Boosting this place one star after a few more visits. A few tips:
The guacamole is amazing - and as close to my homemade guacamole as I've found anywhere. Includes a nice bite of garlic and a scattering of tomatoes and onions. Plus, the order is huge - more than enough for a small group to share.
Of the different meats that I've tried, I think the shredded pork is the best. The steak and the chorizo are a bit charred.

Being a newbie to the area, I can't bump it up without being able to compare it to all… Read more »
Pretty middle of the road when compared to surrounding Cheap Mexican Food joints. I did not think the food was that great. Overly greasy chips and runny salsas but quality pico de gallo. Burritos and tacos are average size. Pastor was on the charred and oily side, lengua was delicious, chicken was a little bland. Service was great, everyone in the place was very nice. Prices were average, decor was lacking as expected. Horchata done wrong can taste like dishwater -- I have to admit, there was a hint of it in the horchata from this place.
In conclusion, it's good food for cheap but if you're driving in, there are better options in the area.
What is awesome about Dona Naty's is that they deliver. And it's fast. It could be fast because I live right around the corner, but it's fast nonetheless.
The steak burrito suizo is quite delicious. Of course, it's packed with steak, beans, tomato, lettuce, sour cream, etc...but smothered in cheese! What could be better than that, you ask? A burrito smothered in cheese smothered in hot sauce. Delicious flavorful green and red hot sauces. And if you really want to go all-out, grab some pico de gallo and throw it on top.
All delivered! And definitely decently priced. I don't mess around when it comes to burritos, and if someone can drive around the corner and bring it to me while my ass is glued to the couch I'm in heaven.
I really liked Dona Naty's. I have meetings in the area frequently so its nice to just pop in for a very cheap, fast meal. It is very authentic Mexican food. Being vegetarian I can only comment on the veggie options, which are very good. I wasn't a big fan of the sopes, but I don't think I love them in general. The taco's are great, though. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place (I personally think Zacatacos in Berwyn is better and closer to me) but when I'm in the area its one of my "go to" places now.
I feel like the five star rating requires explaining given the amount of bitching about other places. You get really good tacos, burritos, etc for cheap. Now I'm not talking about the shit quality of La Pasadita or Flash Taco but stuff that approaches the quality of your Mexican mom's cooking and if you don't have a Mexican mom then what you would imagine the quality of your imagined Mexican mom's cooking.
I do not recommend the horchata or agua de jamaica, both taste like they're from a mix. Chicken tostada and tacos were amazing.
Umm, delicious. As a self proclaimed Mexican food addict, this is a new favorite of mine.
The lady who took my order was very nice, the delivery man was prompt and the food was incredible. It's difficult to find chorizo tacos that aren't overly greasy (I mean, it's all relative) and the toppings were authentic.
Must go!
Chicago Ave (and the UK Village area in general) have TONS of Mexican food spots. So I wasn't sure I'd selected the right one, when I ventured into Dona Naty's. For one---I found the name to be a bit humourous.
They did not disappoint. The order-taker didn't speak English, but he was very nice and found someone who did. (this was necessary b/c I "specialized" my order) and he did not understand me.
Anyhow, the owner was very nice and courteous. The only thing I was thrown off by was that rice isn't included in the burrito. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love rice. He agreed to "add" rice free of charge.
Got home and SMASHED the food. I had the chicken burrito (place) w/ the tortillo on the side. A bit on the salty/overseasoned side---but def good. They can count on me to come back again.
The food was good but I'm still searching for MY burrito place. I know there are better burritos out there, somewhere.. Everything on the menu is inexpensive. I got a steak burrito and soda for about $5 plus tip. And it comes with free chips and salsa. The staff didn't have an attitude and overall it was a happy and cozy place.
Super fast delivery! They have the best steak tacos in the area. Obviously get a side of guac to go with anything you order. I tried a pork gordita, it was amazing! Check it out for yourself!!!!!
This place was recommended to me by a friend of mexican hertiage. Boy, was he right when he said they had great food! It is amazing and easily one of my favorite mexican restaurants in the city. For one, they have the best chicken tacos around. If you like shredded, marinated chicken as opposed to chunks then this is the places for you! Oh and their veggie tacos are pretty darn good too! Another favorite is their guacomole; It is not only tasty but inexpensive. I can't wait to try more off of the menu. The staff is very friendly and nice. Added bonus: it's clean! It's got to be one of the cleanest mexican restaurants I've been in!
Been living in the neighborhood for 2 years and I love Mexican food.
Easily my favorite mexican place for for the best price too. Standouts are quesadillas and chimichangas, but pretty much everything is awesome.
Very quick delivery too.
Great pico de gallo and wonderful veggie tacos. I will be frequenting this place!
Cheap, delicious Mexican food that is in my neighborhood. Score! And they deliver, so super bonus. The vegetarian sope was outstanding, as were the rice and beans. Highly recommended!
This place is the shit (for lack of better words). Plus they deliver! And deliver fast! Perfect greasy Mexican hangover/still drunk food.
Did I mention its also super cheap? And the guacamole is really really good. 5 stars. Woo hoo.
We love Tecalitlan. We love La Pasadita. We love El Taco Veloz. After we decided to be a little adventurous and give a new Mexican joint a shot, we now find ourselves firmly in love Dona Naty's... in fact the food was so good that we may end up never having to go back to any of those other places again.
The Sopes were nothing short of an utter flavor bomb... they were sublimely delicious and at only $1.75 each, who could blame you for wanting to order two, three, four, or more at a time? The masa cake had good flavor and texture, and the toppings were fresh and well-seasoned. We tried the carne asada, barbacoa chicken, and the chorizo versions. All were exceptional, with the chorizo probably being the standout.
Their red and green salsas both packed a ton of heat, which I really can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate.
We also tried the chimichanga, which tasted like a heart-attack but was very very good. A deep-fried, huge burrito.... how could you go wrong? It came with a side of cold veges to pile on top and a side of nicely cooked Mexican rice.
Next time we go back, I'll be sure to try their tacos to see how they measure up to La Pasadita's. And of course... I need more sopes!!
Yo, fo real? All the 5-star reviews aren't F-ing around. If you live in UKV, E.VILL, WP or Bucktown, and you like delicious, cheap Mexican food, you NEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDD to call up the Dona Naty and get her ass delivered over to your place when you're hungry.
I had a steak burrito that is 1/2 a star below La Pasadita's Super Burrito. No joke! And, it came delivered too.
They also have gorditas (not the Taco Bell kind) that are similar to empanadas, but more delicious-er.
I am definitely ordering the Dona up next time I have that Mexican food "itch" and just can't seem to pull myself off the couch. Cause no one scratches it like the Dona. You should too. Do it!
Stopped by the place looking to check out the Pastor, (pork) tacos, after reading the rave reviews. I ordered the pastor taco plate and my other half ordered the Carne Asada Taco plate. Both were ok. The pastor was bland, and the Asada was pretty greasy, but the beans and rice were damn tasty. Most places cook the asada and let it sit in the pan to get really well done and render down, (that is the way the Mexicans like it). If you happen to get the bottom scoop you get all the grease. The Pastor was missing the key ingredients; clove, pineapple, onion, garlic, and the touch of brown sugar to get the carmelization and to round out the rich flavors needed. Theirs is red and it is pork, but that's about it. ( Allende's on Lincoln has a better Pastor, they get a little closer on how it is supposed to be done). Their homemade taco sauces (green and red) were a bit thin, some flavor. You have to love the prices and the service, but you also don't want to see the waitress go from the dirty table, to the cash, to spreading out skirt steak on the grill without a good hand scrubbing, but eh, that's what 500 degrees is for right? Unbelievable Taco's are still extremely difficult to find in a City with way too many average Tacqueria's. La Pasadita is reasonable and look how busy they are? (their salsas are abysmal) , but with enough beef and cheese the sheep will always line up.....
I took my boyfriend "taco-hopping" for his birthday along Chicago Ave, and he was very happy with this place. and I LOVED it too! (and i lived in mexico for the entire summer last year if that counts for anything). i've also really missed my daily horchata drink, so having that was nice.
The best mexican food in chicago. Plus, it's incredibly inexpensive. The pork tacos are out of this world, the guacamole is fresh and delicious. Fast delivery, freindly service. I challange anyone in the city to find anything tastier than their pork tacos.....
It's cheap and unlike many of their divey mexican place counterparts they actually take credit cards for things under $10. If that's you're main criteria in eating then this place is heaven. If you're more concerned w/ quality than consider other options...
Inexpensive, clean, tasty fresh Mexican food served with a smile! This place is one of the best Mexican joints in the neighborhood no question! The food is much better than anything coming out of the 2 much larger places on the block and the service kicks @ss!
La Pasadita's (all thirteen million of them)--HAH. Dona Naty's is where it's at. Oh my gosh, these sweet, succulent tacos! They are so tasty--so very, very tasty. So tasty that I've neglected most of my social life and my waist in order to indulge in these suckers almost daily. Sigh. Just thinking of them now, it is breaking my heart that they are not in my mouth, getting chewed.
So yes, I love Dona Naty's more than any taco stand in the city. Get the tacos (steak or ribeye are primo) with just cilantro and onion and ask for lime on the side. Then, drip on oodles of delicious home made (and muy caliente!) salsa atop. Also, if you dine-in, they have deliciouuuus fresh salsa for the freeee freshly fried tortilla chips.
Best kept mexican secret in the neigborhood. The flautas are really good and so is the pico de gallo and guac.
The carne asada is a close second to Pasadita and you can always get a table or place an order at Dona Natys (unlike overcrowded Pasadita).
The guys that work there are always friendly too (also unlike Pasadita).
Delivery is fast and cheap. Not really that great as a dine-in, but great for take out and delivery.
oh my god! deep fried veggie burrito goodness!
Ive walk buy so many times and never stopped until last night when my friend josh kept going on and on about the deep fried goodness!
It was awesome. how can you not love something deep fried? and tons of cilantro!
burrito dinner, mexican coke, $6 = awesome
Sorry, this place sucks. When I first moved to the neighborhood, I ate here twice before finding Taco Veloz, at which point I was very happy.
To compare the carne asada here to La Pasadita is insanity. All La Pasadita restaurants have a charcoal grill (in my opinion, mandatory for carne asada), whereas Naty's has a griddle. I could make the same shit in a frying pan at home. There are at least a dozen taquerias better than Naty's in Chicago, and one of them (Veloz) is a half block away.
Eat a Sopes and find out why this place is the best around!
Good Food+Cheap Food= AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Underrated little taqueria on Chicago Ave. I'll be forever in love with their tacos al pastor because they grill the onions, which reminds me of getting polishes at Comiskey Park. The ingredients are high quality; no "mystery meat" factor. It can take a little longer to get your food than at comparable taquerias but I take that as a good sign because it means that everything is being made fresh to order. Service isn't super English-friendly -- there evidently aren't many gringos that eat here -- but their heart is in the right place.

Fast, delicious and cheap. Great chorizo burrito and tacos. Make sure to get the green sauce!
finally, a mexican delivery service that's worth the time and money. usually mexican food is beat up when it gets to you, but dona naty's tacos show up hot and fresh. like everyone's mentioned, they don't leave out the cilantro and other touches you might expect for delivery customers to get shorted on.
and their tacos are better than taco veloz. hands down.
These 4 stars are what they deserve for the category in which they fall - which for me is "Mexican Delivery." They got my order right, they came early, they called, they gave change without issue, they made the guacamole with cilantro and flavor. Most places in Chicago, unless they're making it in front of you - skip the cilantro. They didn't. And their pico de gallo is tasty too. We had the chicken tacos, which were a little soggy but good. We also had a pork tostada which was one of the best flavored pork ones I've ever had - and lastly we got the Cubano Torta - which was bizarre - but I'm not knocking it. It had two kinds of cheese, sliced deli ham, and a split hot dog, all combined with tomatoes, beans, mayo, etc - but for some sick reason it was good. Good choice for Mexican delivery in W.Park area.
As a Lincoln Parker, this was a bit of a trek for some Mexican takeout, but well worth it. Seriously, the fresh guacamole rivaled Old Town's Adobo and the service was really great, fast and friendly. The restaurant was super clean and the staff seemed to really care about making your meal a delicious one. I also think that they deliver to Lincoln Park , a recession buster for sure!!
The magic of salsa verde and damn good cheese. Quesadilla heaven.
very good steak tacos. they only come with onion and cilantro so you may want to ask for them to load them with cheese, lettuce, etc. corn tortillas were crisped on the outside, which is nice. food came out fast and the chicken torta was very good too. chips and pico gratis if you dine in, and the requisite mexican-sugar coke in-bottle. VERY clean and conscientious staff and kitchen. great place, will for sure go back again soon.
Every time I've been it's been extremely good. I've gotten the barbacoa burrito, the tacos, chorizo....the staples. And everything's been wonderful, super well priced. And they take cards. Yay. I love this place.
The studio I cheif at is right around the corner from this place. We do Dona Naty's at least once a week for lunch. Guac is friggin incredible, loaded with cilantro and can be made spicy upon request. The dude that said Taco Veloz is better is crazy. Taco Veloz serves up COLD guac, and their tacos are way smaller. Also, they squirt PARKAY SQUEEZE MARGARINE all over the grill. GROSS.
The best place in its category. The food is cheap, delicious in a comforting, home cooking way, and they deliver super-quickly. Try the pork flautas if you're not afraid of oil. Otherwise, the nachos are packed with delicious, fresh ingredients, and the serving is big enough for two meals, or to share. Overall, they're very friendly and generous, and will put up with your special requests. Once, I ordered a side of guacamole, and got enough for a small party.
Super cheap and super fast delivery!
cheap and fast tacos! awesome when your drunk, on my speed dial!!
I rode my bike past today and had to stop for a snack cus I could smell this place from the street. I just ordered three tacos to go, two steak and one chicken. I couldn't wait to get home and devour them. When I pulled them out of the bag I got excited because there was so much packed into the tiny, greasy corn tortillas. I ate the chicken first because I usually like steak better but after eating it I could not imagine any better taco. It was very well seasoned and so tender and so much food for $1.65! The steak tacos were less flavorful but still delicious in their own way. I have gone much further out of my way for good tacos and these are the best I have encountered in some time. And so close to home! Fuck McDonald's, got food posioning there recently :( The staff was nice, efficient and timely and supplied me with some salsa that I would pay for at the grocery store. I will definitely be going back soon.
This is my favorite place to get a burrito, even more than area favorite la pasadita. They are open late and delicious.
