I moved to Aventura a little over a year and a half ago and although there are several things I don't like about living here, this is not one of them. In fact, this is probably one of my favorite things about living here.

The Don Soffer Exercise Trail allowed me to take up running which I had never done before. The trail is conveniently right outside my apartment complex so it's super convenient for me to come home from work, change, and hit the track, no matter how late I get home. There are times when I am out there as late as midnight. Some people think I am crazy for doing so but I feel safe and there are usually other people out there as well.

The only thing I'd change about the track is the lack of a bicycle lane in the street. As a result, bicyclists have to resort to riding in the middle of the street (therefore slowing down traffic) or riding on the track itself which can be dangerous to people walking their dogs or listening to their ipods. It has the potential of being a recipe for disaster. Fortunately, I have yet to see any accidental collisions.

Anyway, this is definitely a plus about living in Aventura. Thanks to the Don Soffer Exercise Trail I'll never go back to being the fatass that I was when I lived in New Jersey. ;)
