The first time I dropped Quincy off at this place I had a really good feeling about it. When I picked him up I had an even better feeling about it. But it was when I was driving him over there the second time that I knew absolutely for sure it was the right place for my boy... as soon as he realized where we were going, he started going gonzo (in a good way), just like he does when we're headed to Bull Creek, Red Bud or Town Lake. He just loves going to this place.
Think about it... the owners LIVE on site to be close to all the dogs. They're serious dog lovers and they hire staff that obviously are too. When you pick your dog up, they take time to give you some meaningul evaluation/feedback regarding how he/she behaves and does around the other dogs. And they have a rating system to ensure that dogs are in play groups with other dogs they'll get along with and that nobody gets bullied, etc. OK, Quincy has an "orange" card, but that is a story for another day.
This place has 15 acres of property all fenced off into 20 or so separate play areas, and one of them has a pond so the dogs get some swim time every day. Each dog has it's own indoor/outdoor kennel run and gets a TON of supervised outdoor play time every day. Your pooch will be pooped after staying here, guaranteed. And happy.

DogBoy's, you soothe the psycho obsessive pet-mommy in me. Why worry when your dog is going to doggie paradise? Tons of land to run around on, playgroups, daily hikes to the pond....how could it possibly get any better?
(Financially speaking, I love that they give your second dog a discount, unlike Taurus).

Sweet people work here. The kind of people I want taking care of my sweet dog. Upon arriving with Cinnamon, a sweet person greeted me, had me complete a quick one page form, and soon, another sweet person took Cinnamon off to meet new friends and see the property.
So here is Cinnamon's experience:
Got to be outside running free in a big fenced area almost all day.
Got to be in a play group with other dogs of my temperament.
Got to play in the pond.
Got to sniff everything especially other dogs' butts.
Got patted and petted by sweet people.
Got an air conditioned kennel to sleep in at night.
Got soft blankets to sleep on since my owner forgot my dog bed.
Got treats.
Got to make new dog friends.
Got to make new people friends.
The Dogboys website gives you all the information you need up front for boarding your pet overnight or for day care. I was particularly pleased with the Sunday hours, allowing us time to get back into town and pick her up on the way home.
When we picked Cinnamon up, the dog caretaker wanted us to know about a spot on her back she was chewing--we know--allergies--but I'm glad they thought enough to mention it. They suggested we start feeding her the California Natural chicken and rice food which she apparently loves.
It is a beautiful property and the couple who own it have been in the business since 1995. I gave it 5 stars because if I were a dog, this would be where I'd stay--I love playing outside and eating chicken and rice.

DogBoys is a great day care and boarding facility for dogs. It is more expensive than some other places in town, but it provides so much more and better service that it is well worth it. I have two dogs (who both LOVE it there) a small dog and a medium sized super energetic dog. They love to go there and are completely worn out from all the playing when they get home.
I especially like the people at DogBoys. They clearly care about the animals and give me status updates. At one point they moved one of my dogs from a green to a yellow card because she was playing a little too rough, now she gets to play with only big dogs and with stricter supervison. I appreciate that they care enough about all the dogs to make sure that they stay safe. I would much rather have them err on the side of safety and not have any "accidents" than have them not pay enough attention and then have something bad happen, even if it were just a small injury from extra rough play.
As far as the breed restriction goes, it's been made clear that they really didn't want to have to do it, but the cost of insurance would have been overwhelming. I truly appreciate having such responsible people at the helm, and it asks too much to knock them for doing something that was necessary to keep their business going. I love DogBoys and use them whenever I go out of town and have to board my dogs.
Update:
I wanted to update my post because I have now taken my dogs here for training and so I can comment on that as well. I have been very impressed by the beginning obedience class. It's small (about 5 other dogs in my class) and they have a lot of individual attention if you need it. It's only been two weeks and already my dogs are showing amazing changes. One who was always very leash aggressive with other dogs is now totally calm around other dogs. We had hired a private trainer to help with this problem but that didn't help much. DogBoys has already helped a lot more. I highly recommend their training classes.

if you really loved your dog, you'd take him to dogboy's. disneyworld is to a five-year-old as dogboy's is to your dog. they get to play in hand-selected playgroups with doggie swimming pools and big shade trees all day. really, what more does your dog want out of life? i have personally known the owners of dogboy's for a long time, and i can guarantee that they care about your pet just as much as you do, and they are constantly striving to make dogboy's better! your dog will thank you!
used to take my beloved 90-pounder here (whom we got from Town Lake Animule Shelter--thanks!) and spent a lot of time driving him up there and a lot of $ on their center. However, when he got a "red card" we had enough. They claimed he was too aggressive and it just didn't add up--basically a "red card" is like an extended time out. So what were we paying for? Our pooch to sit in his cage all day? No thanks! There are too many other good places who are willing to work with dogs of all ages like Taurus Training.

I started taking my dog here for day care when he was 9 months old and I was commuting to North Austin every day for work. My dog had way too much energy but when I took him to day care here, he would be completely exhausted and fall asleep when I brought him home. Great place for day care and boarding. It's not cheap though, but I'd rather pay $32 a night knowing that he gets to run around the fields all day on a ranch compared to being let out every few hours in a pen.

This is a really special place. My dog has a blast when he's there and I'm so glad there's a place like this. They even have a pond and the dogs get to swim! They go on hikes etc. This is really a fun place for the dogs. It's also an all spay and neuter facility which is great! I mean with so many dogs in the shelters, it's so shocking to me that anyone is still keeping their dogs intact. They require the dogs to have a name tag and they also require the shot records be sent to them before the dog comes to the facility. Be aware though, your dog will come home dirty so if you don't want to bring home a stinky dog, I'd suggest you order up a nice bath for your pooch. Just make sure they dry them so you don't have a wet dog when you go pick them up. That's happened to me once.
My only complaint is that it seems like they may be getting too busy. They used to bring me my dog and tell me how he did, what he did etc. Now they seem rushed and bring my dog and rush off. I'll try and ask a few questions but they're super busy so I feel sort of bad trying to pry it out of them. So I think they may be having some growing pains. I would still by all means recc. them and hopefully they'll get adjusted to the volume or reduce the amount of dogs they take at a time thus reducing the amount of work and giving them more to time for customer service.
