I sell my jewelry here on consignment, and the staff has always been kind and accomodating to me.  I browse sometimes when I go in to check on my consignment, and usually find something interesting, however I've only purchased a couple things.  Some prices do seem a little high, but the stuff is unique, so there's the trade-off.

Yesterday while in the store, I saw Jason Schwartzman trying on vintage t-shirts, looking spiff and happy.

Yes this place is kinda in the middle of nowhere (a good thing in my book), and some of the merch is priiiicey . .  (i guess there are only a handful of these levis left in the world?) but the place is big enough for everyone to find one of a kind items and get lost in a vintage wonderland. case in point: i bought a pair of rainbow flowered spandex leggings here for $20 and they have been the envy of all of new york city. step up your style here and stop complaining. xxoo

Charm's worn off. Rarely do I find something worthwhile and when I do there's something wrong with it. Some of the old shoes are great but they're nearly all 9' and 8's. Or they're clown size, little in the me range. There was a huge tear at the bottom of a button down shirt i liked and thought, hey, I'm a kind of wild guy, i'll take this off their hands!

"Hi, excuse me, can you cut something off the price for this tear?" I asked the vacant broad at the register. She looked at me like i was some strung out loser.

"No." then she added simply, "Price."

"Yeah price, 25 bucks for this fine used shirt, but there's a huge rip in the bottom here." I lifted it up and showed her.  Then I showed the silent guy standing next to her who was steaming some old dead guys suit.

"Damaged," I pointed. Then I raised my voice over the steam machine, "huge rip!"

A cloud of vapor belched forth and engulfed the guy so that I could no longer see him, and the girl just stared at me, holding a scissors defensively. A line of impatient 20 somethings had collected behind me, sighing and texting their idiot bf's about a guy holding up the line at Doggy's Clothing 10 ft. Single by Stella Dallas.

Yeah, cool name.

The only thing that I was able to purchase there was a pair of cowgirl boots. Granted, I set off to get a bunch of shirts and boots, but when I took a look at some of the band shirt prices I almost peed myself a little. If I wanted the same effect of a $80 POISON shirt, I'd go buy one for $20, wash it 30 times and vuwala. Don't get me wrong, there are probably better deals for people who have a wider clothing style, but I am more of a jeans and a t-shirt type of girl, so for me this particular store wasn't really that appealing. Aside from the boots, that is... Which I will wear this weekend... And look awesome...

Cool place out in the middle-of-nowhere-Williamsburg.

There is a large selection of both men's and women's clothes, shoes and accessories. I had a great time just browsing through the goods. I found a few vintage skirts/dresses that were pretty but just didn't work on me.
The dressing rooms do not have mirrors, because they are just for changing into clothes. You've got to brave it (the scrutiny of other customers and the employees at the desk) and go show yourself right outside the stall in order to see yourself in the full-length mirror.

I seriously felt like I floated back in time into some dream/fantasy closet when I walked through one of the small side entrances(on the right, in the back of the store) Trippy! and I am drug-free. When I went they were playing old Western/country music (and yes! i was humming/singing along...and totally weirding out my friend) and some sixties music, which I guess goes with the Stella Dallas theme.

Prices hovered around 15 to 60 dollars for the stuff i was looking at, but the selection is interesting and in good condition. Some things were notably quite costume-y (for example, 2 or 3 fully sequined purple/pink/green/gold shirts that I dubbed "magician shirts") but I def. would go again.

the snooty little bitches at the door did nothing to dishearten my enthusiasm for the treasures that lay beyond. this shop is gigantic. you could fit a small circus. a sperm whale. i could spend a day there.. but i'd have to pack a bag lunch and a drink. sperm. ha.

they have scores of giant racks FILLED with crazy print dresses, shirts, vests, sweaters, T's. there was just as much for the fellas as there was for the ladies. they don't stock tons of junk in here and they have more cowboy boots than.. well anyone i've ever seen. they encircle the entire store.. which is like a home depot or something! it's enormous! WILD vintage dresses in great condition, cool bags, scarfs, some jewelry, and t-shirts galore, hats, everything.

overpriced, but low on junk and higher on quality and selection. I WAS SUCH A FAN. you gotta get over thar.

note- they don't haggle.. so don't get your hopes up. :/

I would have to agree with Brandon K. The staff is SOOOO RUDE and not helpful. I am an avid vintage shopper, and the prices are not that great, especially when you get mistreated while you're there. There's too mamy other great vintage shops in the neighborhood to put up with rude salespeople.

I recommend instead: Fluke, Franny & Roey, Breanne di Domenico,  Rabbits, Beacon's Closet, Blue Canary at Artists and Fleas, Amarcord, Fille de Joie, Junk, even the Cali Select vintage section at American Apparel is better than this store.

I don't know which name it's going by, "Doggy's Clothing", or "10ft. Single By Stella Dallas", but it doesn't matter.

A vintage clothing store is located at 285 N 6th St and it's awesome.

The huge selection (including a 40's & 50's room in the back) almost made me want to become one of those people that wear this stuff everyday.

But I don't want to do that; they're scary people.

This is vintage HEAVEN! I love this store. It's huge, extremely well organized, and has tons of stuff from the 30's through the 90's. Mostly everything I've seen in there has been in good shape. They have an amazing selection of boots and other shoes. Just for an idea of what they have, here are some things I spotted on my most recent trip: faux leopard print coats, green wool sailor's coat with hood, furs in all sizes and colors, sequined dresses from the 40's, Genesee Cream Ale t-shirt, and brown fur boots similar to those from "Dumb & Dumber". Prices range from $15+. Some items are complete steals, while others are kind of pricey. But whatever you buy, you'll know it's unique and very much one-of-a-kind!

My favorite store in Williamsburg! It has almost everything I want. If you are craving some great vintage this is it. The prices are awesome as well. Check it out, thats all I gotta say.
