my new "friend" AKA my beautiful sister is quite ACCURATE.  This place rocks.  I have dreams about their garlic shrimp dish.  OHMYGOD.  There must be a clove of garlic in every bit.

I would LOVE to come back to try some of their deli sandwiches.  A great stop on the way home from Tahoe...

Deli Review.

I never thought the words, "I have found a deli better than beach hut," would  ever leave me mouth.  But they have as soon I tried a sandwich from Dominick's.  Heaven.  Absolutely, simply amazing.  I don't know what it is, but their deli sandwiches are amazing.  The meat and cheese selection is fantasitc and they have a wide variety.  Then they serve it on fresh bread and the best part that I think truly makes the sandwich is the balsamic vinegar and shredded lettuce.  OMG its amazing. I am getting hungry talking about it.  I have never been to Italy, but everyone I have talked to who has been here swears it is the closest to Italy they can get.  Plus they have a wide variety of cold salads, pasta, and lasagna you can also buy.  The rainbow tortellini with pine nuts and pesto sauce is to die for.  I can eat it cold or hot doesn't matter.

Dominicks also has a restaurant that I have heard is amazing, I haven't got to try it out yet though.

What a little treasure in Granite Bay! Finally came in for dinner last week and was more than impressed. This restaurant is very tiny but cooks some great Italian food! Things started off great with a hot, fresh baked loaf of bread presented at our table with an amazing olive oil balsamic/ fresh chopped garlic dipping sauce. We ordered the bruchetta to start and was very impressed with it. The tomatoes/ basil mixture was just right, topped off with fresh grated Parmesan cheese.
I got the highly recommended Stromboli which is massive! Easily sharable among 2 people (and some to take home), but beware there is a $4 split plate charge. Jimmy got the special of the day which was a rib eye with demi glaze and blue cheese crumbles. soooo good. I like how the entrees came with a choice of soup or salad too, makes you feel like you are getting more bang for your buck.
Our server was great and very personable. He sat down and went over the desert menu, which everything looked great, but we were just too full. The tiramasu is flown in from Italy, and everything is made in house. Definitely getting something next time. I think it is important to point out that everything is extremely fresh as it comes from their market which is pretty much attached to the restaurant. You can taste the outstanding quality in every dish and it really makes a difference.
This place is really small and was getting packed as we left at 730 some come early and enjoy!

Good quality and generous portions.  Pricey and service sometimes spotty.  We go there for lunch when we need an Italian fix.  You really feel like you are in an Italian location.  They don't do the Italian Beef like it is done in Chicago, too bad.  Recommended.

This place rocks.  If you are looking for a true food coma, order the meatball sandwich.  It'll make you feel like a stoned Tony Soprano.

Look out for the crowds though, try to get there early when going for lunch.  Avoid the restaurant, only go to the deli.

PANINI ORGASMICA. If you're ever waaaaaaay out there in Granite Bay, make a stop at this place. And make sure you order the grilled chicken panini. I think they brush olive oil on each layer of this panini. Bonus: you get a choice of a side dish with your panini. This makes it almost understandable why you're paying an arm and a leg for your food.

Only three stars because the only thing I like about the place is THAT panini. I couldn't care less for the other overpriced gourmet food. And it sits too far back from the street in an old stripmall.

A little piece of Italy in Granite Bay?  It's true! Though I've never been to Italy, I bet this is as close as you'll get via Folsom Lake.  It's a little overwhelming when you first walk into this tiny space, but the wonderful aroma of fresh marinara and spicy sausages will make you patiently wait in line with the rest of the eager, hungry people.  My gut instinct (i.e., hunger pangs) told me to order a meatball calzone.  The grapefruit-sized balls are enticingly displayed among the rest of the meats, cheeses, pastas, and salads.  Mama mia!  But my experienced lunchmate Val suggested a sandwich if I wanted to eat right away.  So I took her advice and went with the grilled chicken panini.  Damn that was good.  The ciabatta bread was better than any I've tasted along North Beach.  My choice of salad was a classic Caesar which made a great compliment to the moist and tangy, almost sweet chicken.  Val kept raving about the "arancinis".  She claimed Dominick's has a nice rendition of this Sicillian appetizer.  It was a lightly battered, deep-fried (but not greasy, state fair-fried) enormous ball of saffron rice, peas, onion, ground beef, and mozzarella, served on top of a bed of marinara.

Delicioso!
