16500 S Center PkwyI admit that I've never stayed overnight at the Doubletree Southcenter - but I do attend my weekly Rotary meetings at this location.
We enjoy the regular buffet lunch which is usually more than decent. I particularly enjoy the creamy paprika halibut or the taco bar. The menu rotates each week and is usually good. Additionally there is always a really good salad bar with lots of fixin's to choose from.
The meeting spaces are excellent - if you are planning a meeting and need a room, this is such a great location. I love that parking is FREE (yup, you heard me), the staff are friendly and very accommodating, and the location is easy for pretty much everyone to get to (located right around the 405/5/518 interchange.
There are several smaller breakout rooms if you need them or large event spaces that can be accommodate several hundred people. Space is ideal for a meeting/conference - I've been to several here and they are always well managed (on the hotel side!).

Well I dont know what I did, but unlike Katy I got a large suite on the 6th floor, which was very comfortable with nice furniture....by the way the whole place looks like it used to be an Embassy Suites, with the typical central atrium they have. I only had the breakfast buffet here, which was okay but unremarkable, and lacking the made to order omelettes many Doubletrees have. Service was friendly but harried, as there was a large New Age conference going on that morning with many participants levitating their orders to the wait staff. Overall a decent experience, though I have to tell you much of the place had that cheap motel smell, without looking the part. Free parking is a bonus.

warm lounge and bar. good food, liked the steak. not enough staff at the bar so be patient or order your food to go, and pick it up after relaxing in your room.
there are a couple computers next to the coffee station that is open to all guests. you can play online while you wait for your food.
the shuttle comes quite frequently and can get packed in the morning. but still plenty of room for everyone.
the rooms are your typical doubletree rooms. not a suite hotel but clean and decorated nicely. there are several wings so you might want to leave cookie crumbs (from your chocolate nut cookie they give you at check-in) to find your way back.
