Amazing chicken parm sandwich.  Fresh bread - everything is homemade here.  And awesome desserts.

If you want a quick field trip out of Boston for lunch hop in the car and come see Dom's.

Most amazing parma sandwich I've found yet! Their bread is unrivaled. Always fresh, always delicious.

Don't forget to pick up an arancini in the checkout line. An easy impulse buy that won't disappoint.

It took me a summer in Sicily to realize just how authentic Dom's arancini and Sorpressata are.

I personally didn't want to give a five because I wasn't totally wowed by the Serena special last time I ate here, they also have the weirdest operating hours.  But the Sorpressa sandwich took me back to Via Vittorio Emanuele in a heartbeat. The sandwiches aren't cheap, and they aren't doublestuffed, but the quality is mind-blowing. I'd also suggest the Ravioli Vanessa, and the cannoli of course.

I still can't believe this place is in Waltham.

Amazing sandwiches! Domenic's is a great spot to pick up an inexpensive, delicious sandwich. I always go for the mediterranean tuna or caprese sandwich, but I am sure anything you select will be amazing. The bread is to die for!

Came for breakfast. Place was filled with teens. It's a cozy sandwich shop. Tried the chicken parmesan sandwich. It tasted good but I was disappointed because it was luke warm. I arrived just 30 mins after opening expecting fresh hot food but it seemed like most of the food was left over from the day before and just reheated. Hate to drop 1 stars for that but first impressions count.

Their parma sandwich is something else. It's transcendent. It's a profound experience. Like my friend said, they cut it in half so you can have an intermission to reflect on the extraordinary thing that just happened in your mouth.

Okay, Domenic's paninis are GOOD, but they certainly aren't worth the  hype that they're getting here on Yelp.

I came here for lunch recently.  The place is small and the line was long, but it went really quickly. I got the Manzo, a sandwich with garlic roast beef, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, and arugula.  For me it just wasn't 9 dollars worth of panini.  However, if I was going to rate the fresh, warm, homemade bread alone, I'd have to give that 5 stars.  But the sandwich overall was about a 3.5.  Really, Domenic's famous store-baked ciabatini is what saved it.  I also got a lemon bar for dessert, but it was nothing memorable.

As I was eating, I began to think that maybe I ordered wrong, and that's why I wasn't as pleased as I thought I'd be.  I overheard several customers ordering the chicken parm panini, which is clearly the popular choice.  If I ever come back, that's what I'll have to try.

A little difficult to find. Drove right by it twice, but I'm glad I kept on trying because it's one of those little gems in a small town neighborhood. You order at the counter and there are a few tables and chairs if you want to sit down and eat your food. Got the Doms Special based on the reviews and it did not disappoint The meat was fresh and not too salty. The stretch bread was tremendous and the toppings offered a nice crisp texture. Looks like a great spot to pick up some lunch or bring home sandwiches for dinner.

Oh em ef gee. Believe the hype, people. Domenic must be a tough guy. He likes to keep weird hours that don't include weekends and are generally unfriendly to working folk. He makes people wait in infamously long, unruly lines for his fine Italian foods. Fortunately, I found myself in the area around 4:30 on a weekday and got a parking space smack out front and there was nary a line to be seen. Destiny?

I'd read multiple accolades about the Parma sandwich, and I trusted to my fellow Yeeps. Fortunately, it was THE BEST FREAKING SANDWICH EVA! I mean, wicked tasty and whatnot. Fresh bread baked on-site, a thin layer of Parma ham, tomatoes, fresh mozz, and fresh basil with a drizzle of olive oil. That's it! Simple, delicious perfection. No icky, americanized Italian sub or mayo'd out sandwiches here.

Upon returning to my building, a random neighbor asked where I'd procured my yummy looking sandwich. She was even more delighted than I when I mentioned Domenic's, and told me I simply must get the eggplant parm next time. Let's just say after my sandwich, I don't need much (ok, any) arm twisting to try anything at Dom's. Hellooooo Boston!

I don't dislike Dom's, but it just doesn't make me swoon like it does for other reviewers.

Every Wednesday I volunteer right near Dom's.  Every Wednesday I would talk with my friend about how we wished there was a place we could hit up between volunteering and work for lunch.  After about three times I finally remembered to do a Yelp search.  Enter Dom's into our Wednesday routine.

As you pull up in front of this hole in the wall you'll start smelling the deliciousness wafting out the door.  My lunch partner and I originally called ahead, but then we realized that we were missing out on inhaling the smell of fresh bread so we switched to ordering there.  Totallllly worth it.

I have tried a few things off the menu now mostly sticking to chicken parm, meatball parm, and the pollo. They're good but nothing that really made me want to die of happiness.  When the pollo was made well it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.  However, that only happened once and I got it at least six times.  The bread is phenomenal though.  There was more than once that we considered ordering a side of bread.  When we thought through the question "Can I please have xxxx panini with a side of bread?" we ultimately decided against it, but it did leave us wondering if we should call in our orders again to enable the bread side order.

I will definitely be back when the kiddies are back in school and the Wednesday routine starts again, but I don't miss it.  The inconsistency for a -$9 sandwich just doesn't do it for me.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS ON YELP?!?

I mean, the sandwich was GOOD, but I personally think it was a little overpriced. For 12 bucks (plus an arancini) I thought I'd be a little bit more satisfied..

I got the Dom's Special (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), and as you can see from the picture, there wasn't TOO much filling inside (thus I was not completely satisfied), but it's good if you're looking for a light lunch.

The bread was absolutely fantastic.. perfectly balance of crustiness, crunchiness, and chewiness. The meats and the cheeses were fresh. and the flavors of the sandwich went together perfectly.

Since I still wasn't feeling satiated, I decided to get an arancini (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). The picture doesn't do much justice.. its the size of my freakin hand! It was a little bit different from any other arancinis I've had.. normally they have a hollow center with either cheese or meat stuffed in it.. the one here was just a solid ball of risotto with very little cheese.. kinda bland if ya ask me. SO, even though it's HUGE, I didn't enjoy it very much.. quantity does not beat quality. sadpanda.

Overall, come for the sandwiches if youre looking for a light, fresh lunch!

this place is hands down some of the best sandwiches in the area.  ive definitely driven miles out of my way for one of these sandwiches.  my favorite is the caprice sandwich...they marinate the tomatoes overnight and everything comes together so well--the fresh bread, the tomatoes, the cheese...everything is prefect!  i dont know that ive had a bad sandwich from these guys.

the baked goods are also pretty good.  i can personally vouch for the delicious cookies and breads.  and the main dishes that they have on display are always tempting...but i always resist and get a sandwich.

my only complaint is that i wish they were open for longer hours!  i guess when youre that successful, you can make your own hours.

I took some friends to Dom's for a little "man lunch" today.  I don't think anyone left hungry or unimpressed.  Dom's might be a little drive for people who live in the city, but seriously they have the best sandwiches.

Last time I recommended the Parma.  In truth, it's amazing.  But my friend tried the "Dom's Special" which they describe as a "classic Italian with the addition of sweet capicola and prosciutto."  If the Parma is amazing, the Dom's Special is flat out ridiculous.

Also, we devoured a couple of arancini.  They were quite good (especially with a cup of marinara for dipping), but they didn't stand up to the sandwiches.

sandwiches are fabulous here- bread is right balance of soft and crusty (it is a bakery...) . Got the Doms Special which is an Itlian with proscuitto and something else I cant remember for meat added.
Had balsamic added to it- Yum- O.Id give it 5 stars but my freshly piped cannolli was a bit better than OK- not as amazing as the food, but still a nice flavor and taste!

I was super psyched to learn of Domenic's before moving to Waltham and couldn't wait to try 'em out. I might have waited a little too long unfortunately as when we arrived at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening most of the good stuff was gone. The guy behind the counter seemed really put out that we had to ask what was in the various "signature" paninis - had we known the takeout menus described all the sandwiches we probably could have saved him some time.

I'll say this about the food - the bread was amazing, the ingredients were really fresh, and once I got the sandwich home I was able to add a few ingredients to make it more to my liking. The desserts (raspberry tart/chocolate chip cookie) were okay, but nothing special.

All in all Domenic's is definitely worth trying but I'm not going to kill myself getting back on a Friday evening - if I'm ever in town during the day I'll try and swing by to sample some of the food that was sold out.

Best sandwiches I think I've ever had in my 30 sandwich filled years on Earth.  Back when I was carnivorin' my go to was anything with prosciutto. This place is like a brothel for fans of the cured meats.  I'm vegged now so I stick to the Caprese mostly.  Bread is otherworldly fresh, always.  Grab an arancini when you're paying for your goods.  They're huge and complement the other 1000 calories you're about to gleefully put away.

Dom's is one of the best places to grab lunch in the Boston area.

After hearing so many good things about Domenic's, my husband and I trekked out in the pouring rain during our lunch break today to get a taste.  We ordered ahead so by the time we got there, the food was all ready and waiting.  The place itself is quite small, with a few places to sit along the window, and easy to find being near downtown Waltham.

I ordered the Parma panini with basil pesto (they forgot the pesto though...), and my husband went for the Dom's Special.  Both sandwiches were excellent.  I immediately fell in love with the crusty bread - really nice flavor and texture.  All of the ingredients were very fresh, from the lettuce and tomatoes on the Dom's Special, to the savory cold cuts, to the cool and creamy mozzarella slices on the Parma.  At first impression, we thought they were a little light on the meat, but by the time we finished our sandwiches, we were perfectly stuffed.

Sandwiches range from about $6-9, which is pretty much in line with surrounding sandwich shops.  Definitely a good value.

We are definitely going back soon to try their arancini...

Ok the sandwiches here are really good. BUT really only the cold ones. If you order something like an eggplant parm they have the eggplant already made in a large hotel pan which they do not keep hot enough. This makes for a mediocre sandwich and is also dangerous with regard to health codes. Food must be kept above a certain temp or below a certain temp.

The best thing is that they use really good bread. My major complaint other than the way they treat hot food is that its always so insane in there. The people behind the counter can be nuts! Its a very ADD kind of experience. Consequently I always have to bring home or eat in the car.

While I agree with the majority that this place is amazing and I originally gave it 5 stars, I am now only giving it 4 stars. Mostly because I'm a bad orderer. I get nervous in there, with so many people behind the counter harassing you to place your order, and so many people waiting in line. I never seem to have time to read the menu so I always respond with the same, knee-jerk "eggplant parmesan please".

It's delicious and the bread holds up to it nicely. Eggplant is pretty delicate and a tad soggy, so you need a bread that can support it and not fall apart.  But, you also can't have a bread that is too chewy and crusty for such a delicate filling. This bread is the perfect balance. And the eggplant is very good. The slices are a little too thin for my liking but the sauce is very good. It truly is a 4-star sandwich. I just wish I knew what to order at Domenic's to get the 5 star experience, because I know it exists. I re-read my previous review and I know it can't be the pizza or the salad that will put me over the 5-star edge. I'm going to keep looking.

I've worked down the street from Dom's for over 5 years now, and I still consider it a huge treat to grab a sandwich, slice, or arancino from there.

The combination of the fresh-made crusty ciabatta bread, high-quality cold cuts and other ingredients (balsamic vinegar is just one example) makes all of the food delicious, and the hustle of the team making sandwiches at lunch means that it is often packed, but they get you in and out of there quickly.

This is one of my favorite Italian delis anywhere!

Get hear early (11:45-12) the line goes out the door and for good reason. The price is on par with a panera bread sandwiches. Nothing is cheap these days so I dont think its fair to call it over priced. The bread is made fresh and complements the sandwiches well. Fresh and tasty with no attitude and a nice atmosphere. There are a few chairs and tables out side to eat at and some counter space inside however it wouldn't be to comfortable with all the people in line. At the end of the day there is a reason there is a line out the door. Well worth trying if you are in the area.

I wish this Deli were in my neighborfood... Whenever I have a chance to go to this area, I always stop by and grab this amazing sandwich.
Parma, their famous sandwich is my best sandwich ever!
First of all, the bread has a crispy and chewy texture, which you can not have anywhere else, the prosciutto is nicely aged, and mozzarella cheese is fresh. Second, they use a fine quality of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic winegar. On top of that, the garlic flavor with punch in it......OMG. You are in Heaven.
I can enjoy a couple glass of wine with this sandwich.

This local, Waltham gem is one of my go-to places for lunch at work. It's a five minute drive from my workplace and it serves some of the best deli sandwiches I've had in Mass. They bake their own, delicious bread daily and use some incredible, very fresh ingredients as well. It's no wonder that they've been in business for over 30 years.

On my first trip there I ordered up a parma sandwich, which is essentially a freshly baked bread roll with some high quality prosciutto, mozzarella and some tomatoes. They throw a bit of basil in there as well and BOOM, you have an amazing, tasty sandwich.

I have returned a few times since and intend on eating my way through just about every single one of their sandwiches. Along with those, they also have pasta dishes, salads, risottos and even baked goods. I tried one of their cookies and it was a bit on the dry side though.

The service is lightning quick, and they accept credit cards. Parking is fairly easy to get around there as well, whether it being in their private lot behind the shop or metered parking in the street. Most sandwiches are made to order as well. A neat place.

This is my favorite sub shop in Waltham!  They do everything right here.  The meats and cheeses are delicious, but the bread is the best part.  I love the "Dom's Special" and find myself craving it often.  The Caprese Salad is the best I've ever had, with perfectly marinated tomatoes, soft mozzarella, and perfectly dressed salad greens.

Their recent decision to offer evening hours during the week has been a major bonus, since I don't have to rush home from work to be sure I can feed my Dom's fix.  It's a bit expensive, but well worth the price.

Do yourself a favor and go to Dom's.  If you go for lunch, the line will be long, but they move through quickly, just know what you want because ordering is a fast process.

The most difficult part of my day can be deciding what to order at Dom's.  I used to always order the Chicken Parm, but today tried the Parma.  Wow!  It may be the most tasty sandwich I've ever had.  The bread is great, and the ingredients are always fresh and made perfectly.

I also tried an Arancini today, which was outstanding.  I wish there was a Dom's closer to my home so I could eat here 7 days a week.

LOVE this place. This was the first place I went to upon moving to the area because it was mentioned several times by the Phantom Gourmet. The parma is AWESOMESAUCE. Only other thing Ive tried is the caprese salad - which was also good. 9 out of 10 times though, I get the parma.

Everything is made on site and you can tell. The only reason I knocked off one star is because the hours can be a bit funky... I follow their website to trya dn get the most up to date info but there have been a few times Ive gone by when it should have been open, only to find it closed. A bit fickle in that sense, but other than that def. a fantastic place for lunch.

On another note... one thing I hate about this place is that they arent open on the weekends. I love this place so much that I would love to be able to share it with out of town friends when they come to visit... but that usually happens on a weekend and sadly they are only open monday through friday :(

You know the bread is fresh when you can see into the back room and you see the 90 year old Italian woman back their kneading dough. This place is certainly a hole in the wall, but the line always exceeds the number of chairs/tables so that's a good sign. The bread is so delicious that anything they put inside of it will taste good. The salads (antipasto and caprese) are also surprisingly large and the balsamic dressing is fantastic.

They don't have a gluten-free menu and we didn't even ask about it since we were afraid of the typical answers from uninformed counter help: "So, like, you can't eat sugar?" The salads aren't served with any croutons or bread and the dressing is straight Italian balsamic vinegar so there are some good Celiac friendly lunch options.

Outstanding sandwiches on wonderful, baked-on-the-premises ciabatta bread with a crunchy crust.

These are what I call "European style" sandwiches: delicious bread (ciabatta, baguette, etc.) with a modest amount of very tasty meat, cheese, etc., in the middle, as opposed to typical American sandwich which has mediocre bread (sub bun, bulkie roll, etc.) with huge amounts of meat.  The European style is far tastier, as the long lunch line here confirms.

Two of my favorites are the parma and caprese. So good, I haven't tried all the others, and haven't tried the pasta, etc., so can't say anything about those.

But the sandwiches are not to be missed.

Loooove Dom's for the days I don't bring lunch to work. Deli meats are top notch and sandwiches are creative. I've tried the Tonno, Verde, chicken parm, and D-Lite. All are tasty but the D-Lite without honey mustard is my go-to fave (Verde is awesome if you just want a salad on their delicious homemade ciabatta, and Tonno is fab if you like olive tapenade and artichokes. Mmmm.)

Ordering through their iPhone app allows you to just walk in and pick up your order, even during the lunch rush. I've placed big orders for work through the app and Dom's has never messed them up. I just wish they were open on weekend nights for a quick dinner option!

This place rocks!  Don't be scared off by the long line.  Although, I think the best time to come here is at 5 pm to pick up dinner to bring home.  No line, and you'll be a hero when you walk in the door at home!

The arancini rice balls are TDF.  Get one to eat in the car on the ride home.

The roast beef custom sandwich, the Manzo, and the fancy tuna Tonno are my go-to orders. YUM!

Best homestyle Italian I've ever had in the US. Hands down. Evah!

We used to work/live in Waltham went 3-5x/week. Prices are a bit high for lunch, but I just can't help myself. Also if we get dinner it is around $75. But it is Soooo worth it.

I don't need to reiterate all the specifics that all the fab Yelp reviewers have already covered, but now that we are out of Waltham, It is hard to get there, so finding out that they are open until 8:30pm for the summer? I literally just e-mailed my husband and we are planning our Friday around a field trip to Waltham.

    Ya, it's that good.

There's scant seating inside (6 chairs and a little table).  Since the paninis are already largely assembled before you order, the food was warm, rather than piping hot.  Still, everything tasted good.

Dom's is as good as it gets for lunch in Waltham. Their subs are incredible, mainly due to the fresh-baked bread.

I've only had the chicken parmesan and meatball, but co-workers swear by the verde, Mediterranean tuna and the Dom's special. If you live or work in the Waltham area, definitely check out Dom's.

That menu is too big for just one trip... I'll be going back soon.

I got the Manzo (Garlic roast beef, caramelized onion, Gorgonzola, arugula) and have to say that it's a great sandwich.  The bread is nice and crusty on the outside, very soft and light on the inside, and wasn't difficult to bite into.  Too often when you get a roll with a crispy crust, biting it causes the contents to slide out the opposite side.  Not so with Domenic's.  Really good quality bread to go along with equally fresh and tasty toppings.

Next time (oh, there will be a next time) I think I'll give the meatball sub a shot.
