My friend and I stopped here for dinner upon a good recommendation. We arrived here around 8:00 PM on a Saturday evening, we didn't have a reservation, but we were seated immediately in the nice dining room which had white linen covered tables with linen napkins/silverware. The Italian menu (casual upscale) here sounded very appetizing which offers appetizers (antipasti), salads, soups, pasta dishes (primi), main entrees (secondi), sides (contorni), kids menu (bambini), and desserts (dolce), in Italian names. Entree prices range from $17 to $26. Beer, cocktails, and a full wine list available. Check out the menu offerings and wine list at http://www.dongiovanni...

Our waitress promptly came over to take our drink orders, pour ice water, and introduce the specials. We put in an order for two appetizers to share. The Calamari Puttanesca ($9.50) was very light tasting sauteed in lots of tomato sauce with olives, parsley & garlic. The Tonno had 4 sushi quality raw tuna (rubbed) served over a cold medley of marinated chick peas, onion, & roasted red pepper, the tuna was very fresh and tasty. Next we ordered our dinners. The dinners come with a choice of one of five Contorni of the night (cold vegetable medleys instead of the traditional side salad). The waitress went over what was available. I had the Funghi Arrosolati (spicy mushrooms & garlic) and my friend had the Broccoli al Limone (fresh broccoli, olive oil & lemon).

For dinner, I had the Fettuccine Bolognese ($19), al dente linguine with a rich meat sauce, very good. My friend ordered the fish special Steelhead Trout ($26) with medley of vegetables baked in parchment paper, had good flavors and very soft and tender.

For dessert, the server brought out a dessert tray loaded with 10 delectible treats including blueberry cheesecake, key lime cheesecake, chocolate ganache cake, chocolate crisp, egg nog creme brulee, & more). They do not serve ice cream or sorbet here. I had the Chocolate Crisp ($8) with a black coffee ($1.75). The Chocolate Crisp was served very hot in a small round dish, mixture of fruit (cherry, peach) topped with a chocolatey cookie crumbs and whipped cream, an excellent dessert, even without ice cream.

Overall, the service at our table was pretty good. Our waitress and a couple other staff members worked as a team refilling ice water, bringing out food & drinks, grating cheese on the food, and explaining the food well to us.
