As my best friend did the booking for this hotel, I didn't really experience any problems checking in.

This is a smaller hotel and only 10 minutes away form where the Susan G. Komen Orange County's Race for the Cure event was to be held (Fashion Island in Newport Beach). But it was quiet and clean. The refrigerator in the room wasn't cleaned out. Someone left their food inside. EW.

But everything was comfortably average with little outside noise getting in.  The plus side was that it was a cheap rate.

On the plus side, a free shuttle to/from the airport.  It did take awhile to get them to come pick us up, but not a huge deal.  They gave us a warm cookie upon our arrival, which went down great after not having eaten on the plane.

Room was a bit muggy.  Yeah, muggy.  Don't know how to describe it any better.  Our room (#230) was next door to the fitness center.  So, getting in at 2:00 am and then having people working out at 6:30 am was a bit of an eff you from the Gods.  But to feel the bed shake because someone is running on the treadmill just seems like that would be annoying no matter how many beers you had the night before (or if you flew down to Anaheim to watch the Sox lose).

Internet in the room was free, although they said it was only free in the lobby.  Didn't really get that part, but also didn't care once we could get online.

Staff was very helpful.

The bed in our room was incredibly comfortable.  The pillows are down so they're very squishy.  If you like squishy pillows, you'll love this hotel.  I don't like squishy pillows but I still slept like a baby.

We had a fridge and coffee maker in our room as well as the standard stuff (TV, couch, desk with chair).  High speed internet access is free (always a bonus for a couple of computer addicts).  It's right off Hwy 55 so it's convenient for driving.

The night I stayed there was the quietest night I've ever spent in a hotel.  I didn't hear a THING.  No noise from other rooms, no noise from the hallway, no noises from outdoors.  It was completely quiet.  And I know that wasn't because there were no other guests, there were lots of people staying in the hotel. I saw people going in and out of the rooms around ours.  It's just that quiet.

Also, the price was more than manageable.  $90 for a king sized bed, 2 free drinks in the bar, and breakfast for 2.  Not too shabby.

I am so mad!  Ok. The hotel was clean, free parking, comfortable bed, decent room service. Whatever.  Here's the problem.  I was double charged for the room.  I called the hotel and was told first, that I checked out late.  Then, that I stayed an extra day.  Neither of which was true.  Then I was told that although I'd checked out on the TV I left my stuff in the room and therefore didn't really check out.  Not true either.

The desk guy proceeded to tell me that the computer isn't wrong and he didn't know what to tell me.  After talking to some chick named Steph and a guy named Andy I'm still waiting for "approval" from the GM to reverse the charges.

This is why I never leave home w/o my Amex.  They'll have my back!  And I'll NEVER stay at the DT again!

Not bad, although I've stayed at better DoubleTree hotels in the past. Friendly staff, clean room, very comfortable bed, good pillows, and complimentary shuttle to the airport (that is useful and actually starts at an early hour in the morning). The downside is not much around the area within walking distance as far as restaurants or activity, $11 for web access (thought this was free at the DT?), and mediocre food at the restaurant. That said, I can't complain - you could certainly do worse.

My boyfriend and I got FLEAS from sleeping in the bed. When we informed the girl at the front desk, Marissa, she took $40 off. we now have like 14 flea bites just to save $40 bucks. We were late 30 mins to check out and she called saying, we need you to leave NOW. Im sorry maybe I wouldnt have been late checking out if I wasnt abruptly woken up by the FLEAS. Im sure motel 6 doesnt even carry fleas. HORRIBLE.
