4 reviews for Doubletree Hotel Missoula
When I told Missoulians that I was staying here, they all commented on the fact that this was the nicest restaurant in Missoula. This peaked my interest.
The restaurant has possibly the best breakfast in Missoula. I feared that it may be overpriced, but found the menu to be fairly reasonable. I ordered the bacon and eggs. The bacon was crisped to perfection. The coffee was perfect. The best part is that you can sit with a panoramic view of the river as you dine.
The hotel is decent. I've stayed here twice. Despite the fact that it looks pretty outdated from the outside, the inside is clean and comfortable. My only issue is that my room was relatively noisy from the clanking HVAC system and showers from rooms above. I did not have a room with a river view, but will try to get one next time I go.

I'd never been to a Doubletree before this one, so I didn't know about the cookies: the fat, delicious, huge, chocolate chip and walnut cookies. I mean, this hotel was very nice. The room was clean. We had a room with a view of the river (I suggest you request one, if you ever come here) that was beautiful.
But what I will always remember are the cookies. I ate a bunch of them because I'm a glutton.

The Doubletree Hotel in Missoula is in a prime location, right on the water across from the University of Montana. The building was recently remodeled, and they did a decent job. There's a lot of natural stone and exposed woodwork. Very pretty.
Probably what makes the Doubletree so neat is not the hotel itself but rather the fisherman that, during the summer, perches himself in the most picturesque of fashions on the rocks right outside the main dining room as he fishes the Clark Fork. It's a living postcard.
I did my research before coming here. I was coming to Missoula for business, so I wanted a good hotel where I can relax after work. That means a good location. Downtown is the only area you'll want to be, because it's close to the restaurants and bars. By the river is the truly relaxing location, so you'll want a hotel by the river. And of the two, this is the one to be at.
This place is almost ideal for the business traveler. Free wifi throughout the hotel, plus a free business center (with two computers) where printing is free. You can also print from your room using wifi and a network printer, but it was just easier to go to the business center
As one other reviewer mentioned, get a room with the river view. Well worth it, especially if you're traveling for business. I spent some time out by the river relaxing. The river is just a few yards from the hotel.
The staff is superb, especially the front desk personnel. Since I wanted to experience some 'local flavor', i frequently asked them about things to do. They were quite happy to chat about their town and things, or lack thereof, to do. The cookies were an added bonus.
The only thing glaringly missing is complimentary breakfast. But I checked other hotels in the downtown area, and none seemed to have complimentary breakfast.
Five stars because if I were sent back here, I'd be happy to stay at this hotel again.
