Dole Cannery - CLOSED
4 reviews for Dole Cannery
Not as big as I thought it would be, but then again, unless I wanted to walk though fields and fields of pineapples, I guess we got a pretty good tour. I didn't know there were that many different kinds of pineapples. We took the short train ride. Kind of hokey, but still fun. The best thing about our short trip to the cannery was the frozen pineapple whip. OMG - seriously, if not for brainfreeze, I would half wolfed mine down and gotten another. It was so good! Cold, sweet and totally refreshing. I'd make the drive back there just for that.
Don't forget to check out the Koi pond. Holy cow, I've never seen so many in a frenzy. They have fish food you can throw to them. It's an amazing sight of orange, red and white.
Used partly for office leases, this bldg also boasts a food court, historical snapshots of dole & nothing else worth mentioning. I must have totally missed the signs for a tour with pineapple whip during my 3 day training....? Anyhow, if you're in the neighborhood you can stop there to experience a McDonald's Express & Subway. Oh wait, you can get to a real McD's & S-Way anywhere. So, that just leaves you with an exciting opportunity to check out the...Dole plantation wall posters. Yes. That is why you should go there. Unless you actually find the mythical pineapple whip fairy, then tell me how I can get the hook-up, too.
I only come here for one reason...the pineapple whip!!!! The bombest thing you'll ever eat on a hot and muggy day!!!
Nothing's better than getting some really fresh canned fruit.
