I went to Jean Paul for color and cut for 2+ years. I would not recommend this salon for blondes... I finally stopped going when Jean Paul convinced me to do all over color instead of highlights. What was I thinking? The 1 1/2 inches at my roots turned orange. Even though he tried to tone it down, I left with orange, extremely dry hair. Eventually, the sections that were overprocessed frizzed and broke. I am now in "hair rehab" with another salon and very, very sad. Jean Paul is nice and getting an appointment is fairly easy and a lot of my friends go to this salon, but now that I think about it, none of them are blonde :)
I moved here from Houston in October 2007, and before that I had the same beloved hairdresser for 10 years.... I have blond highlights, and like to play with color in my hair and am usually a brunette, but I am a firm believer that being blond is worth the upkeep! I googled and googled until i found somewhere where I thought would even come close to my old hairdresser, and came across Dolce Vita in McLean about 5 min from my house.... I was going to go to that Blu place in Tyson's but decided against it---not one for hair salons in malls.... Anyway, I went to see Sam there who is a really sweet 20 something guy who was trained by his brother the owner.... We did a GREAT job with the color and cut, and I walked out of there confident and HAPPY!!!! It's not cheap, but I think its worth it, its about the same prices as Blu about $180 for a cut, style and full highlight, but for me Sam and Dolce was every bit worth it!!!
