Okay, based on my 3 night stay recently, I actually give this hotel a 3.5 stars. While not the best, it was comfortable and clean. And really, that's all that matters to me.

Friendly check in desk and staff. Friendly housekeeping. Bomb ass cookie. Oh, and FYI, you can get the free cookie anytime. You just have to ask. It's not just at check in time. Trust me, I was trying to get them yummy ass cookies whenever I could.

Maybe I should make a correction on the "comfortable" part. While some may enjoy their pillows, I certainly didn't. And neither did my roomie. The pillows just sunk in once you layed your head down and that was it. No support. Nada. Personally, I don't care for that. That would be my major complaint.

I will say that their maintenance crew is fast and friendly. The shower head in our bathroom was loose. However, after calling down to the front desk, they sent a maintenance guy up to our room after a few minutes. And not even a few minutes later, our shower head was perfect.

The hotel had plenty of free parking. And is located conveniently to the 405.

Easily off the 405, next to a jack in the box and across from a filipino restaurant.  You get a complimentary cookie during check in and it's pretty bomb.  The hotel shares its parking lot with the civic center therefore plenty of spaces to park.  Oh, did I mention about thier free cookie, it's the ish.  Rooms were average but really enjoyed the sports bar down below.  Every night had something going on, whether it was a game on the bigscreen or folks singing karaoke.  Or just lounge outside by the firepits or outdoor heaters, with your warm, free of charge cookie to munch on.  Definately a hotel for the business traveler cause you're sure to meet many people from different trades.  I'm sure they'll mention something about the complimentary cookie.

Fourth star for u guessed it, their complimentary chocolate chip cookies!  I don't know how they do it but they always seem to be fresh out of the oven with a hint of crack.  OK no crack but im gonna warn ya, they're really addicting.

This location has been changed about 3 different times, three different hotels.  The only thing I have to say about DoubleTree is they have amazing cookies.  I donno what kinda crack they put in them but I would honestly stay at the hotel knowing that I get these complementary chocolate chip cookies.

The Wolfgang Puck coffeemaker was interesting too, very interesting.

My apologies to the fine people of Carson, California. I'm sure you're really great people.

I travel several times a year for work, and the Doubletree in Carson, CA was the first time I ever encountered the feeling of 'same s***, different city'. It's located maybe 30 minutes from LAX by taxi, and there is absolutely nothing in vicinity of this Doubletree. I stayed here for a few days for work, and we accomplished a ton; I believe it was because there wasn't much else to do here.

The hotel was standard; it's clean and relatively reasonably priced. If I had to do a layover or just needed a place to sleep, then I'd consider this as an option. At least I know what I'm getting.

The bar is okay, but mainly because there is no other choice within walking distance. It's a hotel bar, they're not reaching too far here.

The main reason this place gets 2 stars is due to the fact it's in a terrible location. If you've never been to California before, don't start your experience in Carson. It's like one giant strip mall, with patches of huge empty lots. I walked several miles around the Doubletree just to see what was going on, and there's a lot..for people who live here. Car washes, laundromats, nail salons,..I bet living here is great because every block has every option...but visiting? I can't see any reason to come here on my own dime.

I'll probably be back here again, so I'll definitely give Carson, and the Doubletree, another look.

Got drunk at Alpine Village and spent the night here to avoid the drive home.  Cab service was quick and easy.

The rooms were ok, and I was upgraded to a fantastically large room with two double beds.  There ended up being like six of us, so the extra space really came in handy.

I'd give it 5 stars if it had been freshly rennovated.

We decided to stay close to the tennis tournament this year, rather than waste a bunch of gas driving back and forth.  I'm really glad we did.

Our room was nice and clean, the staff were really friendly, we got warm chocolate chip cookies when we checked in, along with a box of truffles.  Come on, warm chocolate chip cookies with walnuts?  Feel free to bribe me.  We didn't get our USA Today paper, but we didn't have time to read it anyway.

And oh, sweet king-sized pillow top.  Tons of pillows.  Neutrogena products in the bathroom.  Cable channels, and not just the 10 set channels that most hotels have.  We had room service breakfast, which was still hot when delivered, and very tasty.  I had bacon and eggs, bf had the cinnamon brioche french toast.  Yum.  And Starbucks coffee right in the lobby.  Parking's free, and two big shopping centers are nearby with plenty of restaurants and retail therapy.

I can't wait to go back next year.

I was recently invited to a conflict resolution seminar that took place at the Doubletree Carson.  The initial thought of having to schlep all the way to Carson made me want to claw my HR Manager's eyes out and have them for breakfast.  I soon reconsidered.

The Doubletree Hotel in Carson is gangster.  The entire staff is on it.
No wonder they are rated #6 of 200+ properties throughout the continental US (I've done some research.  See?  It's not all gay sex innuendo).  Our breakfast was tasty and inventive.  Our lunch was top notch and the set-up for our meeting was perfect.

The entire place was a bit surreal.  Everyone is warm and fuzzy.  I may still be on a sugar rush from all the Doubletree cookies I ate.

Two must-do things at the DT Carson:
1. Their sports lounge is awesome.  TV screens at every booth plus flat screens throughout.  The drinks are standard lobby bar (weak!), but they hit the spot.

2. Gustavo, the banquet manager.
note to self: must-do.

Doubletree makes me angry.

You have to pay attention to the name. Are you booking a doubletree hotel or a doubletree suites? I am always sorely surprised when I book one expecting the two room suite and I get a cookie cutter crap hole.

Speaking of cookies, I checked in yesterday and didnt get one.

Definitely not one of the better Doubletrees in the world...

I stayed at this place for business travel and was expecting it to be decent (since I've stayed at a few Doubletrees previously).  I would have been fine with this place if it wasn't for my first night here.  I get there around midnight and am about to check in.  Right when I get to the front desk there is someone there already arguing with the receptionist.  After a few expletives, the customer was asked to leave the property.  I thought the customer was way out of line, but then came my turn to check-in.  They looked up my room and said that they overbooked.  Mind you, I had reservations set and were on hold with my credit card a few days prior.

Let me ask you this, What is the point of a reservation if they aren't going to honor it?!  Even if I didn't show up I would have been charged for that room anyways.

I tried to speak with some management but none was available which still does not make any sense to me.  After all was said and done they put me in the Quality Inn for one night for free which was equivalent to a upscale motel 6.

Either avoid this place if you care about having a place to stay or call in during your day of check-in to confirm (even though you shouldn't have to).

Hotel is decent.  My room was very clean, but smelled funny.

Great food in the bar and room service though.  Some of the best hotel food I have ever had

This place is an average Doubletree, so you get that cookie they always pride themselves on at checkin, and the rooms and public areas are decent enough, but the staff can be a challenge...they seem a bit undertrained...the night I was there recently they had room upgrades but told me I had a choice (as Diamond Honors mind you) of free brekafast, free wifi, or free upgrade. Now the usual is you always get an upgrade if its available, and brekfast is always included too..Ive never heard of Doubletree getting cheap like this, seems they're nickle and diming their best customers...also staff seemed to be milling about a lot aimlessly, especially in the restaurant, when they could be getting my grub....not to mention the laughing and cussing from front desk staff at night that I walked by....next time I'll go for a Marriot, where they treat their repeats much better.
