I would stay here if I was traveling on business or with a lover.  Rooms were clean and comfortable.  Service was excellent.  Amenities were fine (neutrogena facial cleanser, haircare and bodywash), tea and coffee selection was tasty...
Parking- $20 bucks a day.  Meters are xpensive in Minneapolis so just park in a lot and save yourself the hassle... Valet is available and friendly.
The gym was basic treadmill and free weights.  Business center offers complimentary use of computers and printer.

It is centrally located from the Walker Museum, Target, Restaurants, New hotels and fun bars...

We came here with a wedding party and really enjoyed our stay.
The staff was amazingly nice and over accommodating, giving us cookies upon check in, plus our wedding gift baskets. They nicely pointed us out to various brunch places, and let us keep our car there a bit longer. Also, when our shuttles were delayed from picking us up from the reception, they came to the rescue, picking up stranded guests.
Our room was clean and well maintained. The bed comfortable, though I would have liked a headboard. Plus, I loved my robe and two TVs me and the BF who can't agree what to watch.
I only wish our bathroom was a tad bigger, as it felt rather cramped.

I stayed here for my bachelorette party and it was nice.  It is located in a decent place downtown (across from the Target HQ).  The rooms are "suites" which means there's a minature livingroom area that openly connects to the bedroom portion.
We tried to fit everyone in one of the suite's the livingroom portion before we left to go out - talk about CRAMPED!    The decor in the rooms wasn't anything to write home about, but it definitely wasn't uber ugly hotel decor.  Their front desk agents were really nice and helpful, very accommodating.
Their beds are the typical Hilton beds which are AMAZING!  Definitely a plus.  They don't have a gift shop, only coolers that you purchase from at the Front Desk.  The lobby has a great fire place and total Minnestoan feel to it.
Breakfast in the restaurant in the morning was not great.  They had a buffet - everything was soggy and gross from sitting around all morning.  One person in our group ordered off the menu and her food came with a hair cooked through it. GROSS.  They comp'd her meal, which they should have comp'd everyone's because we were all feeling sick after that.  But there's a Starbuck's connected to the hotel, which is a plus.

Okay, it's not super fancy, or even pretty. But for the cost and the amount of room space, it is the best you can get. I worked with sales for a while planning this trip for our business trip. So maybe that's why we had such a good experience, but I almost miss the place! Small cozy lobby, starbucks is in the restaurant, friendly door staff, clean.
When I entered my room, I was shocked at how large it was. You really wouldn't believe the deal we got. I could have stayed in my hotel room all day, it was so roomy. My bed was also huge and super comfy. And the toiletries are neutregena. No cute stores or anything like that, but I guess if that's what you want, you just have to walk down the street a bit. Highly recommend.

The Pluses:
-Cookies on check-in
-Door between sleeping and living/working area of the suite
-Convenient location in the city center
-Moisturizer and body lotion in the bathroom (in addition to shampoo/conditioner)
The Minuses:
-Fan in the bathroom with a ridiculously loud squeaky belt
-Two light switches, both controlling every light in the suite
-None of said lights were in the bedroom (seriously - no working lights in there)
-Dark, cave-like corridors
Somewhere between the dust encrusted light switch plates, the dented and kinked lampshades, and the shaky and slow elevators, this place left a little to be desired.  The rates are great for being right downtown, but at the same time, it feels like the rooms and amenities haven't been updated since some time in the Reagan v. Mondale campaign.  On a budget?  Go for it.  Have a couple extra twenskies for your weekend?  Go somewhere more recent than this place.  I hate to say it, but "Where's the beef?"

I love Doubletree! How could I not rate them highly when they let me check into my room at 8:30AM--GRATIS!? Most hotels would be like the earliest I can possibly check you in if a room is available is 12PM.

Sure Doubletree is not the glitzy mod hotel like Graves 601 Hotel, but it's a clean, decent early 90s looking hotel with really nice people.  The room is spacious (can fit 6 pp in a suite (2 beds and the couch in the living room is a pull out bed). Complimentary Neutrogena bathroom products and chocolate cookie. $30-60 less/night than the surrounding 4 star hotels. Location wise -it's perfect, if you want to hang out in Downtown. However you can catch a bus on Hennepin and head to Uptown.

For those who have a Starbucks addition, it's connected to the hotel.

Parking was $15/night for us, and it was a pain at times as the hotel doesn't reserve a certain amount of parking spaces for their guests, but we managed to find meter parking (free on weekends) and the hotel took off all parking charges.

Room - 3.5
Customer Serivce - 10 +

Great location for business.  Target HQ is across the street and the hotel is right downtown.

The hotel is dated, Matthew C is right.  The suites are nice and I would call the room sufficient.  The rooms are clean but the only place in the hotel with wireless is the lobby.

Definitely a good place for the money!

This is my hotel of choice when I have to visit MSP. It really offers the best bang for the buck.

First and foremost I should say that the hotel is dated. The rooms are aging (I am pretty sure the fridge and microwave are almost as old as me), the lobby is small, and the gym is pretty sad. That being said, I keep coming back. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are always clean, and it is in a great location. The rooms are very big (all suite hotel) which is nice to separate work from the sleeping area. The location is fantastic, right around the corner from some of the best pubs in the city. The parking is cheap ($10 a night if booked with the room).

The biggest deciding factor for me is the price. I just can't justify the premiums for the other area hotels. Yes the rooms are nicer at other hotels, but the Double Tree offers bigger. I have yet to have a problem with this hotel, and will continue to come back, hoping one of these days they will refresh it.
