Stayed here over the weekend for a quick get away with the bf.

Pro's:

1. Cheap! 65$ including all taxes+ fees on hotwire.
2. Comfortable beds.
3.  Relatively central to lots of OC points of interest.

Con's:

1. Not the best customer service.

2. Walls thin. Very thin. So thin I heard the couple next to our room arguing last night. Every. Single. Word. By the way, if  you were staying on the third floor and you're the female half of that couple, both my bf and I think you should leave him! He sounded like a douche D:  ....

3.  Silly I know, but I got my hopes up for a cookie at check-in, and was disappointed when they didn't have any out/offer it. Went out into lobby a few times after to see if anything had changed on the cookie front...and sulked away... no dice. Normally I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it, but they try and make it such a strong point of their hotel! They sell the cookie mix they use at the front desk, and have giant cookies plastered all over their shuttles, I mean, what the heck? Oh well...

Although it isn't anywhere near the top of our favorites list, an overall decent hotel for the price and location!

It's rated a 3 1/2 star hotel and that's what I would give it. The decor is nice, but it lacks the complimentary breakfast and internet that most 3 star places have. The rooms are decent and pool area is alright.

Here are the pros: the cookie you get when you arrive & the bathroom amenities (all neutrogena products).

I would have given it 3 stars because the parking is $14 per night, BUT the front desk waived our fee when I asked what other parking options are available and we only stayed for one night.

Customer service and perks make all the difference...

Did I mention we got it $30 cheaper on hotwire?

Great business hotel. Convient location for OC.

Note of disclosure- my company uses this as it's primary hotel since it's a block from our corporate office.  But regardless of my company's arrangement, I'd tell you if this really sucked!

First of all, they always have space available when I've needed it.  I have heard of other employees who have to stay at the other Doubletree near Hutton Centre and have to hoof it.

In terms of amenitites-- they give us a breakfast coupon- which I always use-- even if it's just taking the fresh fruit and yogurt with a cup of coffee.  They offer a traditional hot breakfast with eggs, etc, along with hot and cold cereals and fresh OJ.  (I figure most hotels would charge $15-20 for this type of breakfast).  The hotel rooms are generously sized and always very clean.

On my last visit, I organized a small reception for my company.  The catering manager was very flexible and helpful when I made my request about 4 days before the actual event.  Everything was perfectly arranged and ready for our guests.

The location is great for travellers- there's a free shuttle to SNA every 15 minutes.  But OC is not great for public transportation, so out-of-town visitors will need to rent a car to get around.

Good value for the money.

We need you in Santa Ana.

We don't need you in Santa Ana.

Actually, I think we do need you in Santa Ana.

Ya know, on second thought, maybe we don't need you in Santa Ana.

Well wait, maybe you should stay.

Ya know, actually, it's cool, we don't need you

This was my Thursday morning-Friday late afternoon with a coworker up North trying to plan whether I would be needed in the AM for interviews or not. Since I couldn't get a straight answer from her and didn't want to drive from Santa Ana's Yelp party back to LA and then right back to the party location the next morning, I decided to crash nearby and thanks to a snazzy deal on Priceline, the Doubletree was the place.

I checked in around 12:30am and I was very happy to see that they had my reservation already processed and even had my nice warm cookie upon check in as well as a bottle of water. Nice touch. I then made my way to room 211 and got comfy. This included my normal hotel ritual of stripping off the top blanket, turning on the telly and doing a few summer salts onto the bed. Oh come on, like you don't do that too? :)

I arranged for a wake up call at 10am since I couldn't figure out the hotel alarm clock. (On a side note, am I just really THAT technologically challenged that hotel alarm clocks always get the better of me. I can never for the life of me figure these damn things out.) I will say a word or three about the wake up call. It is like 'Nam at 10am. I have never heard a louder phone celebration of rings. One by the bed, one by the desk, I think there may have even been a marching band outside my door, but yes, this is a very LOUD wake up call. So be warned.

All in all, I would definitely stay at the Doubletree again if I was in the area. It was nice and quiet. The king sized bed was fun to sleep diagonally on and I got a surprisingly good night's sleep.

Yelp Gods, you should combine this listing with that of the Doubletree Hotel Santa Ana Oc airport, its the same hotel guys. That advice besides, this hotel is thoroughly average for Doubletree, which means the usual tasty cookie at checkin, the efficient if not overly involved staff, the smallish room. Distinctive features at this one are the various pay pc's set around the subtly hidden two free pc's in the biznez center (which anyone staying at the hotel has free access to), and the higher than usual amount of lonely biznez types wandering around trying to get happy with drinks...by the way, if you're an Honors member you get a free drink coupon, but it is only good for house wine (likely from a cardboard box) or Bud beer. They really need to upgrade their free alcohol for the elite Honors lushes like me who have refined tastes!

One star for the cookie. Another star because they at least meet expectations for what you're paying for.

I really don't like the underground parking situation, there's usually not enough spaces if you're coming in late in the eveneing. The whole having to check in and then go downstairs to put your parking pass on your car. It's a pretty big hassle.

Okay, the breakfast is kinda good - the standards that you would expect. Additional star because there are more fruits than the average hotel, they have cantelope and strawberries. But there are nazi restaurant people who grump at you as though you need to be of special privledge to eat there, and then you're supposed to tip them for letting you sit?

The beds are somewhat uncomfortable. They make the bed all the time and you can be a slob and they won't touch your stuff. That's pretty standard, nothing special.

It's a decent location, but you still have to drive everywhere. The bar is also pretty expensive. Oh and if you're in a hurry you should find the stairs because the elevators will not get you where you're going fast.

It's hard not to give a high rating to a place that hands you warm chocolate chip cookies when you check in.

Seriously, that blew my mind.  It helped take the sting out of the fact that overnight parking is $14.  As an extra bonus, my bf let me eat his cookie.  I've just read that you can ask for more.  Nice!

We had a king size non-smoking room next to the elevator, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hall/floor was.  I heard no elevator traffic and really no noise in general, save for the heel clicks of the guests in the room above ours.  This was especially nice given that the hotel was hosting a large wedding reception, which had every potential to be loud and annoying to other guests, but it wasn't.  Not to mention it's an airport hotel, and I wasn't kept awake by the sounds of air traffic.

I really liked the location of the hotel too, as it is situated off of West MacArthur Blvd, right near Main St., and next to some nice apartments and shops, and just down the road from the 405 fwy.

The room was well appointed with plenty of towels and pillows, and a bonus feature of several local magazines with useful information about area attractions.

I happened to book this room through Name Your Own Price on http://Priceline.com, so I paid roughly half of the advertised room rate, and for everything we got, it was such a steal, and not a terrible value even if you do pay the regular rate.

Stayed at this hotel last month for a wedding.  Don't get this location confused with the Doubletree Club a block or so away.

With the bridal party, we walked up to the front desk with luggage, dresses, etc. in two.  They don't necessarily have the brightest people working the front, there are a couple that are great, it's the other ones that I worry about.  (For example, I handed the girl my credit card, and she asked me what my name was.  Hmm...)  The great thing is they give you a nice hot cookie when you register.  Feel free to ask for more 'cuz they will give them to you.

Our hotel room was what you expected it would be.  They give you Neutrogena toiletries, which are great.  There's a bunch of different toiletries they can give you, so it depends on who makes up your room.  Feel free to ask for more.  There's one day that housekeeping made up our room but forgot to give us towels!  Yikes!  Imagine coming back late to your room after a long day at Disneyland only to find no towels available!  They also never made up the bridal suite after we got ready in it, so the newlyweds returned to their unmade honeymoon suite after the reception.  That was not good.

They do have a small 24 hour gym and a pool available, although we never got to use it.

Parking: There is a $14 overnight charge for parking and you definitely have to look around for a space if you return late.  This is especially true if there's an event going on downstairs and all the spaces are taken.

They do offer a free shuttle to and from the airport, but it stops after a certain time.  So, if your plane arrives late, you have to get a cab.  They also offer free shuttle service within a five mile radius.

The night before the wedding, there was a sorority function going on downstairs in the ballroom.  As a result, the lobby and foyer were occupied with drunk college kids sitting all over the floor and blocking the walkway to the elevators.  (Hotel staff should have cleared the area as it was a fire hazard and it just did not look good.)  You can imagine that it was quite rowdy if you had the college students staying on your floor as well.

Sidenote: Definitely check priceline and hotwire for discounted prices for this hotel.  We know people who paid less than half of what we paid for the same nights!  (We paid over a hundred a night!)

I've never actually stayed at this hotel but I've come for conferences several times for a previous job.

Pros:
-Free cookies at the front desk, even if you're not a guest. They keep them warm which is a nice touch, but there are a lot of nuts in the mix, and I don't like that.
-Good selection of tea (we get a tea/coffee service) but either my company didn't pay for it, or they just never re-stocked the varieties.
-For the buffet lunch (ordered by my employer), it's a hit-or-miss. Pasta and salad is always tasty, sandwich ingredients are average and Mexican is a definite NO. I'm not sure about the sushi because the last time they served that, it ran out by the time we stragglers got to it.
-Cheesecake dessert is pretty tasty.
-Serves soft drinks in glass bottles with the dessert service.

Cons:
-Cold, very cold.
-Parking garage is very dark and I get creeped out.
-I've never paid for parking, but I haven't been there in a few months so maybe it's changed.
-Non-cheesecake dessert = yucky-ish.

Overall, it's better than the one in Orange, by the Block.

Im giving this place 4 stars because I really thought they gave me good
service. The maids who cleaned the rooms were very nice..Remember to tip them it is a very thankless and underpaid job.

They have neutrogena  products the rooms are spacious and you can use the internet free downstairs in a littloe Kiosk.

I found the parking to be very cheap esp compared to SF and LA standards. I would stay here again. The staff gave me free breakfast and drink vouchers.

Booked the Friday night room through Hotwire. Paid $59 for it. Was a great hotel. Besides the $14 "nominal" parking fee (that's what they call it at the front desk), it was very nice. Very clean, luxurious, and all the amenities were top notch.

This Double Tree was good overall, but the extra charges bring its grade down. The computer system was down when I checked in, but the staff gave me a breakfast voucher for waiting. The lobby and the rooms looked clean and new, and the rooms were surprisingly soundproof.

Pro: Free cookies at check-in, clean rooms w/average amenities, clock radio with iPod jack, in-house breakfast.

Con: $14 to park, $10 for Internet, $4 for bottled water, no real business center.

I'd be a lot less satisfied if I had to pay the full price for my room, but for $70 (Hotwire) it was pretty good.

Hotel is solid 4 stars.  Friendly front desk. Warm cookie at check in. Neutrogena bath products including SPF. Rooms were clean and modern.  Parking was $14 per night. Good freeway access.  Overall a good experience and I would stay here again.

Booked this hotel through Hotwire. They call it a 3 1/2 star hotel according to THEIR rating system. Was expecting the Hilton but Oh well. The pool is TINY and murky.  Chocolate chip cookies at check-in (I had to ask for them) were warm and delicious! Room by elevator (Hotwire location?) was actually quiet. Traditional Chinese wedding taking place in the ballroom (with dragons!) was way cool. Fun getaway for a good price.

i didn't really like this hotel. I shouldn't be picky because it was just a place to stay for my family, my husby who was just my 'boyfriend' at the time and myself to stay for our first family trip to Disneyland July 2007. It was about 12 miles away from the Disneyland Resort. The reason why we stayed in this hotel? because of a good family/friends discount i received. it was an ok hotel. upon check in, the lady promised us we would be able to microwave/refrigerate our food downstairs in the kitchen... that didnt quite happen. whatever, poor service.

Property on the edge of South Coast business proper, borderline Santa Ana, a city not known for business stays and some parts looks not so nice. So they want to charge $14 for parking, which is ridiculous for the location.  I'd understand if the property is in a high density section of the town, but it's not. Rooms are worn down, nothing special.  Funny thing, sister property Doubletree Club across the street doesn't charge for parking.
