If you want to learn how to swing dance, look no further. Easy to find, easier to sign up, and it's been a joy to learn, and I look forward to continued learning.
Four classes a month, you can pay-per month, or per-week just to sample. It's simple to do, and the classes are fun, not over-crowded, and the teachers are all wonderful.
It's a lot of fun, and if you are into, or are interested in getting into swing dance, Down South Swing is a can't-miss.
I really can't say enough about this place. Every teacher I've had has been nothing but fun, and because of that I feel like I've learned a lot faster.
I honestly can't put into words how happy I am after each and every class. If you want to do something super fun just pay to go to one class and you'll be hooked!
Down South Swing has been absolutely fantastic the past few months! I can take everything I have learned through the classes & bring it to social dances immediately because they do such a great job of teaching the steps!
Background on my opinion: I started taking swing dancing classes at the beginner 6-count level back in February, and I am now at an intermediate Lindy Hop & intermediate Charleston level!! Next month, I'm taking more Lindy, Charleston, and adding Beginning Blues to my repertoire. I had no clue about swing dancing when I started and now am completely in love with it!!

History
Established in 2004
Originally founded by Peter Zellner, Joel Domoe and Ben Lovelace, Down South Swing was created to provide superlative dance instruction and performance as well as community building and outreach opportunities.
Over the past few years, leadership has gone through a few changes, which led to some new and interesting ideas being brought to the fore. In January 2009, Evin Galang stepped in as Director and has developed an exciting curriculum of classes, specialty intensives, inspiring workshops and outreach programs.
Now under the leadership of Evin Galang and Erica Deblasio, we are continuing this vision with group classes, student-run practica, school programs, partnerships with Hot Jam Swings and ASEDA as well as our sister organization, Swingin' From the Heart, a volunteer organization bringing the joy of dancing to seniors and assisted living facilities all over the Metro Atlanta area.
Ultimately, it is the goal of DSS to save the world...one swing dancer at a time!
