allowed to make any future appointments with Dr. London." Non-negotiable. A directive from Dr. London herself.

While I understand that busy doctors need ways to keep their schedules as sane and efficient as possible, I found the inflexibility of this attitude to be way out of line with what medical care should be about (not to mention exclusive and petty).

I expect doctors to be professionals at least, and compassionate at best. Having a patient wait four months for an appointment may be inevitable for a busy office, but Dr. London should realize that during that time, the patient is probably not seeking PCP care elsewhere. The patient is counting on receiving care from Dr. London. If the privilege of that care is so easy to lose, then, at the very least, the office should provide confirmation calls within a reasonable amount of time before the appointment and should inform the patient at the time they make the appointment that a strict no-show policy is in place.

Not being flexible when a good part of the culpability for the issue lies with your own office is decidedly unprofessional. Further, for patients who may be in more immediate need of primary medical care, the current implementation of this policy could potentially create real problems.

Looking forward to finding a doctor whose practice is founded on providing sincere patient care!
