I came here for a work function so I have not stayed here.
This hotel is smack in the middle a lots of shopping including Del Amo Mall and there are also many restaurants nearby but it is on Hawthorne Blvd so it is not exactly a vacation spot it is more of a business hotel.
It is about 5 miles from the beach in Redondo Beach, it is clean and looks like it would be a decent place to stay.
As far as their ballroom is concerned....it is a hotel ballroom.
We were holding our breath wondering what to expect of the room, considering the busy Hawthorne stripmall location and tiny entrance area. To our surprise, the room, albeit a bit stale smelling, was pretty cozy. Swanked out in its line of purchasible linen, furniture and the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries, the damaged TV was of little notice. Not sure why they bother with balconies that can barely fit a petite adult, but the thought was there.
Nice little restaurant and cafe. Pool was pretty and cozy with towel service; apparently the tikki hut offers other services for hotel guests during the peak seasons. Excellent room service food. They even have a full menu of healthy options ranging from cucumber soup to various proteins. Staff, especially the outdoor desk staff was very warm and extra helpful.
The busy location ended up being a great spot - everything from Nordstrom and Target nearby for last-minute things we forgot...Redondo Beach just a quick drive away...Aquarium 20 minutes...

Not much I can say since I was just there for a Seminar and I didn't stay in the rooms.
Free Wireless access was unexpected. Conference rooms were standard hotel conference rooms. The "breakfast" they provided for the conference was just juice and pastries. How about some fruit people?
Fairly decent steam-table food for the conference dinners, but nothing to write home about.
Quite surprisingly beautiful. Think about the area and think about it. It truly was (old) Hilton quality.
The only negative about this place was their stingy attitude toward towels. Hello! There were four girls in our room. We meant it when we asked for more towels. I think we spent two nights there. It was about 5 years ago. They brought us a rollaway bead and then there was still a chair left that was spacious enough to sleep in comfortably.
We had a pretty decent view considering the surroundinds. We were headed to hang out at Redondo Beach. We typically would drive up from San Diego and then turn right around. However, we decided that it was worth it to hang out.
The Hilton proved to be a very nice part of our weekend.
I would return. We were on the Hilton floor and some Hilton's will not actually put you on the special floor even if requested if youre only a standard member.
Big fan of doubletree cookies?! Then you better find a new DT (what the kids call it nowadays) because this place cannot afford their own easy bake ovens. But besides this minor inconvenience this place is decent. The lobby is above average, however, the front desk staff has a few things to work on. The customer service there is lacking if you don't look "important" enough. I may be young and wear flip flops when checking-in, but I will be spending over 20 nights there within a 2 month period!
The rooms are smaller than the average hotel room but the accommodations are still pretty nice.
I also don't get why the housekeeping staff never gives me new face wash daily? They only give me soap + conditioner + shampoo. What's going on with that? Is my face that spotless? Is this some sort of frugal compliment?
Using the GPS in the rental car, I drove through some of the most awful parts of LA to get to this hotel. Swore I was going to get car jacked! Hotel is located in a good part of Torrance, but the surrounding areas are VERY questionable. Aside from that, the hotel is very nice. Staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean. They upgraded me to a suite which had a huge, jacuzzi style tub.
