I'm sorry to say i'm VERY late in posting this review. better late than never I suppose. Anyways, I hired this company and spoke to Christian about having my bosses house needing a move out clean. I had already had The Cleaning Authority come, and it didn't look like anything had been done. waste of money, So should have gone with DHC in the first place.
Christian was very understanding in the limited schedule I had to work with, and came over on a Saturday ( his day off) to inspect the house and give a quote for cleaning. The whole place sparkled after his worker bees were done. And thats tough to do in an older home.
He is def good at what he does, a perfectionist, and it shows in how detail oriented he and his crews are. Well worth the money people, you really do get what you pay for.
Don't make the mistake I did, and have to have ( my boss) pay for cleaning twice. -

My brother and I have used Christian and Downtown House Cleaning for several months and they are fantastic.
The whole process from the start was simple and efficient - from the initial estimate to communicating with Christian, and the actual cleaning itself. The attention to detail shown by Christian and his staff is impeccable, and it is no exaggeration to say that I am consistently impressed every time I come home to my townhouse after one of their cleanings. My place always looks amazing.

Lex is a champion. I appreciate the consistency and reliability of his work. It's great to come home after a long day to find the lighting set, the place spotless, and my life a little more organized. It's like clockwork.
Christian and the rest of the gang work hard to make the service as organized and seamless as possible. From estimation to invoicing, the behind-the-scenes process is easy and automatic. That's no small feat to pull off and it shows that this is a carefully managed business.
The team (Lex especially) takes great pride in their work and bring friendly smiles to our home. I am fortunate to have their help and I hope to work with Downtown House Cleaning for years to come. Thank You!! -

Lex (and Christian and team) have been keeping our place clean for about 9 months now, and we couldn't be happier.
Have used several different services, as well as soloprenuers, but Downtown House Cleaning is far and away the best. They're a great value--slightly more expensive than the competition and well worth it. Reliable, friendly, consistent, and they'll happily go above and beyond with special requests. The best part? Fixed pricing based on an estimate, so you always get the detailed service you're promised without surprise hourly costs.
They've also handled move-in, move-out cleaning for us. A small investment that delighted my landlord and ensured I got my security deposit back. -

I have been using Downtown House Cleaning for about nine months. To echo the other comments: they are professional, do a great job, and everything is seamless from my perspective. Estimation, invoicing, payment, and feedback have all been easy, and I have never had a compliant.

Christian and Downtown House Cleaning are first rate. I've had my place deep cleaned by him twice. Both times he exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Christian is highly professional, efficient and very thorough. He's got a super "can do" attitude, just an awesome, trustworthy guy!

Earlier this year, I finally realized I was just simply out of time! There was no longer enough time in the week to juggle both a full-time and part-time career, maintain a work-life balance, manage a social life and keep a tidy house up to my expectations - all at the same time. I've known for quite some time that something had to give and, over time, it slowly turned out to be the things around the house; vacuuming, dusting and general household chores. I struggled with giving up control and also allowing myself to trust someone else with coming into my home and treating it with the same care and respect that I do.
I did a lot of research including researching references from friends and surfing the web. I stumbled upon Yelp* and the reviews that were posted for Downtown House Cleaning - all very positive and, in fact, downright glowing with praise. I made the difficult move of calling to schedule an appointment - knowing full well, there was no turning back; I had made the decision to reclaim my weekends and not bog them down with hours of cleaning.
Trustworthy, Thorough, Professional and Friendly are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind but, they don't quite seem to do this company justice. My house has never been cleaner (sadly, they do a much better job than I ever did) and I feel like they treat my home as if it was their own. Christian's team is the best! If you are searching for a one-time deep clean in preparation for a special event or looking for regular assistance in your home - STOP YOUR SEARCH and call Downtown House Cleaning...you will absolutely NOT be disappointed! -

In March 2010 we admitted to ourselves that we just don't scrub the tub or vacuum the carpet as often as our mothers taught us we should (or, at least, as often as they made us do it when we were kids). Setting aside my guilt and tightwad tendencies, I researched house-cleaning services.
Thank goodness. Since then, Christian has been making our condo downright sparkly. He pays attention to details big and small, even plucking wilting flowers from a vase or shining the toaster. When he cleaned our fridge on special request, it looked brand new. It's a pleasure to come home to such a clean condo.
I trust Christian to be in my home alone. He worked with me on what's important to me. I like that he takes PayPal. And he's just a friendly, cool guy.
My husband pretty well sums it up: "Makes me happy." -

I am a full-time graduate student, small business owner, have an adorable (but hairball spreading) little kitty cat, and travel frequently.
I've been trying to do it all, but realized after the holidays this year that it was taking me easily a half-day a week to keep my apartment in shape, and honestly, it didn't even look all that great. I did a little check-in with myself and realized that there were 1,000 other ways that I could be spending those hours, and then I e-mailed Christian. He got back to me right away, came over to check out my place a day or two later, and had Damon all set to clean starting that Friday. I came home Friday afternoon to find my place looking (literally) better than new. Damon is a godsend! He is prompt, friendly, and incredibly skilled at what he does. He is detail oriented and thorough - he even left me a new sponge this week when he noticed that mine was looking ratty! I mean really, above and beyond.
Everything about my experience with Downtown Housekeeping has been friendly, accommodating, professional and efficient from day one. Christian has several easy payment options, of which I chose to keep a credit card on file. I get an e-mail every week reminding me of my upcoming appointment time, and then an invoice the day after letting me know that I have payed. Ideal.
I would recommend Downtown Housekeeping without reservation to anyone who is ready to start loving their (sparkling clean) home again. -

I am looking for a company to do a move-out clean for my one bedroom Capitol Hill condo. Downtown House Cleaning had good reviews (only 8 reviews total, but more than many other companies) and their website looked professional, and I was impressed enough to give them a call.
I reached what sounded like someone's generic cell phone voice mail ("Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system. 206 856 8442 is not available. At the tone, please record your message, blah blah blah...").
I left a voice mail last week asking for a call back for an estimate and never got one. I called again just now, just in case it was a one-time lapse, but got the same voice mail message.
Update: Upgraded my one star to five stars. Just sent an e-mail, since previous reviewers mentioned that Christian is highly responsive to e-mail, and within a few minutes received a very pleasant call back from him, explaining that he had, indeed, returned my call a few days ago and left a message conveying that he didn't have any availability for this week (which was my specific last-minute request), and good luck finding a cleaner. Still not sure why I didn't get the voice mail, but since everyone else's reviews are 5 star, I believe him. -

I could not be more pleased with Christian' s work. He took his time and did an excellent job. My floors sparkled and he even cleaned all of the baseboards in my house. My bath tub is cleaner then it was when I moved in. He brings his own supplies and is kind and considerate whilst in your house. He took the bus to my house in Queen Anne from Capitol Hill in keeping with his "green" business model. How cool is that? I would recommend him highly.

Christian did an amazing job in my condo. It needed a deep cleaning - and a major de-dusting and he did the job. I could smell the cleanliness when I walked back in the door, and my bath fixtures have never gleamed so bright. He brings his own cleaning supplies, which I appreciate and he even changed my bed (which I hate doing!). He was efficient and thorough and I would recommend him completely.

I have a standing appointment every other week with Downtown House Cleaning and it has been terrific. Everything looks and smells clean and fresh. We had an initial walk through and evaluation and agreed what I did and didn't want, and my expectations have been more than met. Also, reliable and careful of my animals. Highly recommended.
