9 reviews for Doubletree Hotel Denver
To start off with the lobby space looks dated, the entire layout of the to include the carpet pattern point directly to early 90s. The hotel was built for conferences and meetings, they even offer shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel staff was very professional and been a diamond VIP member my room was on the top floor and it was spacious for my needs. Everything was clean and orderly, parking was free and there was plenty of it, you might to walk a bit at times though.
There is a large shopping mall with plenty of mediocre, or chain restaurants nearby to fill your needs. If your company is forking over a rental car than take advantage of it make the drive downtown which only takes 15-20 minutes if there is no traffic.
Not everyone wants a DOWNTOWN hotel. Hello, I never thought this was. Of course, I'm here on business and have no choice of where I am staying. But this hotel is great.
The staff is super friendly. Tonight, I was reading my paper in the pool area when I stepped away. A cleaning lady entered and took my unread paper and drink away. I called about it, and in 5 minutes I had my paper back.
The hall has new carpet and the rooms are updated and clean. The workout room is sort of sparse, a few elipticals and bikes and treadmills and some freeweights, but there is a nice water fountain with big cups. I also love the sauna, but there is no place to change in the men's room.
I do wish the shower head had a bit more pressure to it. But the rooms are clean and comfortable.
The neighborhood is rough and there have been some muggings in the past year, so be weary of going out and about, esp alone or at night. And having said that, there is a lot to do within a half mile walk at the nearby shopping center.
And who doesn't love a warm cookie? Just wish they also handed out a bit of milk to go with it.

I write this as I've been kept up for 1 hour at 1AM by a couple having chipmunk sex (squeaking fake orgasms "eeek eeek eeeeeeeeeeeek") then going to the bathroom next door, and loud drunken people getting back making a TON of noise and banging in the hallways. The couple on the other side has now gotten home and made a ton of noise both in the hallway and now as they are talking loudly. (So yea that bouncer probably was a dick, but dude, sftu). So basically, if you are noise sensitive at all, you will not sleep in this hotel on Saturday night.

I think my timing of staying here was probably not the best and I found myself amongst hundreds of high school girl softball players from around the country. The parking lot was always packed and I had to park around back everyday except for the first day.
The lobby is quite big and hosts a more formal restaurant as well as a sports bar, both with typical menus for hotel spots. The gym is located in suite 240 and was actually quite nice. The cardio machines all had tvs attached to them so you could watch whatever channel you pleased at your convenience. They were new and the weight machines and dumbbells were also new.
My room was on the 9th floor and was just alright. The toilet was leaking and made noises all night and the air conditioner seemed to be louder than necessary. ESPN, the only channel I cared to watch, had something wrong with the audio and made all the anchors sound like Darth Vader. However cool that sounds, it got annoying quickly.
They offer internet in your room for $9.99 a day or $44.99 for a week but its wired. I think they have free wireless in the lobby because I always saw all the softball girls huddled around their computers down there.
The hotel is extremely convenient to Dick's Sporting Goods Park (7 minutes if there's no traffic) if you are going there for anything and is also close to several good restaurants as well as Panera, Subway, and a couple of other fast food spots. The area didn't seem very nice if you got off the main road (Quebec St.) and a car next to mine was actually broken into one night in the hotel parking lot.
Downtown was roughly 20-25 minutes away from the hotel.
I'm not 100 percent sure I'll be back to stay here but when I do return to Denver, I'll consider it.

Stayed at the property a couple of times and even though it's nowhere near the city and nothing is really walking distance, it's a good option if you have business outside the city. They have a decent bar/restaurant. Rooms are a good size and staff is normally spot on.

1 Star for being $40 a night through priceline..yay! 2 stars since they gave me a huge warmed chocolate chip cookie when i checked in! The hallways were questionable...I was seriously thinking of turing around when I got off the elevator (the carpet's dirty/ paints chipped)...but the rooms are clean and comfortable and well sized. Extra star for having a rounded shower curtain so you're not molested by cold plastic.

This hotel is NOT downtown, it is NOT very nice, and I would say don't stay here!
The AC was so loud it kept you up all night. It's was advertised as being downtown, yet it was 10-15 minutes from downtown and you pass through the ghetto to get there.
We asked for directions to get to a town outside of Denver they sent us the wrong way.
The room was clean and the beds comfortable, but all in all the experience was bad.

dear doubletree,
thanks for having a room available for me last minute. i didn't know i was coming, i swear. it just happened that way. oh yeah, thanks for the early check in. i would have been screwed if i had to wear my sweats to the wedding.
thanks for the comfy bed with a million pillows. i only used 1, but hey i appreciate the thought. thanks for the iron that actually worked so i could iron my wrinkly ass dress and not look like a hobo. that was nice.
thanks for having an avis rent a car station right in your hotel. who knew cabs were so effing expensive in colorado? i didn't know that you had to drive a gagillion miles if you wanted to go downtown or even get some milk. that avis rent a car deal was superb. just picked up a car for about $100 less than what it would have cost me in cabs.
lastly, thank you for getting me drunk. i had no idea the wedding was gonna end at 10. i had no idea that colorado does not have many places open past 10. i did, however, discover that you had a bar that served FOOD AND DRINKS til 1am. i love you. i loved my newcastle on tap. i loved the bar tender who gave me free drinks and i love that waitress who brought me nachos. i have much love for you doubletree. unfortunately, i did not love that hangover the next morning, but that was my doing, right?
doubletree, if anyone i know gets married in denver again, i'm staying with you because you give me a comfy bed, friendly staff, and beer. i love you mostly for the beer. ok, night night :)
love,
aly

thoroughly adequate biznez or tourist hotel, very nice public areas, great big junior olympic indoor pool, usual breakfast buffet in cafe, rooms nice enough if a bit dated, hallways indeed somewhat dingy and in need of an update too, biznez center with three free computers some of which seem permanently out of order, staff efficient, prices decent, sorta midway between Downtown and the airport, really what more could you want so long as you're not trying to impress someone.....
