I can't remember how, but Lisa C. and I both discovered domino when it was first published and I've loved it ever since. Yes it's put out by Conde Nast, yes they "tell you what to buy" just like their partner in crime Lucky Magazine, but there is something so fresh and suggestive about domino that I can't stop reading.
They publish an issue a month, and it's really hard to find (hopefully not a sign that it will vanish just like the astrology section in W magazine), but the publishers and editors do a great job at finding interesting themes and outlandish decorating inspiration.

It's been awhile since I've had the chance to sit down with Domino. I picked it up last night and I couldn't put it down. It's bad enough Lucky Mag is like window shopping at home. Now Domino Mag is like window shopping at home for your home. It sure makes you want to hire an interior decorator and re-do your rental. What I love about Domino is that it presents itself as unpretentious, young and hip while still drawing on the classics and what is tried and true, all while prompting you to develop your own individual style. I've gotten excellent color scheme ideas from Domino and would love to have some of the things in the magazine furniture wise but i'll have to make do with the wannabes for now.
