Room was clean and service was friendly and courteous.  Charge for WIFI these days is silly.  The room charge should have covered it.  I did not book the room,  I will skip this location when I do the booking since plenty of places offer the WIFI free as it should be.

This is definitely the 'business traveler and conference center' hotel.

Not a bad thing, but you know what you are getting.  Very clean, well run, good basic facilities.  Not the best, but definitely not the worst.

It's definitely a step up from some of the other choices in the area.  Big time!

Got a $50 room through priceline, so can;t complain to much. The staff is amazing, but the AC is loud. Someone was obviously smoking swisher sweets in my bathroom right before i came in so the stench was horrible. Last room available so I could not switch. The bathroom is great if you are in a wheelchair or walker, its all one big room with an exposed shower. The cockroach on the nightstand as I write this is not helping...

Awful. Made a mistake staying here for two nights.  Worst hotel stay ever.  Rooms smelled terrible, hotel is old.  The comfort suites down the street would have been a hundred times better.  I can't believe I went to a four star wedding reception at the Someret Palace and paid to stay at this zero star hotel.

This hotel at the time offered free breakfast with every overnight stay, but I had to argue with the manager for my free breakfast the next day.  Why did I have to fight for something that was clearly stated on their website?  Awful.  Since my complaint, they have changed their website and do not offer free breakfasts anymore.

If you are looking to stay in a horrible hotel with guests from large conferences overwhelming your hotel environment, this is the place to stay.  The mildew smell in the rooms comes with this package.   If I could rate this hotel a zero, I would.

Bottom Line: A Business hotel for people in town for a convention or business in NJ. Its clean, it seems redone but somethings are slightly amiss. Can't say anything about price as I am here on Business.

If you have to go to Jersey on business its quite possible you're gonna be staying here. The rooms are clean, staff is courteous. There are a few things left unfinished, no remote in my room, sink drain plug was busted, tissue box was wet? But all in all a decent looking clean room.

It has an okay workout facility for cardio, weight users may find it slightly lacking as there are only a few cable machines and freeweights. There is a hot tub and pool both indoors.

I would recommend it if I didn't have to pay for it!

    Good facilities. Clean.

I had an extended stay here for business, but they would not give me any concession over what a person staying the night would get. Not even consideration as far as using their business center. I was right there, talking to them in person, wanting to stay beyond my originally planned period. Why would I have to go online and 'bid'?

Also, they lost couriered packages meant for me twice. How hard is it to accept a delivery and have it sent to the room? I did not have a monetary loss, but I had to put up with business associates expressing disbelief that an organization the caliber of the Doubletree would do this twice. The matter was left at 'whatever' but I think it did some damage to my credibility with them. Not appreciated!

I've stayed at several hotels in the Somerset/Piscataway area as I was in New Jersey for a several months on a consulting project for a nearby pharmaceutical company. I felt that the Doubletree was the best hotel in the area.

When you first walk in, you will notice a nice and spacious lobby where you can just lounge around. There's also a restaurant bar that can be found blasting new pop music when there's a big group of young people staying at the Doubletree. This is usually when some company puts up their new hire trainees for some sort of orientation or conference at the nearby office parks.

The rooms are clean and spacious and house keeping does a good job of tidying after my messy self. The Doubletree also has enmities such as a pool, gym, and tennis courts. Of these, I've only used the gym but the others looked clean and well kept. Although the gym is better than most hotels, don't expect anything near health-club level. However, if you're looking for a nearby gym and happen to be a New York Sports Club (NYSC) member, there's a club a short drive away.

This is usually a pricey room, but I got mine on Priceline for $45 bucks.  We were here for a wedding and the other guests were paying the blocked-off group rate of $129 a night.  This Double Tree is a huge convention center.  Decent indoor pool and dining room for breakfast.  T.K.'s, the hotel bar, had their kitchen closed when we got there for the afterparty.  Even a "twenty dollar millionaire" attempt couldn't bring out an order of fries.  Last call was much too early (as per the law), but they had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on draft and I was able to get a Smuttynose pintglass back to the room with me.

The people who work here could not be friendlier but the air conditioning in the room is louder than a jet engine and, more importantly, NO ESPN. What hotel has ESPN2 but not ESPN?
