wow, this is a fab bakery. my friend got her wedding cakes and chocolates here, and everything was delicious!! the chocolates are beautiful and are like the ones you would find in any big-city chocolate shop.
my friend had about 5 dif cakes for her cake buffet. my faves were the lemon meringue and a flourless choc cake w/ a creme brulee and choc mousse center. you would think flourless choc is dense, but it was light as air. i'm quite impressed w/ small-town pennsylvania! -

Come check this place out, but don't expect lots of baked good. This place is about very fine handmade chocolates, and designed-to-order cakes.
I stopped by to see what the fuss was about and ended going home with an assortment of the aforementioned hand made chocolates. They were delicious, but not cheap. I would buy from here for a special occasion. -

I've stopped by Dolce twice now. The first time I stopped by just out of curiosity and ended up bringing a few muffin tops home...which were superb! Only the pastry chef was working that afternoon, and he took the time to tell me about his creations and their set up. After living abroad for several summers and being used to getting any delicacy I wanted at the local patisserie, I was really excited to see our own little shop in Hellertown.
I stopped again this evening to pick up a treat for dessert. Of course, I couldn't decide and ended up with two: a tart with a Breton butter cookie at the bottom, topped with strawberry jam, vanilla mousse & chocolate shavings AND a caramel apple custard tart. We've eaten the strawberry one so far, and it was fantastic. Yes, $6.95 might sound like a lot for a dessert to most LV-ers, but I think it's a steal for the quality! Again, the service was excellent.
This is my new favorite corner of the LV. And, I'm still addicted to the white chocolate raspberry muffin tops :) -

I had just about given up on finding a good or even a decent patisserie in Lehigh Valley, but I've finally found one! I've had wonderful pastries in Japan and Montreal and I normally drive to my favorite bakery in Manhattan for cakes. So when I heard about Dolce, I decided to give him a try by sampling one of his pastries--vanilla mousse with peaches topped with yogurt cream. I must say I'm very impressed! The balance of tartness of the yogurt cream and sweetness of the mousse was excellent. I loved the chocolate cigarettes on it that I had to try his signature cake for my daughter's birthday. The harmony of bitterness and sweetness of his chocolate mousse was to die for! It was light and the raspberries had just the right tartness as well
It is pricier than cakes we buy around here, but Alan's pastries are not only has wonderful flavor, but they're beautiful to look at. His decorations are all handmade on premise. I feel the price is up to par for the whole package. -

Dolce Patisseri is a fanastic desert place. There are many things to choose from like fruit tarts, chocolates, and much more. The deserts there are just sooooo good. I love it there. I have known the owner for a while and he is very nice and is always helping us out on choosing a good dessert. The shop itself is small but very nice and kept very clean too. This is a fantasic place and I will recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious desert!
