Carly did an amazing job on my wax! She was thorough and friendly and I will definitely go to her again!

Right now she's running a special. For $50 you get a Brazilian and an eyebrow wax. You can't beat it! Go see Carly!

I've been to this salon twice now and have had less than awesome experiences with both my stylist and the salon.

My first visit...

I walk into the salon and there's no one at the reception stand. I stand there for about five minutes. Some of the stylists look at me but no one asks me about my appt or if anyone has helped me. I finally go sit down and wait another 15 minutes. I guess my stylist had just called in sick and they were in total chaos trying to figure out how to deal with it.  There was one woman who was throwing a hissy fit saying she wasn't about to deal with any customers and this wasn't her problem, blah blah blah.  So unprofessional to discuss in front of clients! Someone finally comes to get me and takes me back to a chair.  She says that she'll try and squeeze me in. I wanted to get a trim and highlights.  While we're doing the consult, I tell her that my wedding is coming up in two months, I never do much with my hair but I was thinking that I wanted really subtle highlights.  I emphasize that I'm not feeling very adventurous and I want something super subtle. She says she gets it. She puts in the stuff and sticks me under a dryer and then goes to squeeze in another client.  I think that she ended up leaving the dye in way too long just so she could cut someone else's hair during my appt. When she took out the foil and shampooed it, I had chunky white blond streaks in my brown hair. I didn't want to overreact so I just left and wanted to give it sometime to sit in, in case I just needed to get used to it. She didn't dry my hair or anything because she didn't have enough time.

The second visit...

A week later, I call back and say it's too light and I'm not happy. She's super understanding and tells me to come in the next day.  I arrive and this time someone at least greets me.  But then I had to wait 15 minutes past my appt time for my stylist.  She immediately takes me to the back and puts toner in my hair. I've talked to a couple friends who regularly get highlights because I don't know about this stuff. They were shocked that she didn't do it the first time. Apparently, you should always get the toner when you get highlights.  It was just another example to me how this lady cuts corners.  She leaves it in for a couple minutes and then washes it out.  She's rushing again because she has another appt to get to. It did look a lot better - though I couldn't tell for sure because, once again, she didn't have time to dry my hair.  A week later, my hair is still way too light and I'm not sure how to fix it for my wedding. I'll just have to try another salon.

The other thing that turned me off about the salon itself on my second visit was that there was this big bridal party.  The bride had gotten a number of services and was trying to pay and the staff could not figure out how to make one bill for her for services rendered by different staff members. It was ridiculous how much trouble they had. And then, once the poor girl finally paid her bill and added tip, they made her go through and figure out how she wanted to allocate it to each staff member.  If it was my wedding day and the salon staff took 20 minutes to figure out how to charge me and then made me have to stay even longer to figure out how the tips should be broken up, I would have been furious! The poor girl had to borrow their calculator to figure it out!

Sarah Torey does things to me...I mean, my hair...that make me wanna cry out "yes! yes! yes!" She is absolutely amazing. I have thin, wispy blonde hair that no stylist has ever been able to give any sort of shape and/or volume too. Sarah not only understands my hair, she dominates it. I always walk out feeling like a rock star. Cut and color always perfect. I've never received so many compliments on my hair. Well worth the drive to Coronado!

I was first attracted to stylist Gina Arboleda because of her stunning & original looks...multi-colored hair (pink, turquoise & more!) & beautiful make-up. I thought... this girl will be the perfect stylist for my funky teenage son and budding pre-teen daughter. I was right...for the first time EVER, my son left a salon loving his hair. My daughter loves her too! After a few great kids haircuts, I decided to break up with my former stylist (only because I had just moved to Coronado and it was getting hard to leave the island for anything!) and go see Gina. No regrets at all...I love her! She has always been able to cut my hair just like every different picture I bring her. My teenage son's blue hair is now his pride & joy and she gives me the perfect NATURAL shade of red each time I come in.
