A-mazing work for a reasonable rate, and owners that clearly care about their customers' satisfaction. Will DEFINITELY be back.

Came here on recommendation from Chris's Discount Muffler, which I heard about through our mechanic Ed's Autohaus - both of which are also 5 star establishments. As the owner of a gorgeous, but older car that is definitely form-over-function, it is SO nice to have a crack-team of car people you trust!

So, my car got into an accident.

It really didn't look that bad when it happened, though I did realize the car was incapable of going forward or backward in a straight line--- but what I failed to see was that the bottom of the car was hanging from the car.

Like -- it wasn't really attached to the car anymore and one tire was way ahead of the other, explaining my car's inability to, well, basically at all. The side thingamagic on the car was dented in, too -- you know, that metal part above the tire? And the mirror was leaking something green out on the passenger side door -- which, oh yeah -- refused to open, too. (Sense my auto expertise!)

Tae, of Domport Auto Body, is my new hero. I'd still be pondering what to do if not for him!

Not only did he take my car in to fix it, he also had to act like my therapist and calm me down while I freaked out intermittently, and act like an older brother and provide guidance when needed. Almost every other day, I received a call from him explaining where we're at in the process of fixing my baby -- and it's been awhile since I've been as happy to hear from someone as I have been to get a call from Tae.

Especially when he called to let me know that my baby was back in perfect shape. On the exact day he said it would be done, no less!

It's not often a girl can walk into a body shop and be told the truth, comforted AND have everything done with no additional "incidental" charges. Usually, I'd have to take a big, tough and burly man with me to speak for me and make guttural grunts to forbid the shop from telling me the damage will cost $40,000 (to which I'd probably gasp and tear up, and singlehandedly reverse the entire women's movement with the antics that would follow) -- but within a minute of meeting Tae, I knew I was in good hands.

While I'm not usually accident-prone (though someone did say recently that I am completely incapable of taking care of myself), these things happen in life, and I can't express how secure I feel knowing that Tae is just a couple of miles away should I need him.

I would gladly and confidently recommend Domport, without hesitation --- and Tae, for any and all of your body shop needs. A business is only as good as its owners and the people that represent it -- and Tae and his team are topnotch. I am not easily impressed with service businesses, but Domport did right by me and my "baby", which I love and appreciate now more than ever.

So, thank you, Domport and Tae, for giving me back my wheels -- and returning to me a SQUEAKY CLEAN car, to boot!

This place is awesome!  Raymond has always been most helpful and never fails to do a great job for me and my friends.

They used to be at Franklin Auto Body (now Franklin Auto Body LLC and they suck).   When you go therTell Raymond that John (the guy with VW Jetta and GTI)  says hello !

Domport is my new mechanic of choice!

My car was leaking oil and another shop  told me I had to steam clean my engine before they could determine where the leak originated. I brought it here instead. They cleaned the bottom manually and diagnosed the leak, for less than half what a steam clean alone would have cost.

Raymond was extremely helpful, explaining the issues to me in detail and giving me great advice for taking care of my car.

    Thanks for the great service!

This place is great.  My car was innocently involved in an accident while I was at brunch. It was damaged on three sides, and I thought it might be the end..

I brought it into Franklin Auto Body and they were wonderful. It was right before the holidays, so I had to mainly work with them over the phone b/c I was out of town. They were great about making sure I didn't get after-market parts even though my insurance was insisting otherwise. (I had to go through my insurance first until they could contact the people on the police report and verify that their insurance would pay.)  Although it took longer than I expected, I was very happy with their work and would definitely go back.

Oh yeah...after this my car finally got a name...The Phoenix...for rising from the ashes.

I am about to flee San Francisco to a non-extradition-treaty country (OK, the real story is much more boring than that) and am looking to sell my used car. Heartbreakingly, a week after I bought the thing 18 months ago, the Pothole from Hell in Bernal Heights jumped out and struck my car, resulting in a slightly crumpled bumper that I haven't bothered to fix yet. A brand new bumper would have cost a small fortune, but Tae cleaned up the existing bumper real nice for a song ($75) and even threw in a touchup to a scratch on the side for free. You now have to squint to see any the damage. Cheap, fast, trustworthy, and professional!

Wholly unrelatedly, if it is currently May 2008 and you would like to buy a loaded very-low-mileage 2006 Mazda3 s Grand Touring Wagon, have your people yelp my people.

I would recommend Domport Auto Body to ANYONE. Hands down.

I have a Subaru-WRX. She's my baby, my love. About 9 months ago - 2 people hit my car in 3 days. One with insurance, the other guy who was undocumented, but willing to pay. Tae worked with both parties so smoothly and was even able to hook up a little extra work for free. I got her back looking perfect! And in record time I would like to add.

Then, last month - got into another accident. A bad one. Front & side were toast. The Suby was almost totaled. Took it to Domport. Blam! Fixed in good time, impeccable work again!..he hooked me up.

Tae is the most honest, hardworking guy. The shop is clean, they are SUPER above and beyond nice and helpful, open long hours, and always willing to get you in a.s.a.p.

    Domport wins, every time.

    Great work, quick, inexpensive, friendly!

Someone must have accidentally bumped into my window last night with a blunt object and confused my iPod for his/her own.  Honest mistake, I'm sure.

Called at 2:12pm today to inquire about replacing my smashed window and Tae said they'd get it done by the end of the day.  I picked up my own OEM glass from the dealership and was driving a fully-enclosed vehicle again in a couple hours for under $200, while Safelite had quoted $280 to be completed who knows when with aftermarket glass.

The window works like it should, there's no trace of the broken glass that caked my interior, and a very friendly guy oiled up my squeaking doors.  He was pretty excited about them.

My luck with cars is terrible, but visiting Domport again would be a pleasure.

Back in 2004 I Brought my Audi in after it was stolen and taken on a nation-wide tour.
These guys took care of everything and for a super reasonable price (which is not normal in the Audi world).
Brought it in for a second time for a part that fell off the car (completely unrelated to the first repair). They replaced it with a part from an auto wrecker and only charged me for the part - $30!
I totally recommend this place to everyone I know.

the new year started out with a bang...well, a sickening crunch.

a friend of mine parked my car too close to a pole in my garage. i hadn't adjusted the mirrors yet when i was backing out of my spot.  i was too busy changing the radio back to my usual channel when i felt the impact.

a split second of distraction cracked my bumper and damaged the body. it caused 3k worth of damage.

    insert a deep nausea.

with two not at fault accidents and restoring my car, i've had my share of dealing with several autobody shops in sf.

this one came from a recommendation from a good friend of mine.  and it's with good reason!  these guys were the original franklin autobody but moved when the rent was raised and they couldn't keep the name.

progressive tried to ghetto their way out to just painting part of the bumper and blending the rest.  i was a wee irate well, ok steaming mad that i pay thousands for car insurance a year and they want to have different shades of paint on my car?  i yelled at the progressive agent if he'd do the same to his mother or sister...you can imagine the rest.

tae @ domport didn't tell me till when i came to pick it up that he decided to paint the whole 3 part bumper instead of just the cracked corner and blending like progressive wanted.  he did it au gratis.

the shop did such an amazing job that i hugged tae.  they have a lifetime guarantee and will keep working at the problem till you are satisfied.

now, that is a good way to start the year!  domport, you guys rock!

Excellent service.  I've been taking my car here for years when it was originally Franklin Auto Body.  Whenever I accidentally hit a deer  (damn Oakland Hills) or whenever some moron tries to be cute and hits my car.  They also do some minor mechanical work.

I can't vouch for the quality of their work, but everybody at this place is extremely nice. I rolled my motorcycle in there the other day after my battery died, and they let me use their charger for a full hour.

May not seem like a big deal, but electricity costs money, and space is at a premium in any shop.

Then they didn't even charge me for it. An attitude like that goes a long way in my book, and, if I should ever need body work I'm bringing it to them... then I'll update this review.

I go here every few months when my car gets broken into.  They've given me a deal once or twice.  Other than that it's pretty matter-of-a-fact.  They take my car, replace the glass, give it back on time and with the job done for the price stated.  Good.

Domport Auto Body (originally Franklin Auto Body) is the only place I take my car anymore.  Tae is awesome.  I'm not just saying that because I'm Korean.  But Koreans are awesome.

They have done some really great work on my car, inside and out, and are efficient, helpful, knowledgeable, and NICE.  Not fake nice where they'll stab you in the back once you turn to leave and rip out your organs to sell, but really really nice and compassionate and understanding that getting one's car fixed can be painful, stressful, inconvenient, nauseating.

Who wants to buy an 1997 Audi A4?  New tires and wipers courtesy of Domport!

Wow.   These guys were so helpful.  They repaired my smashed window in no time! They even fixed up my center console so I didn't have to purchase the $300 new part.  It can be really intimidating for a woman to enter an auto body place - always feeling that they're going to rip you off.  But I have never been treated so nicely and respectfully by an auto shop. I am so impressed.

As good an experience as one can have replacing a car window that was smashed in over the course of a stormy, raining Sunday night (they stole a bag full of crappy bootlegs and loose change.  Dumb.). Domport Auto Body took great care of me.  I especially appreciated Tae Kim, the Service Manager there. He was informative, helpful and totally on the ball, got me a new, VW branded window as fast as humanly possible and even took pains to ensure that I got the best deal.  Great place.

Our car was broken into and we had called around to a few places getting the estimate at $400 to $450 to replace this little window in the back, but when I called Domport they were very helpful. They took my phone number and said they would try to get me a cheaper price and call me back when they found the window. About 10 minutes later I received a call back saying they found one and it would only be $286 total. When the part came in, they had our window replaced immediately and I think they even cleaned our car on the inside. This place has great friendly service and is affordable. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who needs work done.

My regular mechanic recommended Domport for some bumper work, and after getting my car back, I'm surprised folks think so highly of this shop.  The exterior of my car had spots of random paint flecks, as if it had some overspray from other work, and they even forgot to address some additional work I had specifically requested.  The bumper work was simple, thank goodness, but I would never recommend this shop to my friends.
