Toulouse passed on April 18, peacefully at the office. He had kidney failure, and just couldn't fight it. Dr. Ficarra and her whole staff were so amazing during this super sad time, and I will recommend this office to any and everyone that might ever ask where to take their pet! As difficult as it was, she was more than compassionate, and made the situation I was in as comfortable as possible. I have the utmost respect for her because to be in the position she is, she must see these painful situations a lot and for her to be able to do it with love makes her one in a million.
Toulouse was treated with amazing respect and his comfort was the highest priority, so in addition to taking care of me, I know he wasn't uncomfortable either. Thanks Doc!

I love this place! Dr. Ficarra clearly loves animals, and it shows in the way she handles and treats them. I take my puppy and two young cats there and we are always seen promptly, in clean (if slightly worn) offices. Her techs are also very friendly and good at what they do.
I've never felt like I was being blown off as I have with so many other vets. She even gave me her pager number in case of emergencies. She also makes house calls, which are much more expensive than in-office visits, but must be enormously convenient if you can afford them.
I really can't say enough kind things about Downtown Veterinary Clinic. If you live in the area (or even out of it, like I do) and need to find someone who will honestly care about your furry friends and treat them like her own, this is the place to go.
