*This review is more about my wedding reception here and less about the hotel room itself.*

Liza was fabulous!  That really sums up my experience planning my wedding reception at the Doubletree.  We dealt with Liza, the director of catering.  We needed a smaller place that would not break the bank, and the Doubletree was the only hotel that had entrees under 50 dollars.  The location was pretty and we would have access to the courtyard for the cocktail hour.  While working out the details, Liza did everything she could to save us money.  She knew that cost would stop us from doing things, so she figured out ways to make things happen.  We needed special things for our Tea Ceremony, and Liza made everything work out.

She even dealt with MY vendors - the flowers and table decorations...Liza always checked with me if the vendor was trying to do something that sounded against my wishes.  Otherwise, Liza handled everything on her own.

Our reception went off without a hitch!  We weren't expecting to actually see Liza on the night of, but there she was!  I was really nervous about getting nickeled and dimed when we got the bill, but the final bill was exactly what Liza told us it would be.  No surprises!

Our suite was fabulous!  We actually got married on Maui at the Hyatt, and this room was nicer than that room!  Insane!  I wish we could have stayed longer.  I also wish that I could have eaten more.  I was very nervous and could not eat the day of our reception.  I did take a couple bites, and everything was yummy!

I will definitely keep the Doubletree in mind if I need to have another event!

Yuck and Yuck.  I stayed there for a conference because I had no other choice.  The hotel smelled funky.  I had a total of 9 meals there through the catering department and they were all gross.  There was a bug in our roll, chicken wasn't cooked and overall the food was just bad.  I pretty much staved for 3 days.
Not to mention the service was awful! The front desk staff seemed so annoyed to help us.
If I am ever told that I have to stay there again by my place of employment, I will pay for my own hotel room somewhere else!

Holy crap, if I didn't have a GPS, I would have gone nuts finding this place without it.

I'm a Hilton Diamond member, so I should get the best treatment and rooms.  I worry what others might have gotten.  This hotel is tired and needs an update.  All the wood is dark throughout and somewhat 1991-ish.  That's a little too old for a modern place in my book.  Additionally, the carpet smelled of too much deodorizer (hence there was odor, imagine that) and the front desk help was very spotty.
Worst part of it all, they never even offered me their trademark cookie when I checked in.  What's up with that?
Charged me $15 to park and also for internet connection (they don't have wireless) that I had to access while sitting in a chair in the corner via wire, not at the desk in the room.

I came here courtesy of Priceline's "Name your price" and stayed here for $60 per night.  The room I received was a double twin bed room - not ideal for a couple but it did the job.  Peculiarly, the room had a moldly sort of smell - the carpet was not completely dry.  Thankfully an open window and running AC pretty much curbed the problem.  But I wonder if that is why this room was offered....  I thought I had escaped the parking fee but it appeared on my bank statement - hotel staff did not inform me of this charge either.  But I slept very well here - very quiet and comfortable bed.  And the hotel was easy to navigate.  If you are going to come here, be prepared to bring a map - it's not exactly super accessible from South 101.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for Memorial DAy weekend just to get away.  We were defintely impressed with the size of the room and how well kept it is for the price we paid from http://hotels.com.

They even give you warm cookies apon check-in.  We will defintely be back to stay another night when want to get away and if the prices are right on http://hotels.com

I came back to the Doubletree a couple of days after the last review.  My room, again on the 2nd floor, was cockroach free (I looked everywhere!) and was able to sleep a little better.... phew!!!

As a professional traveler, here are a few pointers I have for you:

1. Never put your bags, purse, clothes or anything personal in the beds, carpeted floors or anything with fabric.  This is where bedbugs and insects like to "nest".  And if you put your suitcase or clothes in beds or floor, "little friends" will get the craving to come along for a ride to your house and then you will have a bigger problem in your hands....

2. Always use the luggage rack provided, hang your clothes and use desk and/or tables.

3. Guess what is the dirtiest place in a hotel room?  It is the phone and TV remote control.  It has been proven that most of the bacteria is located in these two items as they are barely/never cleaned with disinfectants; even more bacteria than the toilet seat!  Scary but true.  A couple of options for you: (1) if you have disinfectant wipes or lotion with you, use it to clean the remote and phone or (2) use the shower cap (mostly complimentary in the room or ask for one at the front desk) to cover the remote control.

4. If your room has a bedspread, do not lay on it.  These bedspreads are usually never cleaned or maybe once in a while.  Most hotels are getting away from using bedspreads (Hilton, Doubletree, Westin) but if your room has one, remove it off the bed before laying in it and toss it in a corner of the room.

5. As soon as you get home, if you placed your bag in a bed or carpet, or find insects in your room like I did, do not bring it inside your house.  Leave it in the garage, take everything out, clean everything, including the suitcase, thoroughly with disinfectant spray or similar product.

The fitness center has been renovated and some new machines changed.  However, due to the fact that is a bedroom turned into a gym, it is small with only 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical, 1 bike, and free weights.  Each of the machines have a TV.  Bottle water fountain and towels provided.

The fitness room is available from 6am to 11pm.  However, there were people already in the gym prior to 6am.    The fitness center should be located/moved somewhere where it could be used 24 hours such as the lobby/1st floor and away from rooms where people might be trying to get some sleep.

Very utilitarian place.  Just minutes from the airport, I stayed here only one night after spending the week in San Jose.  I didn't want the hassle of the drive up from SJ to SFO.

Parking was free.  Apparently the $15 rants have been heard.

The rooms are nice, but not fancy.  The channel options on the TV were very good (Food, Travel, History).

The chocolate truffles were a very nice touch.  Can't speak to the quality as I've not shared them with my wife yet.

The restaurant (Chutney's Grill) was worth the stay.  There isn't any other option close by.

When in SF, I stay downtown.  My recommendation is to use this for the night before the flight to minimize the transit concerns.

I'd rather pay $15 for a good cookie and then get free parking.  I'd call the whole parking a racket, but the gates were up when we left for the airport at 7am, soooo......

I did not like the cookie.  (Come on people --are our standards that low?  Just 'cuz it's warm doesn't make it good.)

Rooms were dark but adequate.  Clean.  Nice beds.  Close to the airport.

We slept.  We left to fly home.  It was over.  I'd do it again, but not for fun.

I've passed this hotel a few hundred times on the 101 freeway and finally visited the hotel and seen the rooms, while my cousin was here for 4 days visiting on business.  Decent.  The chocolate chip cookies were not what I remembered.  The one I had was too dry, nutty and gritty.

Pluses ++
++great pillows
++great view of SFO airport
++free chocolate chip cookies
Minuses --
--jet noise from multiple planes
--1970's style popcorn ceilings in the rooms
--Cookies are not so great =(

Stay here if you must.  The Marriott or the Crowne Plaza seem to be much better alternatives...

the price for parking went up! it's actually $16 a day for parking now. kinnda unnecessary since the hotel is secluded from the busy downtown burlingame.

i went here for the valentine weekend to get away with my boyfriend. the front desk's humor may be interpreted as rude, so it's a good thing that i didn't have to deal with him. they did give us our free cookies and they were hella good. but their elevators smelled like fish.

their house keepers are friendlier. my boyfriend asked for extra bath room items and she gave hiim 2 of everything. she didnt mind. their beds are wonderful but their pillows are way too soft. i woke up with a sore shoulder both times. for about 116 bucks a night with tax and parking included i would expect more.

Simple hotel for business travel. Its 10 minutes from the airport with free shuttle every 20 minutes. The hotel lobby is dated and dark. Its been stuck in a time warp from several dacades ago. The rooms are renovated and updated  in warm beige tones, comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. Bathroom is simple with neutrogena bath products and face wash. Rather than the coffeemaker pots, they feature Wolfgang Pucks own signature dual individual cup coffeemaker. This is for the complimentary Wolfgang Puck coffeepods that they give you. Shame, looks nice but the coffee was very weak. For work, this suits me just fine. But for vacation, I'd prefer downtown. There is nothing within walking distance.

Free cookie(warm!) at all Doubletrees upon checkin !

If I'm on my way up to the city and I need to drop a dook, I stop at this hotel. Why?!Cuzz it has clean ass private bathrooms with marble floors. So fucking clean, you can eat off of it. And I did. I was eating a sammich onetime practissin my multitasking intake and disposal ninja techniques when I drops me sammich. I picked it up, eyed it and gave it the once over to check for defects, then resumed back to consumption. I was drunk. It was a semi long drive so I had a bottle of erkk and jerk whilst driving so eating motor skills was not up to par.

This review is about the delicious chocolate chip cookies with walnuts that Doubletree Hotels are famous for. All guests receive 2 free cookies upon check-in, but if you have tried these cookies, you know that you can't just eat 2! Luckily, the hotel sells these yummy cookies in these cute souvenir tins. Whenever I'm craving them, I'll stop by a Doubletree just to buy some. You can get 6 cookies for $10. Pricey, but worth every bite!

$15 for daily parking?  i'd expect that in downtown SF, but not burlingame.  as stephanie tanner would say, "HOW RUDE!"

For $81/night you not only get a quick shuttle ride from the terminals (which does its rounds every 20 minutes), you also get a welcome cookie!  Other than the hotel showing its age (but aren't we all), there are overall no complaints: location was right across the street from the Bay and quiet (even with its proximity to SFO), the staff at the counter and the shuttle drivers were extremely hospitable, and the cookie was good!
